  • Ah... thanks for the pleasant memories! Yes, so much in Sims 2 was "fredishay". :)
  • I was disappointed yesterday when my sim Brent received a phone call from his widowed mother... the family was always very close-knit. It was "Flower Bunny" Sunday, and the family had just returned from attending a holiday celebration when she called. She invited him over. First, I wish he could have accepted the…
  • I've dabbled with various faiths in my games over the years, but for the most part I find having religious elements gets distracting. This is a game, not real life. It's a simulation, and that means a lot of things don't have to be represented -- at least, that's how I feel. If I were to incorporate religion as an active…
  • For me, the Sims isn't a game to be won, therefore the concept of "difficulty" is irrelevant. As @Nindigo points out, players can impose their own rules. The Sims, IMHO, is more about imagination and creativity than about playing challenges. That's the really good thing, you see. We can make it what we want and play it how…
  • I have no idea how to lower a foundation. As I said, I am not a builder at all LOL. Can you explain (in very simple terms) what I need to do to lower this? I agree, it looks too close to the edge of the lot to add stairs. I'm sure I placed it on the size lot it was built for since I searched specifically in The Gallery for…
  • I get so frustrated by my teens! They'll be out with their friends and keep rolling a whim to buy a washer or buy a dryer. Yeah, right. This is really what's on a teen's mind when he/she is hanging out with friends.
  • I am quite the opposite. When a new game comes out, the stories of my sims end, and I look forward to creating new sims and exploring their lives. I just imagine that my previous sims are contentedly going on with their lives...I am just not following along.
  • Gee, how high is this girl's charisma? LOL. It must be sky-high. Seriously, I have no clue how to help. We need a polite way of saying "goodnight" and "go home now."
  • I'm a rotational player with one full rotation (36 families) being one full year. I play 3 families per month, so I know when each sim's birthday is. I keep aging off and then use birthday cakes to age sims up from one stage to the next when appropriate. Then I turn aging on for one full day for the townies so that they…
  • I have piano and organ lessons along with most of the ideas you've suggested. One of my neighborhoods recently put in a great new Youth Recreation Center which has everything from art equipment to science labs, musical instruments, and -- at Halloween -- even pumpkin carving stations and bowls of candy. I have lots of…
  • Same here!
  • The stuck plates/books/toys bug is the only problem I've had with toddlers. That's problem enough, though. Right now I'm not playing toddler very much. I'm really hoping we will get an EA fix for this soon.
  • It is definitely an annoying glitch. Resetsim has always worked for me. I still have hovering books though, so I just go into build mode and move them. I hope this is fixed soon.
  • This is Brigid. She was an unattractive toddler, an unattractive child, an unattractive teen, and now, yes, she's an unattractive young adult. Her husband thinks she's beautiful. Of course, he's an erratic sim whose life revolves around grilled cheese sandwiches. For the record they've been married several years and have…
  • Only in the sims do you have to introduce yourself to your twin brother... yeah, that actually happened.
  • Nice to find someone who has a similar play style. I refer to my game as a "gigantic soap opera" that I follow. I find that if I do step in and try to match them up or choose a career, it backfires as often as not.
  • The only time I've ever tried it before was in Sims 2, and it was awful! I couldn't keep my vampire alive. I finally gave up. Even though I'm a realistic player, I do like to find ways to incorporate occult elements into my game. My aliens are "psychics" -- which provides for some very interesting storylines. Now my…
  • Thank you for the information. I was able to go back through Household Management to the vampire I created yesterday, and yes, I was able to give her a fully human appearance. I feel much more comfortable now in allowing a few of my sims to join this "strange new cult".
  • @OEII1001 Oh, tell me how! I'm a very realistic player, but I want to incorporate vampires into my game as a weird "cult" that's luring in new members. I want a few of my sims to "join the cult" but I don't really want their appearance altered. Yesterday, I played around in CAS and created a vampire. I had problems. :( I…
  • Not quite... William's father was the widower left with 7 children to raise. William was one of those 7 children. It's William who is now miserable in a marriage that he knew from the start was a mistake. William and Bonnie have 3 children, and I think I've decided that Bonnie has to go. Once she's out of his life, I think…
  • Whatever happens to these characters can become part of an interesting story. I play a highly-realistic game style, so what I'm looking for is honest advice. If you knew William and he asked for your advice, what would you suggest to him?
  • Pregnant sims could definitely die in Sims 2. Their hunger bars depleted so fast it was sometimes a real challenge to keep them alive. I know I did lose two mothers-to-be that way.
  • Good point! It gives me more to ponder as I lie awake tonight wondering what to do :)
  • Another good idea! I'm still weighing options for him. It's tough to decide sometimes when I get too attached to my families. :)
  • Right now my biggest frustration is losing drones. I send them out to record neighborhood footage and never see them again. (I've stopped sending them out now.) And, yes, I've searched and searched. We need a way to locate our missing drones.
  • I could send him on a photo journalist assignment to Selvadorada or maybe Sulani, but Bonnie can't keep the kids. The game's social worker would whisk them right away. If I did split up the family I would have to play one of the other since I don't have a place for both in my rotation schedule. Decisions, decisions. I am…
  • I am going to look at families in household management and see what arrangements I can come up with. I do want to keep all three children in the game, but William definitely needs help. I am thinking...oh, I have an idea! I have one young woman who has worked as a caretaker, usually for elders. Her last job ended recently.…
  • @Sindocat Thank you so much. I am going to be adding a few flags to my game, and reading the Wiki link you gave.
  • Where do I find these flags? I've only had one gay couple in my game. I think that's because I'm not really familiar with the LGBQT community so it's difficult for me to build stories around issues I'm not fully aware of. Does that make any sense? The new Pride items are encouraging me to learn more. I have a teen sim…
