Op, that's why I haven't touched the game in a year now... Every Sim is the same and I get bored as heck as soon as my Sims have kids (but if they don't then I have to start over when they die, lol).
Since the Island pack... I got bored with it within one day and haven't got any interest in the packs since... I'm a family players and kids and teens are just BORING right now.
They called it a solid 2019 and I only bought one of the packs, which I stopped playing after 2 days. I'm not holding my breath. I'm a family/generation/play on the main lot player and I haven't found anything worth buying in a long time. If the unexpected stuff is like Strangeville... I'll pass.
For me, first... the game seems repetitive and pointless. All Sims are virtually the same: no wants, fears, whims are gone, no romance feature, and trait impacts are laughable. In other games, at least I was working towards aspirations and wants/fears that made Sims different from each other... but being able to switch…
I've had no interest in the last two packs (or three? I think it's 3 now) because there's still nothing new for my TEENS to do. Really, the only thing that will make me come back to the game at this point is more gameplay for teens. Every time I go back to play, I enjoy the kids, and they turn teens... and I'm bored with…
Well, you will still be able to do it for every generation. But I never cared for the University concept, still don't, and I don't plan on buying it. My young adults are fine, thank you... My teens are bored.
I wasn't excited about University... I'm still not excited about University. I don't need more things for my young adults to do. I need things for my kids and TEENS to do. Blah.
I'm super bummed that there's no gameplay apart from Uni (except the new careers). I don't think I will buy it except if it's on sale... and even then...
Mine do it because of the bug. But even then... what they do on their own is stupid. When a kid invites friends, they should want to do something together, not go to the computer. They should go on the monkey bars or the swings on their own - I mean, they are children!!! The whole behaviors/personalities/relationships…
They got rid of what I loved in the Sims - Sims that looked different (at least it's better than Sims 3 in this aspect) and were differentiated by their wants/fears - THAT was what made me keep playing (and I loved the attraction system too!). I loved how there were some things that were out of our hand. And what did they…
I did the survey and told them to fix the whims, lol. Seriously. I'm so gutted about this. I honestly find playing boring now - at least whims were giving me a (vague) idea of what my Sims wanted to do, and something to do short of letting them go on free will all the time.
I played one hour then got bored again. I mean, how many times can you make your Sim suntan or play in the water before getting bored? They got rid of whims and it killed the game for me - clearly they don't even want to be there!
