Creator of the Legacy Challenge

Comments

  • If a sim has NO moodlets at all, they take on the emotion of "Fine" and adopt a very neutral portrait. Fine gives you no bonuses or penalities, and no special actions. In my 3 days at creator's camp, it was fairly uncommon for my sims to slip into the 'fine' mood as there was always something tugging at their emotions.…
  • It is, technically, an emotion. In fact it has like +10,000 moodlet points. So no matter WHAT is going on with your sim, when they are sleeping, they are of the 'asleap' emotion. That's not to say that things can't break a sim out of their slumber. If bladder goes low enough they'll cancel sleep on their own to go pee,…
  • For those who haven't seen it yet. I've released a new teaser from the rules regarding the new Succession Law rules. Give it a read and start planning out your family's unique law. Succession Laws
  • You may want to give my article on exactly how emotions work...a read for more details. They are much more meaningful than "Take Evil Shower"
  • Yep! That's a-OK. The whole "Don't hand-craft your spouse" rule is there to keep traits random. If you want to give them a full body makeover, be my guest! The same rule is going to apply in TS4's Legacy Challenge.
  • I'm glad you liked it! After all the dust clears from the Legacy Challenge, I'm going to focus my attention on making other Sims 4 challenges. An Apocalypse-Like challenge Might be in the works, but some extensive testing is needed to see how something like that might work, and right now my focus is on making the Legacy…
  • It is a downside, but not a complete hamstring. The lack of Portraits stings more than the lack of a family tree. Keeping track of your main bloodline is easy... just going from founder to heir to heir will ensure an unbroken chain back to the founder, no matter how deep you go into your Legacy. I'm thinking that either a…
  • The current plan is this: On launch day, I will have a skeleton version of the rules up; enough that you can get started and start playing, but with some of the points categories missing or incomplete. After I do some additional testing and can flesh out the rest of the points categories properly, I'll post the finalized…
  • 7 for the expression, with a bonus point for black hair :)
  • I won't be continuing the Masque Family *in that form*. But that doesn't mean I won't be continuing with the Masque family at all :D.
  • I am going to have a trait picker ready to go with the release of the rules (or the game, ideally) on my website. It will have a surprise twist too, in how traits are calculated. :)
  • Yes and no. Yes in that I will be doing a full Legacy Challenge for the world to see once the game (and the challenge rules) are released, no it will not be *this* specific family picking up where they left off (Though the family and their house have both been uploaded to the gallery so you are welcome to download them).…
  • I don't see a problem with that. You can't count the child as part of your Legacy Family's bloodline, but no problems otherwise.
  • From what I understand, you get 100k for minimal effort up to 3 times. It completely eliminates any kind of challenge that money might impose, so I would call it broken enough to be cheating.
  • I will probably continue the Sim of the Month challenge with the Sims 4, starting up a new 'story arc' for the various sims to follow, with the same basic premise of getting X sim who must accomplish Y goal while obeying Z restrictions in the least number of game days possible. That will be probably come out pretty…
  • Maxibuckle is right. My wife is in her third trimester and we had a major change at my RL job that has me busier than ever, so in light of all that, I've been crazy busy. I do have the makings of another month's challenge, but I haven't had a chance to test her properly. What do you guys think? Hold her for testing or…
  • Just a heads up, no Sim of the Month this January. I haven't had a chance to playtest the sim properly on account on of the holidays. And my chances of getting World Adventures is slim to none. This is the "Vacation" flavor EP, and that was least favorite EP from both the Sims 1 AND the Sims 2. I'm not saying I won't be…
  • The website is looking great Maxi! No clue why you can't download Barry. All of my sims of the month were uploaded with only the vanilla game installed. Other than re-coloring some parts of some of their outfits, no custom meshes or designs were used. Because I'm not getting the EP, future sims of the month will continue…
  • If you are having trouble getting Barry to the needed level of employment before old age takes him, there is no rule against slowing down time for this challenge. Mind you, 1 day = 1 day so your score is unaffected by the game speed you play at.
  • Any level of 'stressed' including 'strained' is enough to get Barry fired.
  • Here is December's Sim Name: Barry Burnaut Gender: Male Age: Young Adult LTW: Perfect Garden Traits: Party Animal, Grumpy, Brave, Heavy Sleeper, Loves the Outdoors Goal: Make over $1,000/per hour in any career. Restrictions: Barry may not Take it Easy or sleep at work. If Barry gets too stressed at his job, he must quit…
  • December's will be posted later today. To answer a question asked, Children birthed by Minverva can count as best friends.
  • That is correct. She needs to have all 7 at the same time as being top of business.
  • Congrats! As promised, here is the epilogue Epilogue: Madison did indeed fulfill her dream. It was her toddler caught the eye of the director and was signed onto the movie immediately. Shooting was rough initially. The horrific screams and scary faces, meant to terrify audiences, were not to be had from the toddler.…
  • Glad you guys like it!
  • OK! We've got TWO sims for this November. First off is the Halloween Special! Name: Madison Lowman Bio: In life Madison dreamt of being an actress in movies. It wasn’t the money, the glory or the fame that drew her to the idea. It was more the thought of pretending to be something you are not and making that your living.…
  • At first, I wrote in the ability to remove promised wants as Juan changed personalities, but I also saw that greatly reducing the challenge. Not to mention, it is perfect insane person logic to want to kill someone because they need cheering up :P
  • Its a risk-reward thing. Keeping your wish list full of little 'wash the dishes' wants will not only guarantee daily wish fulfillment, but also guard against some of the nastier wishes. And there are some really nasty ones. During my playtesting I got one to "Comfort Raj" unfortunately, by the time I went to interact with…
  • Coming up next is October's Sim of the month. For obvious reasons, the "no mid-life crisis perk" rule is suspended for this month. Name: Juan Undall Age: Young Adult Gender: Male Traits: Insane, Never Nude, Friendly, Easily Impressed, Can’t Stand Art LTW: Jack of all trades Difficulty: Medium (but varies during the…
  • While I never wrote challenges for the Sims 1, I did play since day 1. If we were to combine the technical advancements with the days of now with the community and feel of the days of old, we'd have something that is very much greater than the sum of its parts. /Signed
