I was having a problem with this as well, but finally figured it out. So the rival is not in the same club as your sim, but in the opposite club. I tend to mostly play with premades. I then add favorite sims from past iterations and flesh out the family trees by adding parents and grandparents where it suits my stories. I'm so glad I held off on updating this time. Its the first time I've ever not updated on day one. I just had a hunch that something was gonna go wrong. I'll wait til this is hot fixed and mods are updated. Though I'm really eager to try out the fear, wants and sexual orientation features.

@tatselk - I did the same! New Mortimer is a vast improvement over the old one but I'm attached to old Bella. I've just adjusted the skin tone a bit to match the new version.

Been playing ts4 since it came out. And the sims overall since 2000? I took a break when ts3 came out. I really didn’t like that iteration. But I’m loving ts4 🥰

I have deaths activated for all nonplayed households, but haven’t had a single one thru neighborhood stories. Do I have to have aging on for that to happen? Or maybe it’s conflicting with something in mccc. Haven’t figured it out yet.

I have it turned off for my played household, but on for everyone else. The only thing I switched off was adopting children. My game is experiencing a massive baby boom! I turned Villa Vigna into a restaurant and Piccola Luce into a rental. For now the empty lot on the beach is a wedding lounge and the original wedding lounge is a multi-family residential lot. I was really really torn on whether to buy this or not given all the reported issues. But I caved and bought it for the beautiful new world. I'll use mods to fix what broken if I feel like it gets in the way of my gameplay.

@mightysprite I'm on a Mac and Safari, and it stopped working for me as well. Thanks for the tip about Chrome. I'll give that a try. I hope EA fixes whatever is causing it to bug out on Safari though.
