  • I think the monster is a cute idea, but when I have a lot of kids (and I often do, I like orphanage scenarios, for example) it just... really rough, because all the kids get woken up by the monsters at least twice per night.
  • I switch between normal and long lifespan and I don't think the babies are missing anything.
  • I usually have her marry Don (sometimes they do get married, other times he leaves her in the altar), they have 1-3 kids, then eventually she learns Don cheats on her, they divorce and she marries Darren Dreamer and has a few more kids. I think it's the most plausible story arc for her.
  • I just want them to fix the bug that makes my Sims unable to cook. I haven't played Sims 4 in more than a month, I opened it today, and yup, the bug is still there, my Sim just takes the ingredients out of the fridge and stands there holding them...
  • Dude made millions of dollars, he's gonna be fine. And having a character that vaguely resembles a living person is hardly enough for that person to demand a paycheck.
  • Nearly everybody from Pleasantville (especially the Caliente sisters, Don, Pleasant family, Goths - sans Alexander, sorry - and Kaylynn Langerak), the Mashuga family from The Sims 1, Holly Alto and, of course, Olive Specter.
  • I don't have every expansion pack - is there much to high school in the game, other than going there, doing homework, school projects and having an acting club? I don't think that's too American, sounds pretty much like my Eastern European high school experience, and I feel it's generic enough to be quite universal. I…
  • I wouldn't like it for objects to not break at all, but I do feel they break too often. I like big families, and if I'm playing a family that's like 6-8 people, they have multiple objects per day break, it's a little annoying (and also makes it very easy to quickly master the repair skill).
  • This actually seems to be a rather popular opinion on those forums, but it shows some serious non understanding of how games are made (or just a strong desire to complain about this evil, evil diversity). Creating "gameplay" in its broad sense is a lot more time and effort consuming than making hair or skins for Sims -…
  • I never really liked that pack much, I guess partially because I knew everybody loves it and had very high expectations. Some stuff was cute, but most didn't seem to change much in the game. The things I remember the most was the boarding schools (which were a fun idea, but as a family player I just didn't like to send my…
  • I don't think it was popular. And yeah, it's pretty cringy. I think the problem was that they tried to make it more intense/reality tv dramatic, to appeal to wider audience, but if somebody doesn't care about The Sims, they won't find it entertaining anyway, and if somebody does care, all that manufactured drama will just…
  • They pretty obviously just repackaged an old palette, there's nothing Sims about this. That's a little lame. I think a Sims palette should have some iconic shades, like Plumbob green or Bella Goth's red, or Grim Reaper grey, or WooHoo purple... I guess their palette is better for everyday looks, but I just don't see the…
  • I mean, I don't think it wouldn't be much work, quite the opposite, I bet it's a lot of effort. But if they did that and called it "a big update" I feel like a lot of players, especially here, where people are always ready to pick up their pitchforks, would be very vocally disappointed, because they expect something that…
  • Do babies need upgrading, though? The toddlers are the best they ever were in the series, I feel, and it's not like there's much to be done with literal babies, the ones in the crib. I guess some people really want the option to carry them around the house but that by itself wouldn't be a huge update.
  • I think it's possible to be great at skills regardless of whether you use them for work or not, but I wish there was some kind of... scaling system, maybe? I often play on the long lifespan and yeah, it's a problem that eventually most of my sims will master a bunch of skills, even if they don't use them seemingly all that…
  • I just discovered yesterday that Sims 2 has a feature that I thought was introduced in Eco Lifestyle. Namely, you can use the solar panels to produce energy. I put a big one on the roof of the dorm all my student sims live in and then next time the mailman came, I got a notification that I produce enough clear energy to be…
  • Yeah, that one is weird, especially since the game always recognizes the child's real father in the family tree/relationship panel, so everybody in game, including the husband, knows it's not his child. And I think it's been that way in every Sims game, starting with Sims 2.
  • I had him have a romantic relationship with Katrina, Dina and Nina and had one child with each of them. He worked in the sports career but wasn't very successful.
  • I started playing shortly after Hot Date was released, I think, but I only had the base game for a long time.
  • For many of us that's not really "embarrassingly low", that's normal (or higher than normal, actually). Not everybody is American and I think The Sims certainly does not need to be more American-centric.
  • I'm not a huge fan of those commercials, but they are very retro, that's how game advertising used to look - it wasn't a real footage or photo of the game a lot of the time, just a joke loosely connected to that game. Just look at old Nintendo ads, for example. And some of you would be REALLY outraged at how "false…
  • I think this would either end up being too complicated, or wouldn't change much. I'm more than fine with stages.
  • I like life simulation games, so I will buy it if it's good. However, right now I'm not really interested. I agree with what people said about unrealistic expectations. I'm sure that no matter how good this game is going to be, a lot of people will be disappointed. Also, this isn't entirely on the devs, but there is a…
  • I think there is a limited number of things one can do in The Sims videos, which is why people are coming up with gimmick stuff and more and more build challenges. Normal gameplay videos aren't very popular most of the time for some reason, I guess because it's not that easy to get invested into somebody else's Sims,…
  • Baby Ariel. I like realistic gameplay, I don't want immortal Sims hanging around my town!
  • I don't see a need for middle name, since it wouldn't be used for anything anyway, but I think a nickname/diminutive system would be great. In my native languages we use diminutives a lot. For example, maybe close friends could use the diminutive (so, you'd see David listed as Dave in your contacts if he's your friend), or…
  • > @TomasGrizzly said: > Canes for elders sound good on paper but they walked so slow that they needed over an hour of game-time to cross a 64x64 lot. If you wanted to only send them between the fridge, bathroom, and bed - okay. If you wanted them to actually do something that involved moving more than 10 squares... take a…
  • Seeing my Sims meaningfully multitask, like when my kid Sim is doing her homework while sitting on her bed, and next to her is her toddler sister eating, and they're both talking. It's just so fun and realistic. I thought I wouldn't care about multitasking when I first got Sims 4, but it really adds a lot of charm.
