  • Might your sim perhaps be a lazy sim? I pretty much never play lazy sims, so I don't even remember all of what they can or cannot do. That's one possibility that crosses my mind.
  • I make Fortune sims the most, because rags to riches is my main style of play. Knowledge sims come second. I tend to not get around to playing the others much; I keep going back to the ones I like most.
  • I see that they still didn't fix the gardening bug that came with Eco Living two years ago now. And it takes a paying customer 10 minutes to find all the bugs that six people and their supervisor couldn't find ever. But I'm sure it will be different this time, and all of these bugs will get fixed, no problem. Because they…
  • I'm currently playing the Worthington guy from La Fiesta Tech and running him through all of the careers for the objects. He normally gains needs (food, bladder, fun, social, whatever) while at work. Doing it while sleeping is something that I don't think I've ever seen.
  • This is a much earlier version of the game, and some things were not yet as we know them today. Be careful about moving in or marrying certain "special NPCs", it can corrupt your game. Some are ok (like maids), but others are not. Always check if it's safe before you do it, because you may corrupt your save.
  • Other games give a competent experience, but Sims 4 just fails hard. They've done nothing to redeem the many failures on pretty much every front. There are still no sincere signs that they are ever going to make it right, and I've come to regret every penny that I've ever spent on this franchise.
  • It's good that some fixes are finally planned, but they're once again oiling the squeaky wheel before going back to the status quo. They had the whole delayed release week to fix things, then all the time since release to fix things, and nothing ever happened. Then the riot got too big to ignore, and all of a sudden…
  • With any other game that I play, this would have been fixed already. Just as a matter of course. The fans would have never had to identify a single bug, or alert the team, or worry about it in any way whatsoever. It would have simply been done, without the CUSTOMER even having to think twice about it. Yet here we are,…
  • They've spent so much time acting like an activist political PAC, that they don't even remember that they're a gaming company anymore. The gardening bug that came in at the same time as Eco Living still hasn't been fixed. They keep taking our money and promising live service, but nothing ever really materializes. They have…
  • For a supposedly professional company, this whole debacle was ridiculous. It's outrageous that they put those players through all of that, and I continue to be outraged that they did. Playing with people like that isn't right, and it absolutely does leave a bitter taste. On top of all that, it felt all along like they…
  • If you have Get Together, the Angry club vibe is an option too.
  • When I've done Fabulously Wealthy, things sold through my sim's personal inventory would count towards the aspiration total. But things sold from the household inventory in build mode did not. For example, selling bathtubs crafted on the woodworking table did not get counted, but selling a collectible or painting from the…
  • Don't feel bad, we all have our days. I know that I've had mine, and sometimes this game will definitely drive you off the deep end. There's nothing wrong with having a human moment - it's human, and you learned from it. So chalk it up as a learning experience. Feel better :)
  • The game changers often do seem to be overexcitable about mundane, trivial things. You could hand some of them a toaster pastry and they would scream and weep with joy. With the way everything gets overhyped, there's no telling what they could be making a Super Big Deal of this time. It could be cuddling cow poop, or…
  • Just a couple of hours after news of this rolled off the presses and hit the gaming world, I was signing up for it. It reminds me a great deal of Free Realms, which is a game that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have no problem turning off chat in games and making my guild name some version of "Go Away And Leave Me Alone" - I've…
  • For me, it's spam. No matter what the issue, the game spams you with it. It's gotten to the point where the game is nothing but a relentless session of one kind of spam after another. When they come out with new DLC, you get more spam to add to the spam that the game already spams you to death with. It's literally a game…
  • Haven't been able to play since the Eco Living patch because gardening is broken. Eco Living came out in JUNE! Does Origin repair even work again yet? This is what passes for a live service, and it's a joke. Many players are more than patient, and this is what we get? Stuff like this is why I don't even bother spending…
  • The arched western driveway sign from TS1 The mechanical bull The lips loveseat The flat wall counter that you could put things underneath but still use as a kitchen counter The way the horns on the moose head and the eyes on paintings would follow you
  • Having been in the position of someone who still found enough to enjoy in a game that many had become unhappy with, I know from firsthand experience how wrong it is to try to involve others the way you are considering. I understand your frustrations with the game, and I see that you only want to help, but that probably…
  • My sims have been out of commission since the pre-Eco Living patch, because they are all gardeners. Gardening still needs a comprehensive overhaul, from what I saw then and have been seeing reported by others. So I guess my games are still sidelined for a while. But it is nice to see things getting fixed like they should…
  • I've spent too much time with this latest iteration headbanging, and too much money on headache pills just trying to deal with it. So... no. Because it's too hard and too expensive.
  • I know you weren't :) my commentary was more on the craziness of the situation in general. I very much agree with you, and it doesn't make sense to me either. They did promise in their "note" to be more transparent with us about things, and it has been some time now since they said that. Maybe it's time for us to start…
  • We wanted them to do stuff, so they did. Then when they did stuff, things got even worse. Now we want them to stop doing stuff, so it won't get worse even more. It would be hilarious if this weren't the second biggest AAA gaming company in the world. But really, it's beyond Shakespearean now.
  • I just got a good chuckle when I got the automated marketing Buy The New Cool Pack Now! email. They really should have waited to push the Send button on that one.
  • The patch notes look really nice, some of the issues addressed have been driving me off the deep end for years. Won't have time to try it for a while because there's too much going on in my main games right now. Hopefully by the time I get around to it, things will have settled down.
  • On the surface the pack does seem to be better done than the past few, and the stream was well done. But there are already signs that there is only surface appearance of features, and not the significant game depth that we paid for when we bought into the game in the first place. Token effects are not features, but the…
  • This started to annoy me in Sims 3, but it got really bad in Sims 4. It always breaks my immersion really badly as well. Add the phone calls in, and OMG - it's quitting time again. I really can't take all that. For example, I really don't need to know every time a fish lands in my inventory. I already know I told my…
  • I think Island Living might have gone on sale that quick too. It was around my birthday, and somebody got it for me for my birthday. You know that cheesy smile Sims get? That was me playing Island Living and trying to look like I didn't want to throw my computer out the window. I'd pay a dollar for this. I like some of the…
