  • Thank you WR and tammyjo. She was my little sweet shadow so I miss her so very much. And only 7 years old. So young, and so sudden. And so heartbreaking. I love all my kitties, but some are just special. And I am so sad that all the sweetest little cuddle bunnies get taken away from me at such young ages. :( In other news,…
  • I think it's different now, and it is very much a significant difference. EA wants all their games to go mobile, or at least to go "multi-platform". They've said so in many different press releases the past few years. Then there are all the industry forecasters who see the most growth in mobile games versus any other…
  • Sadly my news is not so positive. I lost a beloved kitty. She was my little sweetheart and only 7 years old. She had a seizure and I took her to the vet, and mentioned for the umpteenth time she seemed to have a defect in one of her back legs and was limping at one point. They did some blood tests and put her on…
  • This might also be related to why we have these Jasmine events in TS4. The idea is to achieve some objective within a timeline, just like in mobile games. Looks to me like they are attempting to boil frogs.
  • I'm sure it is! I've only ever play one mobile game and for the first year or so I spent over $100 (which is chump change compared to what the "whales" spend), but I haven't spent any more money since then and I'm still playing it. No interest in starting up another one, though.
  • Thanks, @Sk8rblaze. I take back my statement about it being more fun than TS4 then. Sounds even worse!
  • I never played The Sims Medieval. If I could still get it without re-installing Origin I'd be tempted to give it a go.
  • I'm afraid I don't share your optimism. :D Unfortunately I think it has the potential to be very successful with the casual mobile market. And frankly it looks to be a lot more fun than TS4, although I certainly won't be playing it. I think mobile games are incredibly manipulative. And the real time aspect just means it's…
  • I think they will wait and see if the mobile version ends up making more money than TS4; if it does, then TS4 will be toast.
  • I don't think this is Olympus exactly, because the timeline would not add up. I do have to say that I'm not at all surprised to see a mobile version of the game come out, though. It actually took them a lot longer than I expected considering that they said in an article shortly before the game came out that they'd like to…
  • I agree that there are a lot of people who seem to just love those TS2 pre-mades. But I also played TS2 when it was the active game, before TS3 came out, and I can't say that I was one of those people who just loved the pre-mades. In fact as I stated I rarely played them. Now who is to say that if someone started with TS2…
  • @JoAnne65 I do agree that it can make a difference as to which way you prefer but not always. I played the heck out of TS2 and absolutely loved it, but I never interacted much with the townies and never really got into their stories like others seemed to have done. I did rotate households a bit but not always, and when I…
  • @thevogel they add the Jasmine business because EA execs are under the Mobile game spell. :D This is what they call their "live service" thing, where they think they need to add new "events" to keep players' attention. The latest live service thing is the one with having players vote on things for the next Stuff Pack. It's…
  • Just to clarify for those who might not know, player-created worlds are considered custom content just because they aren't official EA content made by EA employees; but Rflong7's worlds do not contain any extra custom content - unless you count EA content from the Sims 3 Store (and that just gets replaced or will be…
  • No. Disagree. Not that EA or some EA management type is telling them to make 5 SPs per year, that's certainly possible. But the content for TS3 was practically nonstop. EPs, SPs, Store content, worlds; there was practically something out nearly every month and sometimes every few weeks. Maybe you just weren't paying…
  • I think it's more likely that they keep cranking out SPs for two primary reasons: first because they're cheaper to make and it's obvious to me that they don't have a big budget to work with, and second because that flawed base I mentioned is extremely difficult for them to work with (apparently, based on all the excuses…
  • I think this idea that the present state of the game is due to simmers buying SPs is way too simplistic. I bought pretty much all the extra content for TS2 and TS3 because I liked the games and the EPs were chock full of content. Give me a good game, and I will buy the content you produce, EA! Now if EA saw all my…
  • @simgirl1010 Check out Serena's Community Cinema by Joolster (no CC): https://gb.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7079198 Actually you might want to check out her whole studio. She has all kinds of fun, creative builds that use no CC, and many of them are on small lots. https://gb.thesims3.com/mypage/Joolster/mystudio…
  • OP your analysis was interesting to read and think about, and I appreciate the time you spent in writing it. I agree that it lacks considerably in some areas especially, but I would say it lacks in all three areas. It seems they spent/spend all their animation budget in creating silly, overly-exaggerated emotional…
  • Thank you! Although Joolster on the Exchange made the lot. She makes some amazing builds! Love the pictures you posted! @KHS12 I thought I had some very cool pics of the Kraken but that shot is amazing! Love your ruin, @Pary. Yours too, @Odonata68. It really looks like a building that's falling down. @TreyNutz never have I…
  • It can be very difficult finding just the right world, especially when you only have a few EP combinations. I am sorry that my suggestions did not work for you but I really think it's your responsibility to figure that out.
  • There is Mountain Lake by Rflong7 but it was made before IP so no dive spots, but it's populated. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=6187877 There is also Salmon Woods by My Sim Realty, has ports and boats but comes without sims: http://www.mysimrealty.com/WORLDS_SalmonWoods.html There are probably others but…
  • I was looking around my screenshots to see if I could find anything to contribute to this thread and thought I'd show my Music Store (I don't think I've posted them here but if I'm repeating myself I apologize!). I placed an aged down and made-over John Lessen, musician from Riverview, in a Sunset Valley (Final Second…
  • Personally I don't mind my sim kids keeping busy doing games like that to entertain themselves so if I get sick of seeing it, I just give them something else to do like toss a baseball around or read a book.
  • Kind of back on topic, I doubt they would ever offer the Store content in one big pack. I can't see them practically giving it away for $40, either. Some of the individual sets when released cost $30-40. Each! Of course many people do use the ads and the daily deals to find bargains and that's great that EA offers that as…
  • That looks like the two layered base game top to me, with a pattern applied to the top tee. If you need some maternity wear though I have some suggestions. Buckley has made some cute clothes that are maternity enabled and she has also maternity enabled clothes from Late Night, University, and some of the Master Suite SP…
  • Walk outs do work in some worlds because I have seen some that weren't flooded. But yeah, apparently in that world they are not going to work unless you want an underground pool. ;)
  • I thought swimming might be the cause because in your screenshot several sims are in their bathing suits. Of course they might have just been throwing one of those parties where everyone wears a swimsuit for no reason. :D If water actually is in your basement you can tell by shifting the camera around until you see the…
  • Could be a bug then, LaBlue. It's never happened to me other than due to the wonky jealousy/romantic system.
  • For me, I love the creative possibilities in TS3 and can entertain myself for hours building a house or planning a town. But I also like the game play in TS3 over the 'hold-you-by-the-hand-and-direct-you-to-perform-simplistic-repetitive-tasks' game play in TS4. As I've previously mentioned, I prefer the style of TS3…
