Hi caspin Thank you. Yes, I am loving it. I think EA has got so much right this time and I am confident it will get better as they add more things. Sims 3 no longer works for me on my Mac. I think I have something nasty lurking in my downloads but the task of hunting it down has been pushed to the back burner. Glad you are still playing it though as it is a great game and so beautiful.

  • I have never bothered moving mine either. My perhaps flawed reasoning is that the actual game files are being patched and not the user files. However, I start my saves over so often that it would not be that upsetting to me if I lost them. I'd just shrug and reinvent my world again. So far though, nothing has ever been…
  • Get a butler. I have two households and both had twins and then another baby while the twins were still infants. It was a nightmare until I got a butler. He was a real gem. He didn't do much in the way of butler work - never could get him to open the door to visitors - but he was a wonderful nanny.
  • So glad you figured it out. It can be so frustrating but also challenging trying to pinpoint what exactly is wrong. Roofs - shudder. Of course it would be a roof. :D
  • Hi, I have just downloaded and placed the house and I have no problem with the downstairs lights. The table lights were lit as were the standing lamps. The trio lights were dull but seemed to be lit. Adding and deleting ceiling lights did what it should. There didn't seem to be any lights in the bathroom but when I put a…
  • Yes, I have already pre-ordered. There may be sensible reasons for not pre-ordering but I know I will buy it eventually and this way I don't have to think about it any more. It's done and will download when it is released.
  • Just a little hint that I discovered quite by accident. It could be something that everyone knows, but it was a happy misclick for me and I will share on the off chance that it is a revelation to some. If a sim has two presentations to give, they can do both at once. Just click on one and then the other and they will both…
  • My daughter and my grand-daughter play. My daughter mainly does challenges and my grand-daughter is into creating beautiful sims with loads of cc. My play is a little different. I usually have several families who breed like rabbits. My sims' kids get As in school and become very accomplished on the violin and piano - just…
  • Hi. I have just put a household of five sims through university. They all went to class and did their exams. I didn't have mine in a dorm. They just lived in a house in Willow Creek and went from there. I think the most important thing is not to queue up any activities for them if they have a class within an hour or so.…
  • I answered that I would wait for a sale but I am anything but steadfast in my convictions especially when it comes to spending money on myself. All the same, I am not much interested in weddings. My sims get married wherever they happen to be and if it is next to the toilet and they are in their underwear, then so be it.…
  • I have had triplets in my present game followed by twins. The couple already had one child. The pregnancies all happened pretty close to each other. This is one fertile couple and only the first one was a 'try for baby'. I use mods but this was not boosted by any fertility traits or me selecting the babies. I like to keep…
  • Not my game but my daughter's. She has just emailed me this: I wanted to show you this picture I took during one of my sims games, I think it's the saddest picture ever. My pet dog in the game had run away, she had a fight with my other pet dog, she got upset and that's why she'd run away. I was pretty worried about this…
  • Thank you. He is a six year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and he tore the ACL in his back leg. We don't know how it happened though I suspect it might have been jumping on my bed which is rather high. He is also a bit overweight which wouldn't have helped. He, and his side kick female Staffy, are both on a reduced diet…
  • Hi @giggler36. I don't have much to say these days having talked myself out over the years :D I remember you from when we had our own forum back in the early days of Sims 4. Glad you are still around. I haven't played in a while. My dog had to have an operation on his leg and has had to be closely monitored for six weeks…
  • I have the disks and I have the Ultimate Collection and the Super Collection (for the Mac). I also have Life Stories and Castaway. You could say I am swimming in Sims 2. :) I don't play any of them these days though. Maybe one day I will get around to seeking out all the mods and cc that I long ago lost, but not today.
  • My sims are crazy about the easel. There is never an empty easel to be found. I just wish that they would go back to a half-finished painting. I got a nice surprise when I was playing Sims 3 in that they did just that. Sims 4, nope. They just start new ones.
  • Yes, I have most of the NRAAS mods and a handful of other smaller mods. I couldn't play without my mods.

  • I would love a Sims Medieval 2. I bought the original and the Pirates and Nobles expansion and had a lot of fun with it at the time. It wasn't that popular at release though and came in for some heavy criticism. People wanted to build their own castles and have their kids grow up and exert more control over their sims. The…
  • The 64 bit version is only available on Mac but my understanding is that owning it should still give you access to the 32 bit PC version.
  • Yes it is still available. I am on a Mac so I am assuming that Origin displays the same. On my computer, if I go to Store/Browse Games/The Sims it is listed in a drop down menu below the Sims 4 games. When you choose The Sims, there is a further sub-menu just for Sims 4, don't click that. Just stick with the top The Sims…
  • I rarely let my sims travel anywhere in Sims 4 because I hate the loading screens however I had an idea to keep a record of my families in my save in a museum or art gallery. I can't build for peanuts so I downloaded a lovely building from the gallery and converted it to my liking. It has several floors with skill objects…
  • I am loving this thread. There are so many beautiful sims and it is so nice to realise that I am not the only quirky player that gets attached to their sims. @jeansoo. Yes, it was Hank Goddard. He is gorgeous. The sim I created as a husband for my Victoria was not nearly so handsome but he was a nice sim and I loved him. I…
  • This is Victoria Farsley as she was in 2011 but she was created in the very first week that Sims 3 was released and she didn't change her look apart from default skin and eye replacements. She was not quite the first sim I ever created. I sort of remember a trial sim who had a baby and a toddler with that good-looking…
  • Thank you @Mikezumi. They are a lot of fun.
  • I have recently returned to Sims 3 and this is My Angel family who drew me back to this game. Sorry it is a generic sort of pic but it is the only recent one I have of them all together. I created them many years ago. I think it was mostly to play Generations when it launched. There is a backstory to my family.…
  • I played it within a day or two of it being released. At the time, I was very much caught up in Sims 2 having only discovered it in late 2007. I didn't intend to buy Sims 3 but friends on the forum I was on then were posting first pictures and I have no will power. I played on a Mac so it was a constant battle to keep the…
  • You are magic. Thank you so much. I am downloading it right now.
  • You can always take money off your sims with the Money cheat. I have done that with my sims because they get cheated money to buy a decent house to start with. They then have to pay that money back as they can afford it. I do agree though that it is far too easy for a sim to become rich and there is very little they can…
  • Yes please.
  • I am a fairly recent returnee to TS3. When I picked up the game again, back at the end of September (or was it October?) I hadn't touched it since mid 2012. However, I had a hankering to play one of my favourite families again and recreating them in TS4 just didn't cut it. I am a Mac player but I did play on my Win laptop…
  • I built my sims a greenhouse and moved their plants into it. I had that green smoke coming off them too. The next day they were fine. They reset themselves down to the first stage of growth but I can cope with that.
