Are they phasing Origin out? Should I just only use the new EA app? How do I stop Origin from loading automatically cause you can't have both active on your computer at the same time.
For those of you playing along at home: I deleted everything and redownloaded the app and now it's working. Whew. To paraphrase Capt. Kirk "for how long though, for HOW long?"
Oh my. I just noticed when I tried "Repair" on the EA app it deleted my Origin completely. Thanks EA for a job well done. Now I can't play any of your games.
I happened to be in MediaPlay (anybody remember that chain?) the day they were setting up the display of boxes with the original Sims game. Had no idea what it was about or if I'd care to play it but I was pretty loose with my money in those days and it wasn't that expensive so what the heck. I bought it and I've been…
Do something inappropriate so they'd ask me to leave? Then I'd use my "Always Welcome" Reward trait and go eat their food, sleep in their beds and do whatever else I wanted and they'd smile.
oh good idea. I actually was able to get her to go and meditate but it took about three restarts before I was able to break into the hysterical mood. Then after she meditated and got calmed down she took a bath and was hysterical again so had to stop that and send her to bed. My sims just get too much happiness I guess.…
Oh yes, stop all those phone calls about "should I get to know this sim or that sim". I don't really care. They always have a good time so I just tell them to go out and have a ball. Do I have no bad sims in my game that would give them a rotten time? How come on dates too, if you are invited on a date YOU end up picking…
I guess just having my sim change careers for one day just to get the Lab wouldn't do any good as you point out. What is a good way to get those necessary robot parts then cause everything you need to build requires those bits. Scavenging the trash I know sometimes gives up those bits but that sure is a slow, tedious…
Oh I'm not beyond cheating...LOL...I'm God afterall in the game so whatever I want is going to happen. But so many of the things do require forethought or you being there. I just was hoping someone made a simple mod to undo some of this stuff.
I think what you said about as long as you don't do the interactions with the locals to "trigger" the changes it should be ok. That's usually how those type of games work. As long as you don't go digging into it things won't "advance". Like I said though, once through it was more than enough for me.
Oh, that's good to hear. I thought just having interactions with the residents would cause the things to get more "active". But just going to the bar or visiting residents won't do anything? If these neighborhoods were bigger too I might actually have sims live there, like if we could lay in our own roads and landscaping.
One thing I notice is as sims age they invariable get fatter. I don't know if what they eat makes a diff or not. Like if they ate only chocolate cake instead of just garden salads would they get fatter faster? I sense a new experiment coming on.
How come there is no legal system in this game either? I mean the police arrest you, investigate and then try and sentence you themselves. How convenient. Of course you can always call the people that get found guilty of whatever and assumably are sent off to jail somewhere...but you can call them and they will come over…
I wish I had had the smarts to hit the record and save it. Haven't been able to reproduce. The policeman is a vampire so he takes a little "nip" off every suspect he interrogates and somehow he doesn't get fired although everyone in the lockup cell hates him.
Well something is odd cause in my game one of my families got a call from Agatha Crumplebottom and she was black? I don't think that's canon in the old characters. She must be a variant from another universe. Most of the premades tend to die off pretty fast anyway before I get around to looking at them. I do wonder though…
You know it might have something to do with when I made the Elder parents into teens and then aged their grandchildren to adults and had them raise their own grandparents? Hmmmm? Yes, I can see how this might "test" the game's ability to figure out what the what is going on?
I will have to keep experimenting. I was looking at Carl's on-line guide and they were saying they had this same problem so it's probably something that isn't affecting everyone. But what would the Sims be without glitches?
Well, that was disappointing. After working hard to paint up a bunch of High Quality paintings my sim would sell at the crafts booth/table, there was only one performer of the three listed (not exactly what I would call a "festival" when you just get one song) and then everyone left so she never even got to load her stuff…
Well, I tried to renovate the existing room but it wouldn't let me add anything OR delete OR edit anything like recoloring so I thought I'd just play it cool and pretend to have made changes when I hadn't and I thought I was going to pull that off but in the end the client wasn't that dumb. She wouldn't pay me for simply…
The Sims Online was not really a game. It was just a glorified "chat room" which used avatars that resembled the Sims game and I can't believe I paid monthly subscription fee to "play" it...but not for long. I certainly won't revisit something like that. Luckily I still have Sims 1, 2, 3 and 4 all still on my computer so I…
OK, I get it now. But what if it is wintertime in your game? Do they hold the festival if everything is covered in snow? Or do you have to play thru until Summer rolls around again? I never realized how long a week is in the game until you have to keep track of the day of the week it is and you are still only on Tuesday.…
I played the original Sims Online and it was terrible. Lots of sad catfishing people and you had to pay pay pay and it was nowhere near as fun as just playing the regular Sims on your own. So if that's what they insist on doing again I'll just have to insist on not playing. 20 + years is enough for any game. Besides they…
