  • We're hearing reports about the StrangerVille page within Origin redirecting people to the Digital Deluxe page, making it impossible to download the pack. I'm hearing this is a caching issue that should be resolved now, please try restarting your Origin, thanks!
  • @Dannydanbo The Bar and Library have special tuning for who will show up. There are also a couple extra interactions on some of the objects at the library. This specialized stuff works no matter where those venues are in the StrangerVille world.
  • @AlbaWaterhouse To be honest, I'm not completely sure why those objects weren't included in the build catalog. I do know that world objects are built to different specs than on-lot objects, so there may be some restrictions our Art team was bound to when creating those assets. I'll be looking into it. I can't make any…
  • You can have multiple Sims help with the story/investigation (you'll end up needing to transfer some things from one Sim's inventory to another in some cases), but we primarily designed around one Sim driving the investigation forward because we couldn't expect everyone to play with more than one Sim at a time. Hope this…
  • One of our goals with this pack was to get the story to feel like it was part of the simulation and not some weird thing we shoehorned in. I'm sure the judgement of how well we accomplished this will vary from person to person, so I'm eager to get peoples' feedback. I think I know what you mean about feeling like it's YOU…
  • Sorry you haven't been able to find this information, we should've made it easier to find! Here you go: * StrangerVille a game pack that comes out on Feb 26th for the standard game pack price ($20 in the US, different prices for other regions). * It's a regular world with 11 editable lots and 1 special lot. * There's a…
  • There are ways to replay it within the same save. The way you make that happen is part of the story, so I don't want to spoil it.
  • We aren't doing spiral stairs. I really want these too, but I don't want you all to get hyped for something that's not in the pack. Sorry!
  • The infection won't spread outside StrangerVille. There are ways you can infect Sims in different worlds, but even that will be limited to what you make happen (it won't become some epidemic that grows out of control). Once it's solved, there are ways to get rid of the weirdness or embrace it. I won't say more so you can…
  • It was an interesting challenge designing the story for StrangerVille. As you're pointing out, players can change who lives there and even what the lot types are, so we can't rely on those being the same as what we ship. We did include a few things specific to some of the pre-made households and their houses, but it won't…
  • Although the overall story is something we've created (rather than something that's completely yours), we've tried to make it so that you can progress through it in multiple different ways and take different approaches to things depending on who you want your Sim to be and however you think best fits into your own story.…
  • There are two completely empty lots, three lots with unoccupied houses, four lots with pre-made Sims living there, two venues, and one special lot.
  • Please note that if you watch other people play through the mystery of StrangerVille, there will be spoilers. They'll be playing through the same story that you are.
  • I've seen a lot of people interested in this, so want to clear it up. The motor home is world deco. There seems to be a ton of interest in motor homes though so maybe we'll have to do something with them in the future. There's a lot in one of the neighborhoods that is built to look like a trailer, but it's not quite the…
  • Sorry, I wish I could tell you all the things right now, but I can't just yet! More info is coming. :)
  • Sims can live there and we haven't revealed everything this pack has to offer yet. I'm not trying to say you must like this pack or anything, but your assumptions are a bit off. Hopefully you'll feel differently as more info comes out. Cheers :)
  • I don't want to spoil any of the mystery/story for this pack, but I want to put your concerns to rest: the infected Sims will not spread to other worlds; it's an event that's contained within StrangerVille.
  • Thank you! I'm glad people enjoyed it; it was a lot of fun making this pack and a lot of fun introducing it like that. We're all looking forward to seeing people react to the pack and the mystery in it next week. As a designer on this pack, obviously I'm a bit biased, but I think it's one of the coolest things we've made…

  • The Wellness Treat isn't supposed to make your pet feel bad. It's supposed to cure any sickness they have and prevent getting a new sickness for a week or so. Sounds like buggy stuff might be happening; I'll look into this. Thanks for bringing it up. :)
  • I've been hesitating to respond in this thread because I didn't feel there was much I could say to make Builders feel better. However, Grant's recent twittering (and some stuff happening around the office) has me feeling more optimistic about finally getting some traction on all the stuff the build community (and myself)…
  • This hits the nail on the head. I know I've wanted to reach out to help reassure the community that things are going well, but I haven't had the time to figure out the right way to express it. Thank you, Graham, for figuring out how to say all this the right way!
  • We should totally put loans into the game (this doesn't imply it's something we're working on, just that it sounds like a good idea). But you can kinda do that yourself right now with money cheats if you want to. Write down how much you gave your Sim with the cheat, then make them pay it back with or without interest later…
  • No, the aging setting applies to all Sims, including pets. Also, there are special age-up and age-down treats you can buy in the vending machine at the vet in case you want to turn your old pet back into a puppy/kitten or vice versa.
  • Sorry you're running into trouble. Have you checked to make sure you don't have anything in your Sim's inventory after crafting completes?
  • Sounds like a bug, sorry to hear it. As an alternative, try buying a Wellness Treat from the Vending Machine at the clinic (if one isn't there, you may need to go into Build Mode and place one). The Wellness Treat will cure your pet's sickness for only a little bit more than the cost of going to the vet.
  • You're welcome! There's a lot in this patch that we're all excited to get out to everyone.
  • Pets are not supposed to get sick every few days. It should be a few times in their life span (unless you get unlucky or do things that make them sick). Also, if you don't want your pets to get sick, take them to the Vet and get a Check-Up with a Preventative Shot. That'll keep them from getting sick for a while.
