The same thing has happened to me and it's been driving me mad but it's good to know I'm not the only one with the problem! And now it's good to have an answer even though there's no solution :( sod's law, the affected sim is in the gardening career as well lol!!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you cannot upgrade video cards in laptops :( Such a pain! I would suggest running on minimum settings and disabling rain, snow, etc. Also, check that your video chip drivers are up to date by visiting the intel website, if they're outdated that will cause problems. Good luck :)
My fingers are crossed for you lol! I'm also waiting for the postman to bring my copy (good old amazon super saver delivery). Not that I can play it yet even if it does turn up today as I'm decorating the room my computer lives in, the computer is all unplugged and under dust sheets.... I must say though, I've been…
There is/was(?) LOADS of pagan stuff on mod the sims for sims 2, I have tons of the stuff  http://www.modthesims.info/browse.php?f=38&page=1&tag=wiccan&showType=2&gs=0 That link just shows a search for wiccan! retailsims.com also have stuff (for sims 2) Can't help with sims 3 as I don't download CC, other than…
Well, I guess no one knows whether it will run the sims 3 or not unless it's been tested? However, I don't see this as a reason for not upgrading to windows 8! All you'd have to do (if there are, indeed problems) is run the game in compatibility mode for windows 7. On the other hand, in the past, the Sims' games have been…
I've seen loads of people who can't get it to work on their tablets. It very much sucks that they've made it so restricted, I don't own (can't afford!) a tablet, a PDF version would make sooo much sense!
This ^ and that ^^ I only use Twallans' mods and I trust him more than EA lol, plus by the time the games are released in the UK he's usually updated all of them and ironed out any hiccups :D
Two things mainly when buying a laptop to play Sims on: Processor and graphics. Go for as fast a processor as you can possibly afford as this can't be replaced later down the line, I'd be looking at least an i5, preferably i7 (not an i3!) and speeds over 2.5, 2.6ghz or so. And you'll be wanting a dedicated graphics card,…
Aww what a nightmare! I've had this happen to me and learnt the hard way too  Nowadays, I have odd problems with my computer often giving me the old BSOD plus occasional game crashes so I'm uber careful. I use Saver mod and have to set it to save every 10 minutes lol! Gets a bit annoying but I've been thankful for it…
This has been happening to me too and it's been driving me a bit nuts! Next time I play I'll have to have my sims move house but I'm not keen on being unable to save during a full moon, my computer has various issues and likes to BSOD randomly so I use Twallan's Saver mod to save every ten minutes or so just in case.…
This keeps happening to my poor witch sim as well. Every time she tries to feed them lol! Strangely, it doesn't happen to her sister who's a fairy. From what I've read elsewhere you're supposed to feed/clean them about three times a day to keep them happy (I've only been doing it once) so I'll be trying that next time I…
Aaargh I agree! She is totally obsessed with my cats, won't stop petting them and goodness knows what else, driving me mad lol  Aside from that, I'm loving everything she does around the house and she's just so, well, cool that I really don't want to get rid of her.
Mods = Modifications. They are small tweaks created by third party developers, not EA and are designed to alter your game for the better. Sometimes they fix things that should have worked properly in the first place lol! Mods are fine to use if you are careful and follow all instructions given by the developer, you also…
So far, all I've done is build a fence around my plants, locked the gate and kept my fingers crossed they don't actually spawn inside the fenced area, which would make the fence useless. I've also placed a Mood lamp (it's a new table lamp, under the Bedroom tab in Buy mode)on the lawn. This seems to draw in the zombies and…
I hear you! I pre-ordered from Amazon and they reckon Wednesday for delivery! But it was cheaper and I do have to watch the pennies. I hear shopto.net are very good at getting stuff delivered on release day but haven't used them myself so I can't verify this, I've just read a lot of good reviews on them. However, they're…
The pics all look great! I'm also in the UK and I've got to wait for Amazon to deliver mine which probably won't be till next Wednesday  I can't really afford it either but that's what overdrafts are for, hehe, I just have to make sure my hubby doesn't find out.... So, I am curious, I see zombies (I think?)…
Yeah, Story Progression can be a burden on your game, even Twallan himself states this. As you say, it's a case of weighing up the pro's and cons and for me, I absolutely love it, it really makes my towns come alive. I think it's just a case of trying it out on your computer and testing it for yourself. I really recommend…
No, I can't see myself using the online features at all. I tried simport but to be honest, it became a grind very quickly, it wasn't long before I went offline and I've stayed that way ever since  I've not heard of this one time licensing business but, to be honest, I own all the Sims' games on disc and would never…
