  • Oh dear, I've been having a pretty rotten week but this thread is an absolute riot.
  • Had a weird issue and wanted to throw it out here in case anyone else had the same problem. When doing the quest to admire the eggs, they can "break" and need to be repaired. Because the eggs are so small, it's really hard to see the little "bugs flying around" animation. If you can't admire the eggs, check each one…
  • I wasn't able to do it until after they got married. Unless we're all bugged, for whatever reason, it seems like they haven't added the option to move in NPCs unless you marry them first. : /
  • If they are playable, no....you have to level them to 16 and retire them or another player can ask to move them into their house. If they are not playable but living in your house, you should be able to move them out from the family portrait.
  • So, it seems like there is no way to move in an NPC sim that isn't a romantic partner currently (I hope that changes), so I had one of my sims marry him (Marshall Sun), it then gave me the option to make him playable (which I did) then I guess they will divorce. Weird I have to go that route but I just really wanted to use…
  • Yeah, that's weird. At least in the question posed there the person was able to ask and the game said there was no room. I don't even see the option to ask anywhere. The NPC sim is currently friends with my two active sims...I thought maybe I somehow borked something up with the first sim by being "flirty" at one point,…
  • You might be correct. It's weird if we can marry them, but not just move them in like room mates. I mean, I suppose my work around would be to marry and divorce but that seems like a silly amount of work.
  • Yep, I get asked randomly to retire my sim about once a day. I believe I'm on the 3rd or 4th time and I never know when it is going to pop up. I have to really pay attention when I play this game not to screw up with spending premium currency or retiring. It's really put me off as the game is supposed to be casual and…
  • I have the propose option. I can't seem to get the friendly move-in option despite days and days of friendly interactions. My guess is that perhaps I somehow borked up the options early on and that you can go friendly to romantic but not back to friendly, I actually am trying to friend up the NPC with my second sim to see…
  • I have two free slots. I purchased them with simcash several days ago and didn't make anyone else. I don't have any other characters in my home, playable or otherwise, just the starting two. I have the option to create new sims in those slots, but oddly no option to move in the npc. I finished the friendship storyline and…
  • Yeah, it's 8 currently. I vaguely remember hearing it was 8 for proposal and 9 to just move in for some reason. I'll keep leveling. Edit: Level 9 and still no option to move in so far.
  • I don't think this is a bad idea per say (I was thinking along similar lines yesterday in regards to parties), but wouldn't it be really resource intensive on phones? Maybe someone with more techie knowledge could elaborate?
  • Got everything except one pair of men's swim trunks and the hot tub. : / Not really thrilled with the event, got a lot of duplicates and it was quite difficult to earn currency. I hope future events are better or this isn't going to hold my interest/spending.
  • How generous a game is with it's events and it's "for cash" currency is usually an indicator of how well I will like a game, stick with it and make purchases. This one hasn't been super great. I'll admit I got started late due to starting the game late, however. I believe I've had 5 or 6 bags with duckies. No hot tubs, of…
  • Yeah, this possibility scares the crap out of me...I try to be very careful but I have been notorious for this in some games. I purchased a couple of the early "bonus" packs so I could unlock the extra sims slots, but I probably won't ever purchase more unless this confirmation is added, just too risky.
  • I adore this. <3 So cute! <3
  • I'd definitely be interested in knowing this as well; I love building arcades/entertainment lots.
  • Thanks for the head's up. I'm only missing a few things I think (or at least only a few things I actually want) and was able to use this link twice for 1,000 each. Edit: Which would have been better if I hadn't just accidentally spent most of it on something I already had, oh well, lol.
  • That is super helpful, thank you!
  • Same. It's going in an okay direction, but not enough that I am happy with it, or excited by the possibilities. Now, I will admit that even with a high-end system, The Sims 3 was completely unplayable for me until I started using cleanup mods, and I think if I ever get back to doing more playing instead of just building, I…
  • Hmmm. Took me a minute to remember why I had moveobjects on when I placed them. I think it was because otherwise it wasn't letting me line them up next to each other. I'll probably try again, it was just a test build when I was messing with them, I may have been doing something else weird.
  • Thanks all. The reason why I was asking is that they look pretty awful...they still want to make partial floors/ceiling when they are covered.
  • Sounds like it is a no go, then. Minor but irritating. :)
  • This is pretty much where I am at right now as well. I haven't even bought Outdoor Retreat yet, I think GTW MIGHT be a step in the right direction, but I just don't have enough confirmed about it (or things adjusted/released for the base game) to jump on board yet. There are a handful of things in regards to expansion and…
  • That one sorta grosses me out too, and I can't quite figure out why, as I didn't think I was particularly squeamish, lol. Might be the saliva. I don't want to censor anyone though. :)
  • Thanks for the extra details, Shadoza2! I will be very careful in considering where to place rabbitholes and additional content.
  • Thanks for the thoughts...maybe I am thinking of an older patch; I was sure rabbit holes basically forced the lot to be "No Visitors Allowed."
  • Thanks TreyNutz, I am pretty sure that is what I am looking for! I don't plan on using it a ton, but some variety in elevation in storefront displays might be nice, and since sims won't be directly accessing those areas, there shouldn't be any issues with pathing.
  • I love your theme idea/s. Very cool to see so much off the beaten path, well done!
