The machete has a 30-40% chance of breaking, that's by design. The potential issue I'm seeing here is that sometimes you get a notification that your machete was consumed/broken, and sometimes you don't? We'll investigate this. :)

I'm being told this is by design. You can't generate laundry while not on your household lot. This includes if you go to another Sim's lot, you can't generate laundry. Also if you're at your home lot and just walk off somewhere else (like the street) you don't generate laundry there either.

We only preserve favorited families. The minimum LOD that you describe is the Sim's thumbnail and name, and that has no generational limit. An unfavorited family has no protection, and could be culled instead of being set to minimum LOD.

Any household in the "Other HH" tab is susceptible to culling, so yes this basically replaces the old mechanism. To further clarify, the Unlimited option for the Maximum Sim Count feature means you can add unlimited Sims to My Households, and make them protected. But they still need to be manually added to My Households.

Dead Sims in your older save games are put into their own household that is hidden. These hidden households are unfortunately counting towards the Sim Count. This is something we'll need to fix on our end, but that's why you're having this issue :)
