  • It's going to be the first version of the sims made from the ground up as a 64bit game. TS4 started out as 32bit and got updated some years later, so many design choices will still reflect the original design. The big difference is that 64bit can access a lot more memory. This makes it possible to create bigger play areas…
  • I really like the idea of sims having a set birthday in the in-game calendar. I'm totally indifferent about zodiac signs, the main thing I think is having freedom to choose the birthday and all traits if I want to.
  • That's a totally fair question. Commercial egg production is the worst, but backyard hens have ethical issues too. For a start, where are they coming from? Typically hens come from breeders - large or small - who dispose of the male chicks. Statistically half the chicks hatched are male, so for every backyard hen out…
  • I'm a vegan, so this is a topic that connects with values I have. This is just my thoughts. An accurate representaion isn't suitable for the game's age rating. So the alternative is an animation where the animal vanishes or something else happens out of sight. My concern is that we already live in a world where we push…
  • I really want TS4 sims to be added to and expanded with more personality. This is one area that just doesn't get much attention - but they're a huge part of the game! Currently, I use mods to eliminate the excessive happy weighting from decor. Just taking this out and letting the other game mechanics do their job is a big…
  • Yes, this! I think the work venues should all be editable lots with required objects to function. And on the map. I suspect they were made as hidden, non-editable lots to avoid people deleting them and then trying to go to work with their sim. But I think there is a better option to handle this event. Like when you go to…
  • Yes, the Caboose looks like an old station - but there's another in Conifer Station too, which is the one I'm looking at
  • Maybe. Looks like lots of things change around with the adapting world. Personally, I'd be happy to have less of that if it made some areas playable though. Not just me then! Maybe I can create something like that myself in another lot :) Should be get the assets with that debug code....
  • I'd love to have this. I think the added terrain tools make it more viable. I would be totally guessing though if it will ever happen.
  • A romance GP has tons of potential! City living's romance festival added some romantic content, but I see ways to include more. For a start, some kind of attraction system. Make finding the right partner more interesting, and being with the wrong one more challenging. Someone earlier mentioned parents liking or disliking…

  • I really, really want to say yes to bigger lots because, well, more is more! And I love to build. But honestly, I think the large buildings I've created on 64x64 lots don't perform that well in TS4. Big houses take too much time for sims to walk around, and the sims end up hardly seeing each other. For business and…
  • Quick update - the computer is still working and I've found about 125 mb of cc files. Some files have site names, but others I don't know where they came from. I'll upload them to onedrive and send you a link at the weekend.
  • This brings back some memories. I was a big cc downloader (still am!) and I still have my old computer from the early 2000s somewhere around here. If the HDD is still good it will have cc on it. I doubt I have any complete sites though, more likely bits from here and there. I'll let you know what I find!
  • A circus/funfair DLC sounds fun. It would be a great chance to create new NPCs and gameplay. I keep wanting more NPCs as they make the game more interesting and random. So maybe they can make random opportunities which give sims unique objects and traits/skills? Learning to juggle or fortune telling, for example. I have to…
  • I agree. To a large extent shopping in TS4 doesn't do anything that you couldn't do by going in to CAS or build mode. Exceptions are the furnishing items from the flea market, and some vendor stalls in more recent worlds - all of which I love and want more of. I want more unique items and experiences from actually getting…
  • Yes, something like this would be awesome. I want to choose how to use the worlds more.
  • Having fine as the baseline would be a great start, but as game time passes I'd like each sim's baseline mood to adapt because of their surroundings/life. I think this would bring them to life in a new way. So they don't just default back to happy or fine when the buff influence reduces, instead they default to something…
  • Some well picked lot additions would be good - but I think TS4 has badly outgrown it's lot system and an overhaul would be way more awesome. I'd love a move to a selection of mix and match lot traits that have much more influence on lot function and sim behaviour. Maybe a system where we get to choose a primary lot trait,…
  • That would be awesome! Hope you're right.
  • I don't think EA have said what they intend to do to make it multiplayer? I'd hear their idea out of course, but to a large extent what makes the sims fun for me doesn't make sense - or even work - in a multiplayer situation. Mods for example are a big part of how I play. Customising the game with cc objects/clothes and…
  • I like this idea! It would be interesting to have a 'house satisfaction' measure based on factors, and a sim's overall feeling about the house generates occasional moodlets - good or bad, depending on the measures. I'd like the factors to be more like relationships, rather than have on-off states based on short term…
  • The rebranding isn't for people like us who already play the game. I believe it's intended to refresh the look and remind people the game is still alive and current - effectively a way to encourage new players to invest in buying it. This doesn't directly do anything for existing players, but if it keeps the game's…
  • The warnings about flashing lights on some computer games only apply to photosensitive epilepsy. It's a relatively uncommon type of epilepsy, but the warnings are commonplace on films and games, so I can see how people may think it's a feature of all epilepsy.
  • No, but sometimes my sims go to restaurants and I tell them to steal other sims food. I have no idea why I enjoy doing that, but it makes me laugh every time...
  • I want this too! Being able to do more functions with each lot would be a huge improvement to the game and make worlds so much more flexible. I often make lots with a shop/restaurant on the ground floor and flat above - which work pretty well already, but my sims who work/live there still need another home lot or they're…
  • This all sounds awesome! I like the cyborg ideas with implants and stuff, but wonder how to balance it in gameplay? Should it be all positive as having super-sims sounds kind of like it would make the game too easy? Perhaps there should be new harder tasks to do that they are better at, so rather than just make the game…
  • Sorry, but that's kind of funny! Sometimes it's like the game knows how to troll us. Anyway, if you use mods, there's one called "Unlisted Phone Numbers" that allows you to choose who can and can't call. I like the idea for these lot traits, btw. They're something different to the usual.
  • Could be fun - and a bit useful since some of the really big lots have sims travel a long way to exit them. Being able to use the helicopter as a quicker way to leave the lot would be good.
