Oh I was unaware that it was a bug related to this (i just read the notes you linked) I actually just reinstalled the Sims, pre-ordered For Rent and started building apartments in the last few days. Well I'm happy to see that sims use their phones less! Though I wonder if a unplugged trait isn't still a possibility…
On a totally different note, just curious does anybody else have the same habit of me, where you remove your tray and saves, delete everything in your doc folder (mods optional since most are outdated) before updating so it creates a new sims doc* folder from scratch with each update? I also run "repair" after each patch…
Ya I was just about to say I had two updates back to back which I've never seen before. I was actually wondering if it unlocked For Rent early by mistake but sadly not... Actually I'm kinda happy it wasn't released today (early), I'm still building my new lots for the expansion and not ready for it!
Somewhat of a side question, but would it better than to move my household or lot into the center of town to do sales? Like are their areas that get better foot traffic? Or should I make a custom lot and have my sims go to it when they are ready to sell (at the end of the week). aka is a venue lot better probably than my…
Per using mods, this is great I suppose if your playing on PC but what about players on console? More so, having come back to the Sims 4 I DO believe that the Sims now spend A LOT more time on their cellphones/aka the idle animation has been increased recently. For example when I ask them to walk somewhere they LITERALLY…
To me, this is A VERY poor game design decision. Games are meant to be interactive and engaging, even a life simulator where you spend a great time observing sims. There is nothing engaging in watching a person stare endlessly at their cellphone. Its annoying in real life and its even more annoying in a video game,…
the highschool "lot" only exists in the expansion world and cannot be added/moved to other worlds (the building itself can but the lot type is exclusive to the expansions world). Its been commented on by many reviewers as a lost opportunity and makes little sense because its not like San Myshuno, which is clearly a large…
weird that its available in europe and not North America yet. Gamestop does now have a listing for it, but just for a digital online code. Not a physical copy they ship (with the code in it but still) Part of the other reason I buy physical copies is because they are substantially cheaper on release. For whatever reason…
LOL this is funny thanks for this, ships from germany and not even in stock for months aka never received any and no idea when they will (1-2 months means that). Same thing for amazon canada and US. No retailers have any physical editions coming or eta. However FOR ALL past expansions and releases the product was available…
The biggest issue this poll is ignoring is - that the Sims 5 will be "fixed". So far each base game usually comes out with more ants than an ants nest has (aka bugs) and lacks a ton of content thats slowly patched in. Plus if the sims 5 is really going to be multiplayer it will be facing a serious uphill battle with all…
In that case its less the gpu but computer setup in general, the difference between a 6900 and 6800 is very small % in performance if you look at benchmarks. Performance wise both games run fine, they just have issues with reflections. Sims 3 DOES have a camera rotation lag issue, before you apply the fix, but otherwise…
Couldn't she make "student" her career, aka keep pursuing new degrees after finishing her last one? So she can live on campus forever? (or until she gets all the degrees offered). Thats what I'd try doing, although she might have to move home between degrees for a few weeks?
While I did make a comment above saying AMD cards are great for console port proofing, if you mostly play the Sims games I STICK BY original comment to avoid buying a new AMD card. Otherwise you will have to use these fixes to make the game run properly which isn't exactly ideal lol. But at least they exist... If you ARE…
The fix works based on directx libraries being used, not the operating system. And yes the 6800 XT made my game lag until I used my Wine3D fix, which improved FPS.
I post as wolvescreek/thats me that found the fix for Sims 3 on the bug forums (i'd update my name here, but I can't find a way?) so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or there about that fix. So there is a big positive I'd like to add for buying a AMD, that a lot of people don't always take into…
So after a bunch of searching we basically discovered the ISSUE. The Sims 4 is programmed on old directx9 libraries which newer AMD gpu's seem to have an issue with, for example lower frame rates in some games. In the case of the Sims 4, it cannot properly render mirrored reflections because newer AMD cards do not fully…
Hmm...its now Jan 2022 and the next Sims game has all but been officially announced (but in name) from interviews with Maxis staff. I wonder how close my predictions will be? I might have to post a "delayed" update for Maxis lol, but time will tell...
Updated see post here please for more info: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/996502/warning-do-not-buy-new-amd-gpu-for-sims-4-serious-reflection-glitch
I thought I'd also show how it appears in the Sims 3, confirming new AMD GPU's aren't processing how Maxis is coding reflections into their Sim games (unlike previous AMD gpus): As you can see the all Sims games (and possibly future games) share the same issue with current AMD GPU lineup. Be warned.
I do and did, but we just re-activated our twitter account today (our twitter @HannaJamesPlay). So its a really small account with no followers yet or eyeballs on it lol. SO thank you so much for doing that! Honestly anybody that could help warn other players or get AMD attention to support the Sims 4 is appreciated from…
Well based on what my friend (who's been coding for nearly 20 years) told me this isn't an issue for Maxis to fix, but AMD since its on a hardware level, even if Maxis managed to patch it he claims it could create the glitch in prior AMD gpu's in game (aka reversing the problem from one current generation to prior…
HAha no worries, I have a cup of black tea waiting for me too! Honestly more eyes we get on this issue the better. That being that AMD gpu's do not officially support The Sims 4 (their words) and warn players!
I have and posted updates to thread (as wolvescreek) linked in my original post. Here it is again: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Reflections-show-backwards-in-mirrors-Radeon-RX-6000-Series/td-p/10125588 This glitch is now well documented since end of 2020, with nearly weekly updates of people reporting the…
