  • @SataiDelennn: Why are you taking everything so personally, no one is attacking you. As a matter of fact I'm quite curious, what is it exactly that you are trying to get out of this discussion? If you trying to convince me that JULES and SPARKY where using Windows then I'm afraid you too late. Seera already convinced me of…
  • Well in that case let me start off in saying that I am very glad that I could introduce you to the biggest Linux based desktop operating system and the third biggest desktop operating system overall in the world. I say desktop because technically Android is the largest Linux based operating system currently sitting on…
  • Yeah I suppose, although it doesn't make much sense, I mean why not say Win 8.1 then since Windows 8.1 or Win8.1 usually refers to a Windows operating system whereas OS8.1 or OS10 also known as OS X refers to an Apple Mac operating system. I mean in that sense I can say 08.10 and say I was refering to windows version 08.10…
  • Just out of curiousity how is it possible to play a Game like Sims 2 on OS 8.1 and secondly why would you want to? It came out in like 1998. If you have a system from the same era a G3 I'd take it, you do realise it can be upgraded to OS 10.3.9 also known as OS X Panther but even that can't run Sims 2 SC. But even if you…
  • If I had to make a calculated guess I would say that Norton and the SecuRom software bundled with TS2UC is not playing together nicely. I would honestly recommend you just get rid of Norton, besides Norton is a desease. Getting rid of Norton feels like getting rid of a virus it's crazy, your computer will feel more…
  • @rosemow Alright I'm pretty sure I am now in the clear yet still no joy. 31 Posts with 52 Points and an account over 7 years old :)
  • Maybe it simply has to do with the fact that they re-developed Origin and so the feature was overlooked. Perhaps request it on the Origin or Q&A Forums. As for games without covers that really annoys me. I ahve two games Sims Pet stories and Sims Castaway stories that by default dont have covers.
  • Me personally I'm a huge Sims 2 fan and absolutely hated the third game.
  • If I remeber correctly, Livin Large came with 125 new objects. Those included the genie and servo. So I'm not sure why they not showing up for you. I would recommend maybe running the filecop application.
  • This is abit of a difficult one since both where good for different reasons. Try Bustin Out vs Urbz. Then Bustin Out :)
  • I literally have months spent playing this game, can't believe there are still some responses I have never seen. Talk about a complicated or unoptimised programming algorithm lol
  • Mine has to be TS2, then TS1 and finally TS4
  • All the Sims editions that came out in 2003 included a Sims 2 sneak preview disc including some Deluxe Editions, UK Complete collection and The Sims Full House
  • Whenever I had any bugs like this in The Sims 1 I just ran that Sims FileCop program and it usually sorted it out for me. Give that a try.
  • Ten minutes ago :) When was the last time you watched a Sims trailer?
  • TS1: Hot Date (First time they added an entire new area) Unleashed (The extended neighbourhood with old town was amazing) TS2: University (First time they added a new life cycle into the game, young adult with there own dedicated gameplay) Open for Business (The possibilities of this expansion pack was just amazing…
  • This all depends on your laptop's specs. If you have a modern laptop with a decent gpu go for The Sims 3. If you have an older laptop such as a Intel centrino or AMD turion with a dedicated gpu then I would go for The Sims 2. Finally if you have one of these old cpu's but no dedicated gpu so for example you have a Intel…
  • Alright thanks for the insight rosemow. Will continue my threads quest then :)
  • According to the OP I should technically be a member yet I'm still a new member. I have 52 points. Should I have 50 points and 30 posts? I thought it was one or the other...
  • As far as my knowledge goes, there is a remastered edition of The Sims 2 but only for Mac. It's called The Sims 2 Super Collection. It includes the following improvements: • Native resolution support, including 4K and Retina! • Drastically improved performance, thanks to an all new renderer. • Gesture Support for zoom and…
  • Amazon is a very tricky website and although easy to use its a little more difficult to master. When you go on Amazon, and you have no option other than to buy from a third party meaning you have to click on the "other sellers on Amazon" link, always remeber two things. Firstly look for a seller in your area or town (city)…
  • How awesome wouldn't that be, to see The Sims Completed Collection just appear on Origin in the on the house section just randomly one of these days :) I figure if it was to come to Origin that is how they would introduce it since that is how they introduce all their older games that they have fixed to work through Origin.…
  • Very nice thread to go through, well done. You gotta smile when you look at Sims 1 and then Sims 2 and how even in something like a still imagine you can see it's basically a very well done upgrade of the image before it. Pretty much every single time and then you look at Sims 3 and just how it wears off in the opposite…
  • To the OP, if you still want to know what made The Sims 2 great. Imagine a game unlike any other before it. This game is addictive, it's simple to grasp, complex to master yet stays incredably fun throughout it all. The game is literally limited by your imagination. Now imagine a sequel to that game. The sequel is better…
  • I personally wasn't very happy when I heard they cancelled SimSVille, from the day I saw it in the trailer during the Livin Large expansion I was hyped for it. However the reason given later honestly made sense. Maxis had already split their staff into staff working on Sims expansions and staff working on The Sims Online.…
  • Agreed, I would actually go as far as to urge the OP to rather place a link to the original request on gog. Gog has a knack for getting these types of things done. As canitbeman has already pointed out Gog already has some great old EA and Maxis titles, that are no where else available such as SimCity 3000, Sid Meier's…
  • This could be a disc related issue. Games of this era all did the same thing, they installed the whole game to your hard drive and the game.exe in that directory simply acted as a placeholder to the real game.exe on your disc. When this happened it was usually either a faulty, old or scratched disc or the cd/dvd rom was…
  • The Sims 2 is definitely my favourite. I had hundreds of hours on it with all the expansions and stuff packs as well as thousands of mods. My Sims 2 game was much more open world than what The Sims 3 ever was. I had so many objects and game mods at ever level of the game I could play a single map all the way from an…
  • You install Vacation before Unleashed. If you install it the other way around then when it comes to installing Vacation after Unleashed it will install Vacation, uninstall parts of unleashed, then install vacation again and finally install parts of unleashed again (sound files if I remeber correctly). Takes twice as long…
  • The order of the Original Sims was: The Sims, Livin Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, SuperStar and Makin Magic. However that being said the bundled editions never did play nice with the rest of the expansion packs which was a shame because technically if you own The Sims Full House with The Sims Deluxe…
