The Sims 4 is an annoying broken mess. Same with the EA app they force us to use. The Sims 4 sims are the dumbest, most boring, most generic sims of every Sims game. Their "emotions" are a joke. My beloved husband just died? Oh, but the room is nicely decorated, so I´m really happy right now. Said husband betrayed me in…
*whispers*: Since I last updated the app (somewhere in december) I can play offline without being forced to first go online. I don´t dare to update again, it probably will cease to work. Every time I start the app I wait for it to throw a tantrum about not having access to the internet. (edit: aaand I just jinxed myself.…
When you methodically go through a bunch of really old saves (2014 - 2016), to search for a horse that your first sim owned and sold, and because you had no real sense of the game dynamics back then, you didn´t save it to the library. Then you get really sad, because "Dancer" is gone - he´s in none of the saves and you…
You could take a look at the ISBI challenge, not to really play it but for the basics. You control only one sim in the household (who must be insane) and let the others run wild. Insane is a trait I would recommend anyway, daredevil, diva, evil, flirty, hot headed, slob or grumpy (a lot of the "bad" traits have great…
I have spent hours troubleshooting this darn app. Hours I wanted to just play my Sims 3 in peace. Offline. On my pc. Where the game is installed from discs. Instead of peaceful gaming the app doesn´t work. Or the Sims 3 isn´t installed. Random bits of store content are missing. Not to mention that I have to go online to…
I also play Sims 4 sometimes, and what the newer game completley fails to deliver are unique sims. Every sim, despite having different traits seems to be the same, has the same wishes and wants. And is a nervous wrack with the "emotions" changing every few seconds. Every Sims 3 sim is different. Even if you create 2 sims…
So the EA app minimized my game two times in a row to whine about not being online. Luckily, it didn´t crash, but the Sims 3 suddenly collapsing to the desktop is not good for my nerves. Make it stop, please.
So I was finally forced to switch to the EA app. So far, everything seems present and the game runs as usual. It is completly installed on my pc and I always only had to log into Origin to start it. However. I always play offline. My pc does not have wifi (and has refused any attempt to have any form of it) and when I want…
I love that mod. Without it, the scolding system would have driven me insane years ago. (The scolding system definitly does not count as "trivial annoyance" for me, that would be a "major annoyance" :D )
When you decide your new laptop can handle the game, spend several hours to research if and how it runs with windows 11, and how to introduce your shiny new graphic card to it, nervously start it - and your laptop, which has been rather placid until now, suddenly starts up all of its powerful fans at once - and you just…
My favourite thing is, that I´m playing it for nearly 8 years now, and there´s still stuff I haven´t done, but want to do. Never boring. My least favourite thing are the loading times in CAS and CASt. Come onnnn, change already!
My game hardly ever crashes - it freezes sometimes when I´m playing an old save or a full household when everyone is running around doing stuff, but it nearly always recovers from that. In case that happens, I reset the town with Nraas, I´m sure their mods do a lot to keep my game stable. I also regularly clear the caches…
Started in late 2014, when everyone else was buying Sims 4. But people said Sims 3 was better (and it was complete), so I bought that. People were right! :) I do play Sims 4 occasionally, but it´s just so boring. Tried Sims, Sims 2 and Sims Medival, which were all fun, but Sims 3 is the game I always return to.
We had two severe storms last week, wind speed up to 125 kmh, which is about 78 mph, lots of rain, some thunder and lighning. Caused a lot of damage in my country and sadly some deaths. Now we already have the next on, but it isn´t as bad. (We were lucky, but it is kind of frightening when the whole house rattles around…
Diva. I often roll the traits for my sims, but no one is getting that trait ever again. :D The one sim who had it drove me up the wall. Every other trait is allright. I actually don´t mind traits that don´t add anything to a sims personality. Most of my sims are born in game, and if I have the feeling they already have a…
So I wanted my sims to have a nice gift giving party at snowflake day. For some reason (my game seems to be a bit wonky at times) it was also prom night, so all my teen sims (7 of them) left the house. Also also, it was a full moon, so while opening the presents, Conall turned into a werewolf, causing some of the guests to…
Black Panther. It was not as good as I thought it would be. Casting was great, plot all over the place, CGI ranging from really good to meh. And the war rhinos really threw me off.
I did´t know, that adult sims can use the seesaw! I did know, that they can use the swings, and teens can hang out on the slide. Seesaws are just a routing fail to happen, so I normally don´t bother with them, but my sim autonomously decided to have some fun with them on a public lot.
@mw1525 - thank you, I had a test run with my simself and she seemed to like it very much. :) The massiveness of the house is exactly the problem. I don´t mind box-shaped houses at all - I live in one and like it very much. But with my dislike for more than one storey buildings and the "natural expansion" that comes with…
I don´t hate building, but I´m just not very good at it and lose patience really quickly. I do build houses for my families, because most of the premade or downloaded ones are not quite right for me, they do end up mostly boxy though. Started experimenting with floorplans recently, which makes things easier, still not a…
I build a house using a nice floorplan of an appartement I randomly found on instagram, showed it to my sister and she came up with a whole story of a young woman who likes to party and her elderly neighbour who always gets invited and tells stories about bugs, because he´s an entomologist. So I had to make some sims, too.…
When you spend several hours to get the Sims 2 running on your pc (again - I installed an expansion and the game refused to work anymore), then you finally play some hours and have a decent amount of fun, and then the next day you return to Sims 3 and it feels like coming home. (No hate on Sims 2, it´s a really good game,…
