Even The Sims 1 had 7 expansion packs, but I feel like no game has been milked as much as The Sims 4. TS1 to TS2 was 4 years. Admittedly a bit rushed, since the code is a mess under the hood. TS2 to TS3 was 5 years. Same for TS3 to TS4. Assuming 2022 is correct, TS4 to TS5 is 8 years. And they put some pretty basic stuff…
I really enjoy The Sims lore, but at the same time, they really took a dark turn with the Pleasantview families from TS1 to TS2. The Pleasants got it bad. The Newbies are dead. And the Goths... who knows. But I like to try to turn their lives around.
See the problem is that most of them add something that I feel is "essential". I guess I would say Hot Date, because it was so fun to be able to go downtown for the first time! Oh hold on. Each. 1 - Hot Date 2 - I guess University because it adds the long hairstyle for men 3 and 4 - I don't have expansions for these
Sims 1 had some nice tracks for sure, but I hate that after you install the latest expansion pack, you lose the music from the previous expansion. And generally The Sims 2 had the least amount of annoying tracks, imo.
I hate digital PC games, so I'll hold out until my discs no longer work in Windows (128-bit by then, I guess). But The Sims 2 is the GOAT, and it deserves to be on Origin.
Superstar (complete with the satellite dish that adds more TV channels, and the glitzy music... Superstar had one of my favorite soundtracks) and Get To Work (I always wanted to see what my Sims do at work).
I spend a lot of time in Strangetown due to my experiments with alien genetics, but I guess I would say Pleasantview. It's got the "descendants" of the Sims 1 families as well as several well-known townies. Also, I dislike the whole desert thing Strangetown has going on. My old way of playing The Sims 2, many years ago,…
That's funny because no matter how hard I try, I can't get into The Sims 4. EA even gave away the game for free, I installed it, I played a little bit and it just feels all wrong. The Sims 2 is the best Sims game for me, and none of the others come anywhere close. Not even Sims 1.
Since installing FreeTime, I noticed that when I try to make a Sim "Ask to Leave" the cow mascot, the cow will pull out a book and start walking around the lot while reading. What is this? I've never seen this animation before.
Maxis was better at setting up backstories than I am, apparently. I always used to ignore the premades and play as my own families, but that got repetitive. Now I play as my own while also playing as the Pleasantview and Strangetown families. I'm really quite surprised how dark they got with the Pleasantview families,…
I really like the baby items, and the running with scissors playset (not for kids, lol). As for the Christmas tree, it's best gotten with Happy Holiday Stuff.
