I have the 13th gen i9 processor. The way I was able to get the game to function was to download and install the Alder lake patch, which was mentioned across this forum and others. I also made sure the games were patched before playing. I googled where to find and download the patches for the games and installed each one.…
I have an Alienware system with an Intel 13th Gen processor. However, I did find a patch that allows me to play the game, and I also found patches for the Sims 3 game that used to download through the launcher but now have to be downloaded and installed manually. Played the game all day yesterday with great results and…
I don't have any issues playing the Sims 3 in Windows 10, but I may think about downgrading down the road if the OS continues to make a lot of my apps and other programs work for a while then let them quit.

I prefer my neat and organize metro interface and having all…
Since my game was still a little slow, I moved my Sim and his house and businesses to Riverview and since then I don't notice a lot of the slowdowns that existed in Sunset Valley. Plus the saved game data is much small in size than in Sunset Valley! Remarkable!
I've been thinking of moving my Sim to Riverview or Barnacle Bay, possibly, but that would also mean moving his businesses as well. Since the speed has increased some per the instructions I obtained online, I probably won't be moving him yet. Might be a project for me down the road though. :)
I already have some mods running in my game so I'm familiar with those. As far as expansion packs, I have them all! And I will look into the rabbit hole rugs/doors. I just want to be able to build a customized version of some of the venues so that I can actually see inside them, tell my Sim to navigate to different parts…
The NHD file is 179MB. I have the Overwatch and MasterController mods both installed in my game. I will have to check City Hall regarding the town's population. I know for a fact there's a lot of residents!
I've noticed a noticeable change in the game performance since I did some "house cleaning" within my game and PC. I didn't realize how many thumbnails were in the featured items folder! I did notice though that saving the game still takes at least 5 minutes or so. I don't suppose there's anyway around that? But either way,…
I ran the compatibility checker on my Windows 8.1 Pro system today like I mentioned I would in one of my replies in this thread. No surprise that there are some things on my system that currently aren't compatible with Windows 10--the graphics/video adapter and sound adapter. Though, I expect in the coming months that kind…
I am a major tech geek--no doubt about it. I follow a lot of tech news as well and thought I'd share this: I read an article today where you can now run the Windows 10 upgrade assistant that runs in the taskbar (little white flag) and check your compatibility with hardware and software (I think). I am gonna have to try…
I loved Windows XP!!! Windows 7 is also another one of my favorites! Windows 8.1 I could do without but since I've had issues in the past with it and due to recent computer issues, I again have Windows 8.1. But being that the Sims 3 works well on it, I can't really badmouth it too much. I do agree though that there is a…
I have Windows 8.1 Pro and it works great! I'm not rushing into upgrading to Windows 10 but I wanted to know for future reference. If I do end up finding out after Windows 10 is out for a while that The Sims 3 does not work at all on the new OS, I won't be upgrading my main PC that I play the game on. I can probably…
The sound of objects issue is hit or miss. Sometimes you can hear different sounds within the game and other times not, but it's livable. However, I am getting little notifications throughout the game stating that an unroutable sim was found and it has their name. What does that mean and how can I correct that issue so all…
Thanks for that info! I am noticing with one mod I installed from the nraas site that the sounds of doorbells, car horns, and doors closing and opening on lots are silent after installing the StoryProgression mod. While I love what the mod does with the new story progression mode, I'm not a fan of some of the silent sounds…
Thanks for your help! I've gotten the framework installed and the MasterController package also installed. I'll see if the mailbox issue still persists.
I've heard a lot of people talk about adding mods to the game. What exactly do they do? How can I find the ones I need to correct this mailbox issue and are they harmful in the aspect of crashing the game or contain malware? I have used Buydebug many times to replace the mailbox with a new one and the issue still happens,…
I have re-applied the last patch that was released. While it seems to have fixed many weird issues I was experiencing, the one issue that still exists and is getting very annoying is the mailbox bug. When my sim goes to get the mail, as soon as he opens it, he jumps from getting the mail to standing near the mailbox. I…
Thanks for your comment! I'm downloading the file right now. Hopefully that corrects the problems I've been having. Is there a reason TS3 development team is gone? That's saddening news to hear since TS3 is still popular and I'm sure there are other areas that could use patches, enhancements, etc.
Although I didn't have storage concerns at the time, when I played The Sims 2 on PC, I tried installing them on an external hard drive. Everything went smoothly--for a while. However, I started having issues with Windows not being able to find certain game files, even though my PC was connected to the external hard drive.…
The Sims 3--definitely!!! I uninstalled The Sims 4 after the second expansion pack while telling myself I would like it. Unfortunately, trying to like it just didn't work. No cars, no toddlers, you can't follow your Sim around like you can in TS3, no burglars, a very limited and broad selection in the Buy catalog, and a…
I think the burglar sims helped to make the games though. Plus, the spooky music always told me something was about to happen which I also liked. Not only burglars and vehicles, but a lot of electronics are missing from previous games too. :(
