  • I do. The Sims 4 is the most boring generation I've played, and having custom content and mods makes it more exciting. One of my favorite custom packs is the Harry Potter one. The person who created it did such an amazing job!
  • -The Sims 2 lets you do more stuff than TS1, and I love all expansions from TS2, unlike TS3. -I also play it more than TS3, because regarding the latter, I don't care about open worlds if the Sims look ugly and I don't like the design of the menus and the gameplay, or the expansions in general. I borrowed this generation…
  • OMG, I'm going to start a fire just to see Sunny do that! :D It's amazing how even after having played The Sims for 17 years, there are things I haven't seen yet ^^
  • I remember that when I made a factory reset from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, I had to remove an update that was responsible for my game not working. You could try to remove it and play :)
  • @KHS12 If you did every single step I mentioned and it didn't work, I think it's your computer that for whatever reason isn't compatible. I don't know what Windows version you have installed or the rest of features it has. If you like, you could tell us and if we can think of a solution we'll post it :)
  • -First of all, if you can't find the game, as if it weren't installed, I would use the program CCleaner (I don't know if you are familiar with it), and go to Tools/Uninstall. I've always found all my programs in its list, so maybe you will find The Sims there too. -Then, using that same program, analyze and clean your…
  • @FosoSam Don't worry, it's just that since they're the tutorial family, they don't have any interests in their profile. So it wasn't a glitch
  • I guess it depends on the computer. I run it on a laptop and my Sims are the CD version. I didn't do anything special to make it run.
  • But I did play The Sims 1 on Windows 10 last year (only that there were two black bars and couldn't make it work full screen). Do you mean there was an update later on (I uninstalled Windows 10 and went back to W8.1 by September or so) that has made Windows 10 incompatible with The Sims?
  • You're welcome :)
  • It's lot 56, but I haven't found the name in English (my game is in Spanish and her address it's called El Paseo del Inglés, 56). I've circled the lot so that you can locate it:
  • I've always played on a laptop too, so I hope it works for you :# So sorry to hear that. Does that laptop recognize any other dvds? Otherwise you'd need to get it repaired. I recall having installed the Sims on Windows 10 and that it worked (though I hated that I couldn't play full screen) but I went back to Windows 8.1…
  • @Simsophonique Yes, that's the right rute :) Of course! If your laptop is able to run this game, it doesn't matter what version you have. For example, I own the Double Deluxe pack which includes: The Sims, The Sims Livin' Large, and The Sims House Party. You just have to follow the order of installation, as per usual. In…
  • First of all, I recommend you to install just the base game and try it. That way you will know if your laptop can run the Sims 1. If it works, then install only the first expansion you have (I don't know if you have all of them or a few). -It may happen that the laptop doesn't run properly the Sims if you install all of…
  • I'm gonna let you here the steps I followed and that worked for me in Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 8, and 8.1: 1) Install the base game in this rute: C:\Maxis. Once you do this, you'll have the following directory C:\Maxis\The Sims. (So don't install it in the default rute: C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis, that's the important thing).…
  • @Simsophonique This is weird; I replied you in this thread yesterday, but my post doesn't show. Anyway, this is what I wrote; I hope it works for you :) 1) Install the base game in this rute: C:\Maxis. Once you do this, you'll have the following directory C:\Maxis\The Sims. (So don't install it in the default rute:…
  • I have played the Sims 1 in a modern laptop that I upgraded to Windows 10, so that's not true. Now I'm playing it on Windows 8.1 and yeah, that update should be removed because for some reason the game didn't work if you had it installed. Anyone with a modern computer should be able to run it if they follow these steps…
  • Then my guess is that unfortunately your computer doesn't fulfill the Sims 2 requirements. If you buy a more powerful computer in the future, it'll probably work with no problems at all. In the meantime, I hope you can play with that family you've created :)
  • @plushtrap_107 I had the same doubt when I did it, so don't worry xD What I did was saving it under the name: Graphics Rules.sgr (it seems if you write a full stop and sgr it recognizes it as that format instead of a txt file).
  • @plushtrap_107 Okay, if it crashes you might need to modify the resolution of your game. You need to find the Graphics Rules file and modify it (my game crashed until I did this; you can make a copy of that file just in case before you do anything). Once you modify it, you have to copy it to the corresponding folder of all…
  • @plushtrap_107 I could only make The Sims 2 work after doing the following steps: 1) Change the installation route: Default route: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 You need to delete (x86) so that the new route will be: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 It's very important that you install every single…
  • You're right about that folder (I've never understood why it would always be there after uninstalling the game); people need to check if The Sims has been completely removed from their computers to ensure they'll do a clean installation next time. I think the program File Cop helped with that, but I'm not sure.
  • Yeah, I will create the main characters from Carmilla the Webseries ^^ And I may recreate the enchanted library they had on season 3. I can't wait to see which furniture this game pack includes <3
  • @luthienrising @LadyJester Games are made according to which the majority wants so that they will sell better. So again no, Bowling isn't a popular thing. They could have invested the time they spent in that stuff pack doing something better, such as a new expansion pack (that is, if they're not already working on a new…
  • @J_HART20 if you mean the serial number codes that are needed in order to install any The Sims game, it doesn't matter that they're second-handed.
  • Yeah, the vast majority of the Simmer community has asked for bowling. No, sir.
  • It's ALWAYS been an Expansion Pack, not only for TS3; I don't know how you could expect it to not be anything but that for The Sims 4 :o
  • I don't find it odd, I find it necessary. If vampires are going to have their own exclusive pack, that'll be better than a Supernatural pack with little content or features for each creature. Vampires deserve their own space. Well, you might want it to end, but not most of us. We've paid for this game to have fun.…
  • I can only agree with the first part about this game getting old and developers not caring that much about what we want. But honestly, it doesn't have anything to do not having toddlers with not being able to enjoy vampires. If you don't like vampires or don't care enough about them, that's one thing; but you're mixing two…
  • Vampires in the Sims 2 are way better. I loved to go to the city and hope for the Count and Countess to appear and bite my Sims (though I also used a cheat so that they would appear in my lot, which was easier). Besides, in this generation they don't shine like fairies, they stick to the true vampire essence so to speak :#
