The number of sims (especially elders) and families that will use hobbies means Arts & Crafts will be more useful and fun for me. My elder sims need a little love and this helps a bit. Cozy nights knitting by the fire is where it's at.

It's usually far more enjoyable for me to make my sim work for what they have than to give it to them. Although I do have sims that are financially well off from the get go because it just fits the character I have in mind. This. A number of my sims to have to grapple with moral dilemmas and reckon with the consequences.

Every once and while I do. I don't like my game to be like a perfect fairytale all the time... some bumps in the road are realistic and interesting to me. It opens up some storytelling opportunities as well-- like a sim trying to find happiness after a bad marriage, or trying to coparent with their ex.

Preach-- it's so important to me that couples feel like couples. And don't even get me started on cuddling while sleeping-- really miss that autonomous action from sims 3 where one sim would often slide over and hold the other in bed. Things like that used to help flesh out romance in the game. Le sigh.
