  • I only use the stalls for reproduction. I like the horses and sims to interact on their own since I have an overloaded household on the 'horsey' family I play, out of three families on Dragon Valley. The family was originally for a challenge. That challenge was completed, after which time, an unusual wild horse appeared on…
  • I recommend using a few additional NRAAS mods that enhance playability of TS3 -- Traveler, Porter, MC Cheats, Retuner. I use quite a bit more but these are 'basics' for the default way I usually play. I do sometimes use NRAAS Story Progression and modules such as Personalities for my quirkier games where I'm interested in…
  • Agree with @Springfairy556 (and @Igazor) that sometimes the only solution is to bulldoze, then place a shiny new lot mesh (whatever it's called) there, but there are parts of some worlds where a lot is somehow twisty-turny, and even after removing world decorations (usually trees), putting down a lot mesh of the same size…
  • I've got a hunter cat in my game (I'm not yet playing this challenge). The cat has a wish to catch a turtle and has caught everything else it has wished for in the past four 4 sim weeks (Dragon Valley: I'm rotating between three families). I've decided to place some spawners so I can get this wish completed. The cat has…
  • @Karritz has a tutorial video that you might want to try to fix unroutable areas that exist in a build. Here's a link to her video which is part of her tutorial playlist. The lot is an EA build as I understand it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gsTdw-NF6U&index=4&list=PLFT4tKkKX8Wvc78leOoIOzOBOtemfqERG
  • Set your full moon to happen more often, or all the time. Plant a garden in your yard because zombies like gardens. They also like rocking chairs, so put some rocking chairs into your yard. Only put a locked gate around the plants you do not want them to get into.
  • In the past I have done a variety of things. In order to learn which traits give better buffs toward goals, I often used the well oiled machine approach. Depending on the game and goals -- used other methods, for example different challenges require certain traits. Nowadays, I tend to use NRAAS quite a bit to look at…
  • Crin has info on the files required for this and said they should be backed up:
  • I'm glad you got the custom world installed. You're welcome. Have fun with your game!
  • I still occasionally simport if I am in game. You can add me if you're looking for people who simport from time to time. A link to my page is in my sig below. Happy Simming!
  • @Chello - I happy that this method worked for you. You ask: Is there any way raise the fps with that to 60? Sorry. No, not that I know of. When this FPS_Limiter.exe was discussed on MATY way back when, Pescado was asked to modify to allow higher levels, he gave his reasons for choosing 30; remained adamant that "human eye…
  • I'll add the warning. Thanks @Igazor.
  • I see a lot of people getting temperamental help from the various NVidia tools, I have continued to find that I do not need them to control FPS in TS3. My GPU is a Nvidia 1060 on my newish Cyberlink Laptop running on Win10 and v 1.67 of TS3. These tools were designed on the original disk version of TS3 that is on 1.67 or…
  • To reset the whole town from MC after you click NRAAS, take the option for Town and 'reset everything'. Quick answer about Awesomemod: Awesomemod is a core mod. It actual alters/ programs changes in the core behavior of the game and some of the settings that can be tweaked by users can be seen here at a copy of the mod's…
  • If it were my game, since I use NRAAS, what I would do is reset the whole town... it takes a minute or a lot longer depending on the computer being used. Regular users of NRAAS suite of mods, reset their games every four sim weeks or less and also use Overwatch and ErrorTrap. I've always used Awesomemod and NRAAS mods…
  • @jennykush - you posted in two places. I answered your question here just now: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/comment/16708066/#Comment_16708066
  • Be sure to delete your caches before every game. There's one for socialCache.package that pertains to this particular aspect of the game. More info here: https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/faq-delete-your-cache-files.html
  • Consignment: Early in the game, I'll send my sim to the grocery store and buy a couple hundred of the cheapest fruit and cheapest fish. My sim will sell about 50 at a time each day for several days in a row at the consignment store. This quickly raises their consignment reputation so they get better prices for things that…
  • @SPARKY1922 - Awesomemod is a core mod. It actual alters/ programs changes in the core behavior of the game and some of the settings that can be tweaked by users can be seen here at a copy of the mod's configuration tool. http://alpha.moreawesomethanyou.com/ts3/awesome/config.php More about the relationship and differences…
  • I've always used Awesomemod (a massive core mod that might be overkill for many simmers). It includes an option for custom lot sizes. I have never had problems with it (or the rest of the core mod). It's not for everyone but just wanted to mention that it as an alternative.
  • Starting a couple of days ago, after I added a few CC-free sim3packs, turned off Launcher then started game with TS3W.exe Suddenly I found I was unable to log in to help someone Simport. I normally just change passwords, then log back into TS3's wall, this forum, ea.com, and finally Origin -- and something shakes loose and…
  • Unfortunately to the first question, there is no longer a way to stay on 1.67 if you use Origin to freshly install games at this point in time. I don't use version 1.69, but some simmers I know that have no choice, will log into the game, then once the game is running -- put Origin offline and continue playing TS3. Don't…
  • Have you tried this solution? https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/cannot-log-into-the-sims-3-in-game/m-p/6135012#M223807 *rename the files igs,bin and platform.bin inside documents \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SigsCache For example igs.bin.OLD and platform.bin.OLD -apply to both.
  • You can get to Task Manager by pressing three keys at the same time: ctrl-alt-del then choose Task Manager If you've installed TS3 via disk, and your TS3W.exe file will usually default to the following folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe Just right click that TS3W.exe and make a…
  • Are you guys starting the game from TS3W.exe and not using the launcher at all and preventing it from automatic boot up? I have 1.67 on Windows 10 and the only time I use the launcher is on rare occasions to install CC-free Sims3Packs. After which I shut down the launcher and run a batch file to clean cache and temp files,…
  • OH! and OIF... thanks everyone, I missed the Hard drive entanglements; the small SSD issue. In order to to run its best, it's going to need resources to use, or you're just throttling your own system and thwarting the benefits that this CPU, can provide. Absolutely @friendlysimmer -- you're right that motherboard…
  • You have a good question, @friendlysimmer I'm not expert... but I did have experience with an unlocked I5-2500K home-built desktop several years ago.(I've been rolling my own desktops for about twenty years now and I'm still not expert) It wasn't bad but I didn't realize how slow it was til til I had to replace it because…
  • I can never seem to follow all rules of a challenge without making new paths -- I tend to be fascinated by new events and sometimes get absorbed in the side attractions. What I meant is when you post, you include the goals so it's easy to see where you are in the Llandro's plan to explore every part of the game. I've been…
  • @AlHollandiyah - I'm enjoying your system of exploring the game with this challenge and your step by step goals and progress. I'm sorry you are getting those crashes. I find using NRAAS ErrorTrap and Overwatch prevent many bugs from irreparably breaking the game. I hope you do not lose your progress. Good luk and good…
  • @Mikezumi - you're welcome ref the animated gif. I thought possible mini-moodlets may have brought on the broader smile for brief periods of time. But you know your game and character better than I do. Nice discussion!
