There's still one other problem; I can't even get the game to load now! I get the error msg saying: "Unable to start game. Service instialization failed (0x6224dd27)." I think I will have to uninstall and reinstall once more, but at least this time I have a link to a good copy of the EADM and will be able to get Riverview.…

I got it again!! Thanks soooo much Smooch! Removing the old EADM and re d/ling and installing the new one worked! I was able to get the game patch AND Riverview! Whew! I wish though that EA would make this a sp3 file so we can save it. Then we wouldn't have to worry about the EADM getting corrupted. Thanks again!

So much for that theory! I did manage to restore the EADM or so I thought. At least it appears on my task bar now, but it (Riverview) *still* won't d/l properly and I *still* can't install it!! Somebody please help!

Ok, I looked for it and it does appear in the add/remove listings and I also did a search for it on my comp, but all I can find is a couple of shortcuts for it which turn up nothing when I click on them. I see what you mean! In the one paragraph he says kleptos and rummagers can sell their "loot," but in the last paragraph he says they can't! That is a direct contradiction, but judging on his past track record, he probably won't come back to correct it. :(

Is this a typo? I'm wondering b/c unless somebody knows somewhere else to get it, I've only found the pink diamond in a garbage can. I'm playing in Riverview. I'm having this exact problem! I can't patch AT ALL, regardless of what files I remove! I also get that same error msg word for word. Thanks Dandebirds! That worked. I was using IE,but why can't they program it to accept Enter to login? Enter worked fine to login for Firefox and it works fine to login for other websites on IE.

Nobody knows why this is happening? I would *like* to redeem my points that I got w/the game, but can't log in! The login screen *always* appears at the bottom of the window w/the last third of it concealed. Pressing Enter after entering my name and pw does NOT work.

I found it. I went into map view and clicked on the Journalism place which is the only place that had a briefcase icon on the map tag. When I clicked on the bldg, it said "gather intel." :)

I too received my copy of the game in the mail today. :) I was very surprised. However, I've already encountered a bug. My sim can't play chess at all. It keeps telling me that I need to have a chair to play it, but the chair is standing in the right place facing the pieces. :/ Oh well, maybe Tuesday's patch will correct…
