WOW. Immediately after posting this, Career Day started. Not at the day or time indicated on the calendar. (I'd just edited my calendar to filter out fairs and holidays but doubt that triggered anything.)
The closest I've come to accomplishing apartments is to lock each "apartment" door for the Sim that lives there. I built a typical LA-style in Del Sol and it plays well.
So far so good. I'm playing vanilla, which I haven't done in FOREVER. Trying to keep motives up while engaging in all the necessary activities is interesting. No glitches thus far.
The bug forum recommended workaround (moving Sims out to another lot, inviting them over and inviting them to join the household) did not work. Nor did using MCCC to delete and reestablish relationships. CAS could not be corrected. I deleted the Sim.
