I’m playing one in TS4 atm, my Not so Berry challenge. I might make another household if I need them, then set them as played so they age, but I won’t go in and play with them for a week.
I assume that an EU disc would work on a computer in the States. I believe that origin could flag it up, but it may not. Don’t quote me, I’ve not actually tried it, and I believe it’s worth a go.

Ok, the website I'm using (not going to build it myself, I can't even put a Lego set together correctly) offers the Ryzen 7 2700 in the configuration so I'll get that CPU when I buy the computer.
