Apologies to anybody who has been following my two stories Life of Lisa and Gardening At Night. I've been very busy workwise and then something really bad happened where I live, so I haven't really had the energy to update or even play. But this week I should have some more free time. Fingers crossed! And thank you.

  • Oh, I must try that! Did you create a room for the stairs first?
  • It works well in your build, because the stairs are against a building, but in mine they're supposed to be standalone. I don't know, maybe I'll just not have the stairs there for the sake of my own sanity. :D
  • I already had that on. The cheat doesn't let me delete the tiles under the stairs. I'm thinking it's probably just another feature because the stairs and the floor underneath it are the hitbox.
  • Yes, that also deletes the stairs. It appears that stairs always have to have floor underneath it.
  • Get to work for the aliens and the science career. I think City Living is also a favourite in general for the apartments and the themed neighbourhoods.
  • My new Sim (created for a scenario) is constantly scared of the dark, even when it's not dark. I'm sure I've read somewhere that this is a bug... :#
  • If the ghost is a random spawn there won't be an urn anywhere. Even for household members who die off their own plot when you're not playing them, you might have a hard time finding their urn.
  • I'm a bit late to this, but isn't this just University again? Or is high school teen? I kind of liked some of the things I saw, but I'm also a bit tired of school related things always being so American when can clearly get other game packs that are inspired by other cultures.
  • I get a discount in the EA App, so I often use that to buy packs. But for updates and other things, Origin is still the only thing that works properly.
  • Del Sol Valley. Just why does it even exist? Why does the pack even exist? :D Other less interesting places to build/play in: Granite Falls, Selvadorada, whatever that Realm of Magic world is called. Sidenote, I've made some really fun builds in Magnolia Promenade that were regular living houses, not shops. I like the tram…
  • I would like some normal, everyday windows. Honestly, just a pack of basic windows, doors (both indoor and outdoor) and wallpaper. I very rarely build houses that are Tudor or Victorian, but I also don't always want to build hyper modern, architectural wonders. I just want to be able to make plain, everyday houses from a…
  • I don't use mods, because it seems such a hassle when new updates come for the base game and the mods break. But I did once try out both a fairly simple cosmetics mod, which ended up annoying me with the hairs having no movement, as well as the red shelf one for better building. I liked the latter, but then changed…
  • It depends. If it's a family that I plan to play for a long time, I want to control their ageing myself, so I turn it off. But if I'm doing a challenge or scenario, I might leave it on to create more of a challenge.
  • Kind of funny that this has been one of the most popular mods and EA only now got around to making it a feature for us vanilla players. But I am looking forward to what I hope is a more dynamic world.
  • Food generally spoils more quickly than cake, but this seems excessively quick.
  • I'm undecided because we already have weddings in the game, even if they're not as fancy as this pack seems to offer. But the decision to buy would be more based on the new world and what is in it. I am already hesitant about the two "shops" we saw, which I assume will be like the Cottage Living stalls. It does look like…
  • Similarly: - living on the site (just like with any business, really) - being able to train and hire Sims I choose, and not have the game generate employees who are useless anyway - guests staying at their tables and eating the food - more variety in cuisines/food themes - probably also a refresh of some BB objects,…
  • It was always one of my favourite packs, even though I know not a lot of others agree. :D So I'm happy it's getting a refresh. It looked very promising to me, except the nails...ew, can't stand long nails. But I'm sure others will love them.
  • To be honest, it's become more and more difficult to distinguish which pack is the buggy one, or if it's just that the more you add on the more they all break. My first big bug was when seasons made the Geekcon unplayable, because it rained. I have basically given up playing, as there is almost always something that isn't…
  • I can't really think of any specifically glaring bugs when I've played the career. It's just not a very coherent pack, and definitely not play tested. Oh, wait! I just remember now that I was in a household where they had a baby and my decorator Sim, who should just be a guest on the lot, was allowed to age the baby up. Or…
  • My work around is to always go check the lot before the gig begins. I have now twice been given room decoration gigs on lots with no houses and one room addition, where there isn't really any place to add one. It's not how I imagined this pack would work, but why am I even surprised. Btw, you can also leave an ongoing gig,…
  • I finally got my first mission impossible: make some sort of extra build on the lot for the inlaws. With a budget of 1250 simoleons. I could literally only plop down a room of 22 squares, put up some wallpaper, floor and a door. Furniture optional? :D I find that the initial information on likes/dislikes does not correlate…
  • Since I do enjoy building and decoration, I've adapted this workaround: - I find the upcoming gig's lots in the game before the workday starts and inspect it. - If it's absolutely hideous to start with, I go into build mode and make some vital changes. I literally scrapped one whole house and built a new one, because I…
  • I think one of the most confusing things with the career is that there is nothing you can do in between gigs to increase your skills in home decorating. So, basically you're just killing time between gigs, unless your Sim has some super exciting aspiration or hobby. I also find the instructions from the hiring Sim when you…
  • Two things I've found while playing the career: 1. You can get a room renovation job on a lot where there is no house. 2. You can get a minus and 0 money even when the clients are all extatic and love what you did. I am confused.
  • I thought the Build and Buy looked very promising.
  • I'm considering making a clean save with some of my own NPCs and of course, nicer houses. :D
  • Not entirely sure how you define modern and traditional, but I tend to use architectural magazines/social media for inspiration and I suppose those would not be called very traditional a lot of the time. A lot of my builds are Scandinavian/Japanese style. I almost never use curtains or wallpaper.
  • But this is really interesting to me! I've tried building on the 5-6-1 lot, which I think I mentioned earlier, and there is something obstructing placement on walls in the middle of the lot even after you bulldoze it. It feels like there are building assets left invisible when they were placed into the game. When placing…
  • I find myself always returning to the Scientist career, because I just love the endgame of it - especially if my scientist is an alien. ;) While I love Windenburg and San Myshuno the most for their worlds, I rarely use the gameplay that came with them. Clubs are at best useful for gathering a specific set of Sims to…
