I've been simming for a good few years now but took a break part way through sims 3. I am back for sims 4 and really looking forward to getting into the game.

@Kaleeko - I'm pretty much using one light and one light only in all my rooms at the moment. It's a pain but I also kinda like the light. If anyone is trying to get this with an inspired sim that might be your problem as the inspired emotion is the cure for writers block. Turn off any emotion aura's nearby and make sure you're not taking thoughtful showers etc before you start writing.
