Hey there, I'm Alex (short for Alexander). I'm 19 years old and I've been a simmer since 2012. I play The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4.
Okay so, no subscription models and no energy bar mechanic ala Sims Mobile is good, but two Sims games running simultaneously is more concerning rather than exciting. It seems like The Sims 4 is gonna be the typical sims experience while TS5/Rene is gonna be the multiplayer counterpart. Very very weird, but I'm interested.
Unfortunately it's The Sims 5, thats why there's a huge emphasis on "next-generation sims game"; but regardless I feel incredibly hopeless about this franchises future...
God everything about this just 🐸🐸🐸🐸 me off. It seems that build mode isn't even a thing and they're focusing entirely on apartments, plus, why is it being branded as a mobile + HD game?? That's like PS3 level weak.
Pretty much the exact same story. I started playing 3 in 2012 and I was obsessed with the amount of customization, it also wasn't advertised as a feminine game at the time so my parents got me a copy. I ended up getting 4 on release but that was a waste of $59.99 on launch.
I'm not completely against the next game being F2P considering The Sims 4 already is but my thing is, how's the DLC structure gonna work? They're not gonna make any money in the first few months of release up until we get the first pack. Unless, they turn it into an even more aggressive Sims 3 store model. Who knows, but…
The little among us blob bit showed a classic sims clock so I'm not sure if they're gonna abandon that. Also, I thought about what Lyndsay said in the summit in regards to Rene "Over the next couple of years" usually refers to 2-3 years, and this was in 2022 so maybe a 2025 release just in time for the 25th anniversary…
A few things: -It seems to be an open neighborhood setting kinda similar to what they had in the console version of The Sims 3. -Multipurpose lots for the very first time in the franchise. -Apartments in the base game but there doesn't seem to be any houses. -Emotions are most likely gonna be shelved in favor of reactions.…
Yes, it's gonna be on twitch as well. I just noticed that the summit was a little over a half-hour long and the first stream was 23 minutes, while today's stream is expected to be 15 minutes only. They seem to be getting shorter and shorter.
Here's what I think we're gonna get today: -Horse Ranch gameplay video -Concept Art for the next packs -Rene CAS/Build Mode footage with an interview with one of the Gurus working on the game.
I don't think anyone here is saying that we won't be getting more Sims 4 content because we absolutely will. We probably have 4 or more expansion packs left along with tons of more content! The point is that time is ticking and TS4 isn't gonna last forever with Rene in development.
Thanks for tagging me! I love Roaring Heights if it wasn't obvious, lol. I used to take my sims' kids to the boardwalk all the time on the weekends, and the fixer upper car was so fun to work on!
I don't see people reacting negatively to Maxis ending support for TS4, we've done it for 3 entries so far it's the norm; and it's really not worth it to boycott the game considering it'll be a traditional sims game like the past 4 games we've gotten. The Sims 5 is just gonna include optional multiplayer for those who wish…
> @ULIBABA66 said: > Yea no way they would drop Sims 4 just like that, they continue to get easy money and all of you think they would end this series despite it being incredibly profitable for them? What is this...no matter how much any of Simmers keep denying it, it won't change the truth, whether you like it or not,…
> @Lenny_Ogg said: > What we also shouldn't forget is that there are already three other life sims that will be released sooner or later. > So the Sims team should really combine their forces to not mess up Sims 5 too. > Which is also a reason for them to drop Sims 4. Exactly, Life By You releases in Early Access in…
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but production on new content for The Sims 4 will end in the next two years. EA go all in when it comes to a brand new sims game, The Sims is currently the biggest it's ever been and they're gonna want people to switch over to the next game as soon as its out. Currently, it seems that…
When I said that 2024 would be the last year for The Sims 4, I didn't mean the 5 would be coming out too. 2025 is 100% the year Rene will release as it'll be 3 years since they announced its development. The Sims 4 isn't gonna last forever and it most definitely will not last to 2028.
I hope they take The Sims 3 on Console into account when discussing the worlds, TS3 on PS3 & 360 had open neighborhoods instead of a fully open world because of the hardware at the time; maybe they can do the same for TS5? Oh, and I hope we get an estimated release date (or at least the target one) it would make the wait a…
Rene has been in development for a quite a few years now, I expect 2024 to be the last year of Sims 4 content with maybe one last expansion releasing the following year. I like TS4 but it's overstayed its welcome at this point.
