Isla Paradiso is great, but it's Appaloosa Plains all day, every day, babey! Honestly, I just can't seem to stop playing in that world. Mayhaps me being obsessed with the Pets expansion pack has somethin' to do with that, but I just adore the countryside and I will jump at any opportunity to experience it, even virtually!

@SuzyCue72 I would recommend 16GB on a gaming PC at minimum, but animexlife is only wanting to play the Sims 3 and World of Warcraft, and has stated that other than that they'll just be browsing the web. For that, 8GB of ram will suit them just fine.

I'm very wary of prebuilt Cyberpower PCs, nonetheless, the computer should run the Sims 3 fine even though that RAM configuration leaves a bit to be desired. I second Carly's remark. Technically I never stopped, but I did play the game less then than I do now. I've had so much time on my hands due to this little pandemic of ours. I am also doing a 10 generation legacy, I just hope this awful thing of a laptop can hold out until the end of April or early May.

@starguru those screenshots are absolutely phenomenal! I use Mahamudo's Environment Lighting Tweaks and the Frozen Inspired version of BrntWaffles lighting mod with Isla Paradiso water. Unfortunately, I don't have any environmental pictures at the moment.

I'm not sure if this counts or not but I just made a mod not to long ago that fixes the issue of puppies and kittens being born with the generic dog/cat body and I find it to be absolutely essential to my gameplay. So, go me, I guess. :p

I was going to make it a choice, but the poll creation only allows for ten options and I thought it was more important to have the individual expansion packs as choices.

Yeah, I share the same sentiments. I may play with the Pets expansion the most but all the expansions play their role in my gameplay. Also thanks for your well wishes! I'm quite excited to get to building; the wait for the parts has been excruciating, I must say.

Hm, I know of some NRass mods that may help, but I have no idea if they would completely stop your game from crashing down on top of you. Aww, man. I remember seeing somewhere that the Sims 3 would be getting an updated 64-bit version but I had no idea the update would only extend to Mac users, and even that seems to be iffy. I'm actually really bummed out about this.

Today I learned that If your sim dies and has a pet when the Grim Reaper shows up the pet can harass the Reaper to bring the sim back! A pretty neat little thing if you had to ask me.
