Got tired of the limitations and tantrums of CAW. I shall delete my stalled world, which was pretty poor anyway. A blank world for building lots is about all CAW is good for. And Capability Brown I am not. My world design skills leave much to be desired. (I did say s uck but Sims won't let me say s uck. It's rude.)

  • Some sims seem to be totally resistant. Whether you tickle, threaten, show box, etc the gauge barely moves. I'm playing no quests at the moment, just daily tasks, and I have no clue how you'd fit in a day long failed interrogation as well as doing the quest.
  • Tried it for two days, realised how slow it would be unless I "bought" extra energy, decided I didn't need that sort of blackmail. Uninstalled. Back to Sims 3, for all it's faults and failings.
  • As a newbie owner of an Android Tablet I've only just encountered the play store. I'm very glad I read your comment here about "free" games. I appreciate the benefit of your experience, and will now keep out of the play store. I'd seen a few other complaints about ads on various aps. You don't get owt for nowt, as my dad…
  • I just had to replace my old Windows tablet and ended up with an Android because I was in a hurry and the store didn't sell Windows tablets. Lo - I see on my new tablet I can play Sims Freeplay. Result.... Let's try a new Sims game. Did the tutorial, started to play. Realised I had to use special gold points to make sims…
  • I did have some LOL fun with a fully qualified witch. We went to the graveyard and decided to reanimate the dear departed. While the resulting zombie was grrrr arggghing around the graveyard she hit him with fire, ice, and just about every curse in her repertoire. Oh how we laughed as the poor zombie screeched and caught…
  • I like my weres. I have a lot of weres in my families. They have better endurance than regular sims, so are very good for tomb raiding, erm archaeology. Once they get a bit of practice they can get rich very fast by hunting for gems or metal when furred up. They will eat raw fish and meat when they get peckish - no need to…
  • I love your beautiful nectary. When I got IP I also got the "mended" version made by a fan, so the world worked mostly okay and I was able to play with the resorts. Sims are horribly demanding. They complain if everything is not luxury. They want all the possible foods- that takes up a lot of room. They want entertainment…
  • I played Sims 1 extensively but never tried Sims 2 as my old laptop couldn't handle it. Then I went directly to Sims 3 when I got a new laptop. When Sims 4 came out I bought the base game and played a family for several weeks to try to give it a fair crack of the whip. I HATED Sims 4. I felt it was an awful step backwards…
  • Sooooooo I decided I might have been a little hasty in deleting two sims. I reverted to the back up copy of the game and tried again. This poor woman is now on her FOURTH different boyfriend in quick succession. Another evening's playing wasted on getting no further than "boyfriend". I found where the boyfriend lived and…
  • It was an interesting learning experience with a "disposable" sim who resulted from me trying out the "try for baby" option in the time machine to see what happened. Not sure I want kids arriving in the family at the teenage stage again. Now I know what the romance problem is I shalln't bother wooing reluctant sims again.…
  • I have to admit to taking one family on a VERY long vacation so their kid could get as skilled up as possible. Very handy, the no aging up on vacation….. It took me a long time to realise that you don't actually have to go home at all if you're rich enough - just keep going to a new vacation destination before you get the…
  • I have never modified a tomb so I could play it. I thought it was me being stupid and didn't realise there were glitches until one tomb suffered a disappearing statue in the mirror room. Then I knew that was not my fault. Particularly when it obligingly reappeared after some frantic manoeuvring. I still prefer Sims 3 with…
  • What I have found, doing it properly is that the sleeping bags are way handier than the tents, which need a lot of room in a tomb. My sims all go equipped to burgle erm do archaeology with sleeping bags. I get the shower sprays, the bread, I love "eat morsel", the sleeping bag and away we go. The eye thing really is handy…
  • I got the EP years after it came out and realised nobody was "playing" it any more. I decided not to bother with it. I made some stars just to see how it worked, and then decided to forget all about stardom. The world itself was quite buggy.
  • I cloned a sim, and chose her career to be "inventor". What does she do but burn herself to death, being too stupid to get in the shower and extinguish herself. As I had spend a lot of time building her skills I was not pleased with the urn that replaced her. Not at all. I added Grim's house to the world, and took another…
  • I have a couple of astronaut sims and they not only refuse to stop ageing up so I have to keep using an NRAAS mod to remove rewards and re purchase the "Age Freeze" potion, it is one of the astronauts who was refusing to go to work. Every time he came back from World Adventures he just couldn't go to work any longer. I was…
  • Very nice. I have to admit I do NOT like modern architecture and only ever had one go at making something slightly boxy and different. I've never really been inside any modern homes so no inspiration here.
  • I think I'd have been completely overwhelmed if I'd bought the whole shebang at once. It's taken me years to slowly buy all the EPs. so I enjoyed learning about each one, one at a time. You can turn them off at start up and play a limited game until you've fully explored that particular EP. I like my werewolves. They are…
  • Whatever did you find to do with yourself for the last two years without TS3????
  • The first TS3 house I played was a nasty game supplied starter box with no character whatsoever. It was my first experience of Sim ageing and death because I'd never been able to play TS2 on my old laptop. My two sims got old and died without achieving anything much. I hated the house, the colours, the sims, the ageing,…
  • When you pay £50 or thereabouts for Sims 4, it takes like THREE days to download (no clue what went wrong there) you play it for a couple of months, and then don't touch it again and go back to Sims 3 with never a sigh of regret.
  • I think that looks lovely. Great job! I suck at landscaping, which is another reason I've given up world building, but I love to see what other people design.
  • In Sims 1 I had "myself" in the game. Every Christmas my "lead" family would host a knees up in their castle, to which I would invite myself, and we'd all party TS1 style. I've got distracted from skill building my current Sim 3 self and must get back to it so I can go tomb raiding in person, rather than just watch my boys…
  • Lol, Sims 1! Oh those days of trying to get to be Mayor. Needing what was it - 21 friends or something. I used to achieve that by having my aspiring mayor be present in about five households at once, chatting them up. It was so hard to stop the friendships decaying. Eventually the coveted promotion would be achieved after…
  • Sims 3 can REALLY make you homicidal when it does things like that to you. My sims have been going through a "won't go to work" phase recently, meaning I've had to move them in and out of their house repeatedly, to reset them. You really have to be dedicated and determined to keep playing Sims 3.
  • Quite true Igazor. She was. I've moved kids with adults and just booted the unwanted adult seconds later. Oh how hard it was in the days of TS1 when you had to work at relationships to get a sim to join your household.
  • I bought Sims 4 basic game. I played it for a few months. Had to give it a fair crack of the whip. I hated the nasty limited world again and the cartoon quality graphics and the inability to recolour anything. Meh. I also did not like going back to a game that told me what do to, and sims that died of old age. I do what I…
  • I'm sure I could change the settings quite easily. I probably will when I get tired of eternal summertime, lol. Perhaps it was just a fluke if nobody else has noticed this with Barnacle Bay.
  • I have turned off seasons while creating a world, and yes - Barnacle Bay is set to remain only in summer time. I didn't do it, that's how the game set it up, together with adding the magic shop and the clubs from the other EPs I installed since I last played Barnacle Bay. It just doesn't look that much like a tropical…
  • Yes, I use them regularly. It saves having to find a partner for your sim.... Lazy yes. Imaginary friends can be hard work. The later you change them to a real boy or girl the worse their personality traits. They are like toddlers who were never potty trained or kids who never went to school, and as a result they tend to…
