  • That is one thing that really really annoys me about the Sims 4. It takes forever for sims to do something if they're multitasking, and that's on top of them standing around for ages before they'll do what you've told them to. It used to drive me up the wall.
  • Tbh it seems that the bugs in the Sims 4 aren't that far off the level of those in the Sims 3 anyway. So what did they cut all this content for? If that excuse that there's less content for better performance really is the truth (which I highly doubt), then it hasn't worked has it. The bugs are one of the main reasons I…
  • It looks to me like the smallest Sims 4 EP so far.
  • Of course it doesn't make sense, it's a convoluted lie to cover up the real reason that they're not allowed to admit to. Obviously we don't know exactly what that is, but it'll probably be either a design choice, lack of money or time to finish the pack to how they wanted it, or done deliberately so they could make as much…
  • This is shaping up to be CL v2. They seem to have spent ages set dressing and not doing much else. Where is the content? Apart from one new career there doesn't seem to be much of anything else. This is just laughably bad and the sims team should be ashamed of themselves for producing this and labelling it an EP. 11 lots…
  • I selected the last option on the poll as it was the closest fit for my answer, but I didn't have a problem with origin. I bought the base game despite the bad reviews, as I honestly thought it had great potential and I thought about all the amazing content we were going to get to mak up for it. Afterall, packs for Sims…
  • Can't do? What a ridiculous excuse, it obviously can be done because it was done for the Sims 3, and for cats and dogs. I refuse to believe they "can't do it", but rather don't want to do it or don't have the budget, or (what I think is the case) the higher ups have told them not to because it would stop them making…
  • I hope not, we really don't want to be going down that route.
  • Apparently they focused the most on Summer, yet so far Summer sounds incredibly bare bones. That makes me worried about what the rest of the seasons are going to be like. When they say they really focused on x, that usually means that nearly everything else in the pack is lacking.
  • That does seem to be all we're getting that's actually new (that said wasn't the calendar in the Sims 3?). I've looked at the lists of "new features" and nearly every single one has been done before. The only genuinely new features I can think of are the thermostat, the sim lightening powers and the kiddie pool. Whatever…
  • I totally agree. I am absolutely sick to my back teeth of it.
  • I'm pretty sure we won't be getting one. If we had a colour wheel they wouldn't be able to cut corners by making recolours and selling them back to us as new objects.
  • I agree. Even if it carries on longer than 2019, I suspect we will just get SPs and no longer get any gameplay enhancements in the form of GPs or EPs. The fact that they've made many of the people involved with bigger packs and more complex aspects of the game redundant isn't a good sign, and to me that means we won't be…
  • Yeah that really doesn't sound good. None of the official tweets so far about the future of the Sims have instilled confidence, they all have a tone that suggests there's something to hide and that they know we won't like it.
  • What's interesting is what Will Wright said about the longevity of the Sims in a 2009 interview. He pretty much said that the Sims will last as long as the franchise is managed well and the quality is still there. Looks like he was right and we have our answer.
  • At this point I think it could well be a lootbox/microtransaction system, likely based on the one in the mobile game.
  • I wouldn't be surprised if the new "experience" is a lootbox or similar microtransaction system. After all, AAA game companies have as of late liked to play them up as a "feature" using the idea of "maximising player choice" as a reason.
  • Exactly. I never used a single mod in my game and it was extremely buggy. Almost every gameplay mechanic was plagued by bugs. It was one of the main reasons I stopped playing, because it made the game highly frustrating and pretty much unplayable for me.
  • Definitely the Sims 2. I loved the Sims 1, but the Sims 2 massively improved on that game to the point I don't need to play it anymore (I do miss the really wackiness of it though, especially Makin Magic). The Sims 3 I had a go at playing, but I just didn't like it or the direction it took. I wasn't that bothered by the…
  • I haven't had anyone die in the Sims 2 for quite a few years now, so I might be wrong about some things, but basically when a sim dies, everyone who is on that lot runs over and mourns the person by crying their eyes out (it's quite intense), even while the grim reaper is there and hasn't turned them into a grave yet. When…
  • I also think they should've let us have the ability to create our own festivals. This kind of gameplay mechanism is clearly possible in the Sims 4 because they did it with clubs in GT. I like having as much creative possibility as possible and creating our own festivals meant we wouldn't have gotten bored after doing the…
  • Completely agree, City Living is terrible and it's actually the reason I stopped playing the Sims 4 and refused to buy any more packs. I also bought it discounted and still felt ripped off (50% off). The apartments are one of the worst things for me, I was so angry when they revealed that you can't build them or move them,…
  • I completely agree there about the Sims 3. I didn't like the Sims 3, but I still find it to be way better than the Sims 4. It stands out from a mile off, and I only played the Sims 3 base game with no DLC.
