  • Any solutions, workarounds, or mods that help? Glad to know it's not just me doing it wrong, at least.
  • After quite a long hiatus, I've just started playing again and decided this was a good place to start. I'll be starting an ISBI challenge. I won't be blogging it, however, as I really don't have the time to keep up with it as well as I'd like to. But hey, it's something! I'll share any crazy moments at least, if I can.
  • Ctrl + F allows you to place quarter (triangular) floor tiles. Not sure about F5. I must have missed that one.
  • I use a trait randomizer for mine -- not the Pinstar one since they don't have parental traits. It does take quite some time, but now I have four families of teens and kids (with one young adult) that I can drop into my neighborhood. You can also go to the gallery and look for things with the #LegacyLoves tag, though I'm…
  • I'll have to check for this too! Now I'm imagining that the reasons Sims aren't sad if you don't do this is because they don't know. They're all like, "Hey, where's grandma? Guys? Guys? Why isn't anyone answering me?!" And what would be even more awesome then (and that I'm pretty sure doesn't happen) is that they'd get the…
  • I'm in the same boat. My second generation spouse had smaller eyes. I've been "cheating" a little and modifying them in full CAS after bringing them into the household. I don't know if it'll carry on in genetics or not.
  • I've had this same problem but it wasn't until I had it happen on my second couple in the household that I started looking for a solution. I managed to get around it (this time at least) by waking up everyone that was in a double-bed, setting one couple to woohoo, then setting the second couple to woohoo, and then setting…
  • You just need to turn off auto counters and you can see all the extra options. (Some of them are pretty neat looking.) There's a Youtube video here. I'm sure there are others as well.
  • @FloorRaisin -- Are you directing based on whims? I had a slob Sim raised from a baby and though he had the rummage in trash whim, he never did it on his own (despite available trash bins nearby).
  • @Megg87 -- Just like how I aged up a townie and then realized that might not be allowed and went back to check the rules? (Totally okay.) Sometimes I just get so into playing that I forget there are rules I'm supposed to be following.
  • I just noticed that the updated scoring no longer says we have to keep career rewards in inventory. You have no idea how happy this makes me. I can never find anything in my family inventory because of all the junk I have in there.
  • I've taken to putting the Sim's name in the epitaph, name of the item, or the description, so that even if it gets erased, I still have a record of who it was, etc. Not ideal, but it'll do for now.
  • I read on another thread that ghosts are being culled with townies, at the exact same time. I haven't had that problem happen but I keep my townie list pretty cleaned out. (I merge them all together into full households and move them into houses, or delete them.)
  • I've had it rarely happen, and always on things with bowls. Since it hasn't been as consistent as what you're seeing, though, I always just cleaned it up and tried again and then it'd work.

  • Yeah, I agree. The reason I'd want it to be renamed is half because the word "evil" makes me ten times more uncomfortable when applied to a Sim I'm playing than schadenfreude does. The other half of the reason is because I read a description of it that makes it seem that's 90% of what the trait does -- the opposite of the…
  • I kinda want a rename on the Evil trait. Doesn't seem truly evil to me... Can we call it Schadenfreude instead?
  • Yes, they're my only "random" move-ins. All my other populated houses are from households I made or downloaded to fill out my town.
  • Actually, now that you mention this and I think about it, they don't show up in Manage Households either. This is smelling more like a bug and less like a feature. I can probably bulldoze and replace the lot if I really have to.
  • Thanks for the advice. I decided to keep him around for now. If things get too bad, I might kick him out as a plot point. Right now, I just have him avoid the house. Heh.
  • I haven't seen any in my park either, not since the first time I visited. I thought it was just my bad luck but maybe there's a problem there. (I'm gathering from my neighborhood instead.)
  • Awww, super sad! (You inject so much emotion into the actions of your Sims. It's pretty awesome.)
  • I'm looking for some advice or suggestions. Trying to avoid spoilers (because I haven't gotten the blog post for this up yet), I married someone into the household and then found out that they have a "bad" trait that will probably cause them to be miserable and to make everyone around them miserable. I'm waffling between…
  • Yay update! (And yep, Clem is still totally hot.)
  • Perhaps a silly question (and I might be overlooking the answer but I tried to look, honest!) but can you move the family to a different house once they have enough money? The house or lot I'd choose to start with (assuming usual starting 20k) is not the one I'd like to end up with (more middle-ish on the cost, 40 to 50k…
  • New post: Pajamas -- a death, a wedding, a dinner party, an almost-fire, a new baby, and way too many pajamas.
  • Gah, he's so ugly-cute! I'm gonna go run off and read the story now.
  • It's via the cake. I tripped across it on accident then double-checked the Pinstar rules and someone had already asked if it was okay. Just have a cake and put on the candles like normal, and have the Sim you want to age up invited over to your house. There will be an option when you click on the cake to age up a Sim.…
  • You know you're allowed to age Coop up if you want, right? I know sometimes I feel like that's "interfering" with the natural rhythms of the town, but .... Coop + Dia 4ever!
  • For the future, if you do the household split (Select the lot, select the button for manage household, etc.), there should be a little plus button on the right side pane for creating a New Household. It's on the top, above the tabs for played and unplayed households. Move your guys to this and they'll get that 20k starting…
