  • Ah, I used to do a similar thing except I would ALWAYS play them the next rotation, irregardless of when I played them or how long I played them. But this save file I've been keeping track of the ages and while it's very useful to keep track of everyone, it comes with the drawback that I'm now noticing how off sync my Sims…
  • I play seasonally as well! I might just start using your idea as it seems closest to how I normally play. 🤔 I've been avoiding merging households just because I was uncertain on how to keep everyone synced up, but I like the idea of waiting for the target household to sync up with the bin family before placing them!
  • Thanks for the tip! I have Sim Blender already installed but I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what it can do!
  • Oh, really? Whenever Sims 2 Castaway is mentioned, it's always in connection with the PC version, so I guess I just assumed that certain things were kept the same. That's really interesting!
  • Haha I'm the same way! No matter what Sims game I'm playing I always have multiple save files too! It just doesn't feel right to build in my gameplay world or to have gameplay in my building/testing world. :D Gotta keep them separate!
  • Oh jeez, I think you might have the longest save file I've seen! 2006 - 2007?!? That's crazy! Are you playing in one of the premade neighborhoods or have you made your own? And, hey, 5 generations is pretty darn impressive on its own as well, regardless of when you started!
  • Woah, 2014?! That's crazy! You must have so many memories attached to that save file! 😮
  • Woah, more than ten years?!?! 😨 I admire your dedication! That must be really cool to have a save file last that long! And your own neighborhood too! I've always wanted to dabble in neighborhood building, but it all seems so...overwhelming haha! 😅
  • Yes! You understand! As much as I love the Sims 2, I find it can be quite tiring trying to progress storylines because everything happens so slowly. Even if a household gets married, dies, or has children it doesn't feel like I've done much because the other households are still waiting to be played. I've gotten quite far…
  • In the Sims 3, a career like this worked well because the neighborhoods were filled with Sims. You could spend a Sim's lifetime maxing out the career and never step foot in the same house again. In a game like Sims 4? There's so few houses and community lots that I have to wonder what the point is. Surely you'll be back to…
  • I play rotationally and I randomize traits/aspirations, so I try to play my Sims according to what I think they would want. That being said, while I'm an introvert in real life, I tend to make my Sims a little more outgoing and family oriented than I am. I enjoy having close knit families and big friend groups in the Sims,…
  • Nope! I think I'm a little more...eccentric in my buying habits than other people on this forum. I barely, BARELY tolerate expansion packs and I absolutely DESPISE game packs and stuff packs, so another microtransaction with even less value than the others? No thanks. 😅
  • I'm curious. I loved the career in the Sims 3, but the price feels much steeper when you're only receiving 1 career. I won't be purchasing it, but I'm excited to see what YouTubers do with the pack. I also was weirdly a lot more okay with the trailer. I HATED the Eco Lifestyle trailer, but this one felt a lot more toned…
  • What? Of course you can compare the 2! They're from the same franchise, they're both made from the same company. Why should we not compare them? And what does Sims 2 fans being upset by the lack of content in Sims 3 have to do with anything anyone said in this discussion? 🤔 There were fans from the Sims 1 that weren't fond…
  • The Sims 3 Architect career was one of my favorites to play with, so it's cool to see it make a return in the Sims 4! That being said, I have to wonder how well it will work with such small neighborhoods. In Sims 3, even the smaller neighborhoods have around 20 families so you were never really forced to do the same few…
  • I'm glad to hear it isn't just me! I believe this is my...what, 3rd time starting Pleasantview over? 😅 I can't even get my Sims to the child stage. My neighborhood has a massive baby boom and I suddenly lose all desire to play because keeping up with the little gremlins is hard! 😭
  • No, no, you're fine! It happens to the best of us. Plus, it gave me a good laugh. 😁 I struggle with that in the Sims 3 as well. Supposedly there's a NRAS mod that makes it easier, but I haven't had the time to fiddle around with it yet.
  • If you're not against using clean templates, I would reccomend using those instead. MeetMe2TheRiver has a clean Pleasantview that has Skip's baby linked, so Brandi won't have a male clone when you play, it'll actually have a chance of being a girl and inheriting Skip's genetics. Unfortunately, I don't know if you can link…
  • Ah, my people! The Sims 2 Pets on the Gamecube was my first Sims game and the reason why I got hooked on the franchise. It's crazy to think how limited it was compared to the main Sims games now, but then I had a blast playing it! My family and I shared the same console, so I remember the premade families and lots being…
  • Woah, thanks for posting this! I never knew that they were originally planning to ship 5 neighborhoods with the game, and then 1, until eventually they settled with the 3 we know and love today. I wish he would've talked a little bit more about that part. I would've loved to hear what ideas they had for the other…
  • When I play I tend to be very predictable when it comes to Cassandra. :D Don and her end up getting married despite Mortimer's wishes. In my game Cassandra is a very impulsive person when it comes to love. She believes that Don has nothing to do with her mother's disappearance and believes the rumors about him sleeping…
  • I'm not going to buy another Sims game again. I've had problems with the way that EA churns out DLC since the 2nd game and it hasn't gotten any better. Expansions are already iffy for me (seriously, seasons and pets should be in the base game of a LIFE simulator), stuff packs are absolutely useless, and micro transactions?…
  • I'm not a huge fan of the article itself. There's something about it that just rubs me the wrong way, but the interview itself was pretty interesting! I completely agree with the Sims developers and their perspective on the franchise. The Sims was a huge step forward in gaming, very progressive for its time, and I'm glad…
  • While gardening does need to be cleaned up, I, for one, would welcome a new addition!
  • I'm super excited! I'm glad these are coming in the base game. I was worried they were going to add them to an expansion/game pack or, even worse, a stuff pack. *shudders* I wasn't pushing for bunk beds super hard, but I'm glad they're finally being added! It'll be nice to have more room for all my little Sim kids. And I…
  • No. Microtransactions don't have any benefit to them. They only serve to wring the consumer of their money. But, because this is the Sims franchise, I'm sure they'll sell like hotcakes. This fandom has the largest amount of whales I've ever seen. Plenty of people will buy them, if only to "complete their collection" or…
  • I've always had a problem with the extraordinary amount of DLC and microtransactions the Sims franchise churns out. It's ridiculous. A subscription service would be the final nail in the coffin for this dying franchise.
  • Sentiments! I wasn't too keen on them when they were first announced, but they've quickly become a feature I don't want to live without! I like how sims don't necessarily need to share sentiments as well. I think that's realistic and it makes for some interesting storytelling. For example, my married Sim had no sentiments…
  • I've put more hours into Sims 3 than any other Sims game! The trait system is one of my favorite additions of any Sims game. I feel like every Sim I make is completely different. (At least, personality wise. I'm not as adept at making Sims 3 sims look nice. :D ) I do play all of the Sims games (besides the Sims 1)…
