That's not what I was asking and I've tried that. Windows, when updating just puts things back as they like even if I'd tried to alter something. What I want is EA in Options to ASK where I want to save my games to, not 'saved to clipboard......'user' OneDrive...' only. It's too much to ask me to fiddle about making things…
It's not so much that OneDrive is misbehaving but that also, if you right press your Save folder you see that the default is to OneDrive. Microsoft interference with a game. That's what I want EA/Maxis to change to give the the option for it to go to D drive or wherever and I've found no way of altering it.
I fondly remember making worlds from SimCity to use in an early Sims game and importing my Sims from it to Sim Golf, where they could work their way round your golf course, criticising your poor creativity on creating it on the way. Of course they brought in Sid Meier, a creative genius to make that game. I wouldn't mind…
If you've got any favourite lots that you've saved or built yourself make sure you put them anywhere in a save to stop them disappearing for ever. That's if you are as angry as I was, getting rid of them all in that folder! I'm going to save them again to get them back properly. That's Microsoft for you. They'd love your…
Found the Tray Folder. It was in OneDrive, which I had uninstalled after having a lot of trouble with it. Seems the game still kept putting stuff into the Cloud. I deleted everything in it so now have none of my lots at all but they're still in the game where I've installed them. Complete mess. EA should have given us an…
Interesting to see the development of Sims 5. I'd want to make sure it had safeguards in that it won't allow younger or vulnerable Simmers to be trolled, swamped by other more powerful Simmers who appear to form a clique of their own very shortly after the arrival of any iteration. The power to play privately without…
Yes, every one and it tells me so. Letting me know if anything new comes out they'll let me know. It might flash then? Maybe it would be better at the bottom left hand side of the screen?
As EA have got rid of 5% of their workforce recently I wonder if they have much money to throw at it. It'll take a much longer time to come out. The longer it takes the more likely it's going online always and AI based because of the greater power of the new machines coming out with whole worlds to explore in the Cloud.…
I have it. I have no flashing light. Has this been dealt with already? Could this be because I turned off dynamic lighting in 'Other' options? This made my laptop keys light up on my gaming laptop and it got rid of that.
I didn't notice it at all until someone complained about it flashing in their game. It doesn't flash for me. I pressed it just to see what happened and got the heading 'You've seen it all' as I have every pack. I wasn't directed to any game merchandise. I go directly to the Sims4 game screen usually from a Sims4 Taskbar…
I just opened my game today and found the trolley mentioned. I have all the packs. I clicked on the trolley to see what was being complained about and it told me that I had everything but did NOT send me to a shop to buy Tshirts or anything else. It was about buying new or packs you don't have yet. It might even let you…
I managed to find a lot of Sims pages on the Wayback machine. Even BBC information on The Sims and interviews with Will Wright etc. I registered there but even today there are some organisations that want to cancel stuff. They asked for support some time ago.
When making an 'bucket' for instance could you please put 'bucket' in the name. I've now got all the packs and spend ages trying to find an object because you have given it a fancy sounding name and one has no idea where to find it! I'm trying to decorate a house, not playing a memory game. It's giving me eyestrain trying…
I hope this doesn't lead to the mess that I had years ago leading me not able to access Sims 1 and 2 because my name and password weren't ported over because I hadn't got the message in time to choose new ones. I could only play 1 & Sims 2 with my old name and lost all the extra packs and stuff I had bought in the shop.…
I see that EA/Maxis are giving packs as prizes. It's just like house insurance, OS broadband prices and everything you've bought from the same firm from the beginning. You don't get any prizes at all but an increasing amount to pay out! The only thing is that you can change the two former and get better deals. Not EA. How…
Is your virus checker blocking it in some way? A question of granting permission? I always run EA updater before I run any EA game now. They keep messing about with it. If it's Windows 10/11 you have to change the settings now to run other apps (with your own permission setting) as well as Microsoft Store only ones because…
I've never used 'move objects' in my life in this game and I get the same message when using my own lots for the game. I just ignore it. It might be because I use lots made before the Gallery updates or downloaded someone else's lot that did use it once.
Just a point on early medieval castles. The moat wasn't a scenic extra. It was a defence, right up against the castle walls, limiting the ways in which the castle could be assaulted in times of war with scaling ladders, battering rams etc. It also was a dump for the privies (loos), so castles usually were evacuated for…
That's much better than my effort today. I forgot to check the front view and when I built the base I found I couldn't turn it around as it was too wide for my lot! I like the stonewalls and floors though.
Made or tried to make my first castle. Chose too small a lot and found I'd got it sideways when saving and cannot turn it round. Oh well, I'll save and try it on the largest lot I can find! I find the balustrades are too big for a small castle. We needed some narrow doors to the turrets too as they are all double width.…
SimCity 4 Rush Hour was a delightful game on its own and I'd love it to be remastered so that those who loved it could play it again on powerful modern laptops, PCs, without having to have outside mods or advice as how to enlarge or change the resolutions etc. The more convoluted a game gets, the less enjoyable to play is…
If they were really generous they could have made a portcullis with drawbridge that went up and down but nevermind, I expect another Sims game will get it right - eventually. o:)
The castle kit bits will add a lot to the vampire builds. We could do with some torture implements of course! ;) I remember a lot of these sort of things when The Sims first came out. Some Simmers went to the dark side!
My interest is in the Castle build but my niece and her husband are Goths still in middle age and go to Whitby every year with their friends who are also Goths from a long way back. It seems once a Goth always a Goth!
