I really want to play the Sims 4. I have to say it's not as appealiing or as much fun as the Sims 2. Unfortunately we are often forced to move on to newer game because the technology doesn't allow us to play those older games on new computers. It is sad at how many really good games have been lost over time because they can no longer be played on newer technolgy. We get music and Films being updated so why not old game? It would teach a whole new generation of younger people the fun games we used to have

  • I have not seen any of his reviews before and his dry sense of humour did give me a chuckle I have to say. I can understand to a certain extent after playing Cottage Living. There is indeed not enough time to do everything. Raising animals, growing plants and interacting with the locals, running errands, entering the…
  • Thank you for the tip. yes the bee boxes are very useful and the swarms for evolving the plants. I haven't had the time to experiment with a lot of indoor or sheltered plants. I agree with you about the scientist career. I haven't played it for a while with newer packs installed but previously when Seasons came out, all…
  • Yes it will be interesting. Gardening with the seasons has not been a lot of fun in the game for me. Pre Seasons it was easier to find and graft plants. Now it is a waiting game with plants growing at different times of the year and when they don't grow properly in their growing season this makes it frustrating. Often…
  • I am looking forward to this pack in general but I have reservations about how things will grow with Seasons pack installed. Already in my game the plants and collectables do not generate quickly enough. Our Sims can't just go to an area and find things growing and it takes time for them to spawn and grow. It means…
  • Discover University is probably the one I would choose. This is primary due to the game play at University. Bikes don't really work, often classes clash and your Sim cant get high grades because of it. I always took my Sims off to university in Sims 2/3 and I only see the worth in doing it in the Sims 4 for certain aspects…
  • I play very much a vanilla game and try to work around what we are given. I really can't be bothered using cheats and mods these days, or even building my own houses. Not that I haven't in the previous Sims games, but I prefer to find a way around without doing those things these days. I guess I must be feeling my age and…
  • Thank you for your comments. I started over and unchecked the NPC voting but left the other option on . I am still unsure how the voting works. I went around all my playable sims in the same area and had them vote as much as they could but noticed the one with the highest vote didn't get chosen. It all seems a lot of work…
  • As someone who has played the Sims since the Sims 1, I don't dislike the Sims 4, but with the Sims1 and Sims 2 I spent a lot of time playing and was sad when they came to an end. For me the Sims 4 does not have the addiction that previous ones had. I find there is no real direction and I have been disappointed with some of…
  • Hi Tessie. I too have been playing the Sims since the Sims 1. I have found it harder to get inspiration in the Sims 4 maybe because I found the Sims 2 fired up my inspiration to play in many ways. Have you explored everything the Sims 4 has to offer? I know it can be easy to keep doing the same things over and over again.…
  • Even installing a room stat makes no difference, I wish they would address this issue. We can put plants undercover why not swimming pools too! I am now wondering if putting a pool in a glass house on a community lot makes any difference. Has anyone done this or built a swimming pool indoors on a residential lot? Is this…
  • Depends on what I am doing in my game. I like the challenge of keeping my Sims going for as long as possible but if I am exploring new things in the game I like to turn it off to find out as much as possible. One of the things I like about playing a legacy game from time to time as my Sims have a shorter life span and I…
  • I agree! I also play with autonomy off unless doing a game challenge which requires it to be on. It is tiresome having to keep cancelling tasks which I didn't want the Sim to do. I like to be in control of my game so my Sim can achieve. I played all The Sims 1/2/3/4 this way. I must be a control freak LOL
  • The Sims 2 is my favourite so far. I could play the game as I wanted to play it. I loved the video out takes for achieving important moments in my Sim's life. I could make neighbourhoods as I wanted them and also try the many "game challenges" that were made for the Sims 2 which where fun to try out and see new things. I…
  • I have been playing University since I bought it before Christmas and have found that eating at Uni has been the hardest part for my Sims. The Sims manning the food units take ages to turn up when my Sim is starving, and food is going off in the Dorms continually. This is not so much of a problem when you are taking a…
  • I'm not exactly bored with the Sims 4 but I don't play for as long as I once did. I understand in some ways how the OP Cinebar feels. I lose direction and inspiration in the Sims 4 game. The reason is the Sims 4 feels disjointed to me. The order in which expansion packs and other items added into the game have not been in…
  • If the Sims 5 goes online only, cloud saves only, MMO gameplay, it will be the end of Sims for me. I have been playing the Sims since the Sims 1. I have enjoyed playing all of them but especially the Sims 1/2. I enjoyed the content of the Sims 3 but found the open world too much for me to play; I couldn't play it for too…
  • I rarely see chance cards since I added new EP/GP/SP into my game. I love my Sims to go into the Mixology career to get the Snaggle Fluster drink, especially when first starting out with a new Sim. The Sim in my household had this "chance card" come up so many times, it was frustrating that it was rejected as a "dud" every…
  • So glad you feel that way invisblgirl! We all want to save the planet, perhaps if you felt that strongly you should not be playing games or indeed doing anything that causes environmental damage. Very strange comments! So tell me why vinyl LP's have suddenly taken a come back? You need to take a step back, and yes we had…
  • Chest wont replace going into our Sims personal inventory where we need to use items. But yes I remember the chests they were very useful for things we wanted to store and find later
  • Yes we see relationship points over the heads of our Sims but if your Sim doesn't already have that person in their relationship panel they don't show up as a Sim they know. If your Sims get relationship points they are so small to be insignificant in my opinion. Fish can be put in the fridge to use in recipes but it does…
  • I have had a lot of fun playing the Sims 4 BUT I find many aspects to the game frustrating and time consuming, by that I mean trawling through inventories that contain lots of items to find the one things you want. I often think back to the Sims 2 and think how I played that game for more hours than I care to admit almost…
  • [/quote]Hello @PrincessrozeeS Does your sim have the marketable reward trait? This has been causing issues with the crafting machine. Some simmers have found that removing that trait has helped with the issues. You may like to post feedback on this AHQ EA thread…
  • I am sorry to resurrect this post but I have just started having this same problem in the game that I previously didn't. Before when I made the serum it would go automatically into the medicine crafting machine, but now it is sitting on the top of the machine, this is obviously a glitch as my Sim often "jumps" when it is…
  • That is a good idea but a Sim needs to carry around a lot of things when going to other Lots. So many things get added just through game play and although I do try and clear out, sell fish when fishing and put things away in the household inventory when the Sim is back home. I thought it would be a good idea to have…
  • Personally I didn't find a problem with gardening before although labour intensive but it gave lots of skill points quickly, so I don't understand why it was changed. Watering was a problem at times, but nothing a garden sprinkler added into the game wouldn't have solved! Keeping plants was only a big problem when you got…
  • I never found this a problem in the Sims 3 when playing other households although it has been sometime since I played the Sims 3. I am not saying I don't like JA, the pack has a lot of qualities and things to offer, but I find it repetitive going through the same scenario's to get to where my Sim want's to go. And when…
  • Thank you Tiki5872 and rosemow. I followed the instructions, closed my Origin, restarted my computer went back into Origin and the update is now updating. Back in the days of the Sims 1/2 all we had to do was download an update and install it! Now with online big brother watching our every move things like this can become…
  • I doubt very much Will Wright thinks or cares about how the game has turned out. He has made his money that is what people do, they sell out when they know the time is right, it is business and they move on. That maybe a cynical view but probably true. Many small companies making PC games way back then were taken over by…
  • CK213 - I too am waiting on Seasons and University. Personally I don't understand why these are not out already, they are an important part of the game. But I feel we need to be patient. I don't think that a Sims 5 will be coming out soon, I think the Sims 4 will continue to expand. I will be more than disappointed if the…
