It's just the effect sticking to him. Going in and out of map view (I don't know how this works when on a work lot, though) or saving and reloading fixes it. It happens all the time with forks, plates, and books for me.

I thought there would be a specific portrait interaction...hmm. Maybe you have to bring them to where you can take the reference "screenshot" of the sim in order to do portraits? It could just be higher level... I haven't tinkered much with painting yet.

Yes. It authenticates it on launch through Origin no matter how you install it, so there's no reason to have the disc in to play.

I'm insanely glad that they added this feature in, but it should be an option and not forced on people who play rotationally. At the very least not touch any green-iconed homes. EDIT: Good to know it's seemingly a bug that it's affecting the played households.

Ghosts have to spawn from their urn, so it has to be actually sitting on the lot somewhere. If their urn is deleted/disappeared or even just in someone's inventory, then it can't spawn its ghost. If there's no physical urn, there's no ghost. The urn may have bugged out and be invisible & inaccessible or it could've just…

As long as you have an urn on your lot, and its resident dead sim hasn't been sent to the netherworld, a ghost can show up. If a sim dies and you aren't currently controlling the household (even if you have played it before), there isn't an urn, so you can only get ghosts out of households you play.
