The sticking point for stuff like this is the big picture of how it's handled, not just that they give it to us. With some of the design logic and implementation decisions we see come to this game, the kind of logic they attach to these decisions will have significant impact upon our game. Couple that with the fact that…
If you gave the current team the TS2 engine to work with and told them to make a completely new game experience from the ground up, could they match what the TS2 team did? They do seem intent lately on a cycle of discarding players who are no longer profitable, and searching for a new, more usable batch every time their…
I love the water wheel set stuff and circus set stuff a lot, I use them often no matter what kind of game I am playing. There was also the Once Upon a Time/Storybrook and Wonderland sets, as well as things like Renaissance and Dreams of India, etc. that could do so much to give atmosphere and mood to a game that we just…
The octagon coffee table from the pre-IL update is my favorite Sims 4 object ever, so I like it when we get things like this. The Haute Hacienda set from the Sims 3 store was one of my favorite all time sets, and this really reminds me of that. I really hope we get some good fixes so that we can enjoy playing with all of…
I've been thinking about doing the same thing lately. The main reason I got Origin was to play the Sims 4, and since I get more entertainment from 99 cent games these days, there seems like no point in keeping it around. My new price point (if I cave at all on something) for the Sims 4 is now a hard line 99 cents because…
I'm interested in seeing what they have to say about it too. The game needs to be more playable, and words won't make that happen. They need a results-driven action plan, and so far there's been no sign of any meaningful improvements on the horizon as of yet that I'm aware of.
I'd rather do business with a company that does a good job because they want to. Not one who throws you away every chance they get, and only makes nice when they want something from you. Too little, too late.
Part of the reason it's not a full game is because they keep changing what they want to do with it, and getting a basic game out to the players who supported them seems to keep taking a back seat to that. The player shouldn't have to keep supporting and supporting, and never get a real game to play. I just don't think it's…
Seeing how everything in a sandbox game is basically completely locked down, pretty much makes this game officially dead. Maybe the next release will be a funeral pack.
We pay for a complete GAME, and they're always telling us we would rather take pictures against pretty backdrops. They invested money in repackaging the game and trying to draw in more people rather than fixing bugs and making it playable for the customers they already had. It feels like they keep trying to not have to do…
Don't forget cohesion, integration, and details. To me those three things are the life of a game. It's not really a game without the little things that tie it all together to really make it complete.
If your sim reaches a certain level in the cop career, you get a free patrol car of your very own to keep forever. If your sim reaches the top of the fireman career, you get a fire engine of your very own to keep forever. If you get an alien to move in with you, his spaceship will become part of the family's assets and you…
Every article I read nowadays refers to this company as the second largest company IN THE WORLD. Their employees are amongst the most highly trained and experienced professionals in the entire world. Yet the products the put out consistently have no standards at all, and clearly multiple people at multiple levels all the…
The people that come here to play Star Wars will come from games with graphics and features like Battlefront - only to get backdrops and rabbit holes, and spaceships and land rovers that you can't even drive. Then I guess the company hopes that they will somehow be thrilled into buying more packs...... like Eco Living.…
I quit buying anything a good while ago because of the lack of content, the poor quality, all the bugs that never get fixed. I decided I wasn't going to spend any more money until they honor the purchases I already made and make it right. There's six years' worth of balls left in their court at this point. Nothing is going…
It's truly nice that they reached out and touched base with us, they didn't have to. It's appreciated. There's a lot that seems likely to remain untouched here - the design philosophy that brought us NAPs and so many other ridiculous gameplay problems needs to GO. And if they don't get rid of the mindset that brought us to…
@Sharonia...... Go read about all of the personality traits on Carl's page if you want to start thinking about what other kinds of sims you might want to make and try. You only think you're addicted now, wait until you see all of the things that you can do.
I've seen the "take the money and run" stage of a game before, and that is straight out what it feels to me like what we're seeing at this point. There are people who have never observed the trajectory of a company doing that, and they won't be able to understand what they're even seeing until it's too late. Yet with all…
Another game I used to play had you deliver singing telegrams. You would wear silly costumes, do the little silly dances, and sing the little silly songs. It was entertaining and fun. I miss being able to do fun quirky little things like that.
I would love to be able to play Sims 4, because it loads and runs better, but every time I try I end up beyond frustrated and sometimes even venting here on the forums. I want it to be a good thing, but it never really ends up that way. Sims 2 doesn't run in -windowed mode on my card for some reason, and I multitask too…
The last pack they came out with was so broken that some people still can't play. The gameplay shown in the trailer is nothing like what real, actual gameplay looks like - no cell phone obsessions, no clay addictions, no rebels with bags on their heads. There's no telling what dysfunctional ridiculousness is about to get…
I can't stop laughing......... I can't stop laughing..... Will the spaceships even work? Because you have to ask questions like that about this game. I can't stop laughing.............
