Try using NRAAS overwatch and errortrap. But are you using any other mods or cc? Using a custom SP mod in a large world can cause problems at times. What gfx card do you have?

I use a 80 days sim year (20 sims days for each season). My sims life span is 190 days, so each sim, barring unnatural deaths, can experience 2 and almost a half sim years :). I use all weather effects as my computer can handle it easily.

Have you tried running the game with NRAAS overwatch and errortrap? These two mods help performance a hell of a lot. This is a big world so it will have a bigger impact of performance than your standard EA made worlds.

Always, always delete all your save game and world cache files after patching or adding an expansion/ stuff pack. The way this game handles cache files is horrendous and dated. I don't like the supernatural element in the game as well. There should be no reason the world will not work without supernatural as I don't believe I placed anything supernatural, however I can't be certain. Give it a try and let me know.

Sims 3 is a 32 bit application which means it cannot recognise or utilise more than 4gb. The only difference that will occur beyond 4gb is the sims 3 won't have to share the ram with the OS or any other background operation running. The worlds are indeed working as normal again, but I am sure EA will find some way of messing something up as always. They screw up so often you begin to wonder whether they have a dedicated team assigned to actually making bugs and errors in the game.
