I have about 620 hours of TS3 on Origin. However, I've only been playing via Origin since 2017, whilst I've been playing TS3 regularly since release in 2009, so I've certainly clocked in over 1000, possibly over 2000 hours of playtime.
Whilst I have been able to play the game via the EA Desktop App, for some reason my store content is absent. I've attempted reinstalling all the store content, but to no avail. Anybody know of a suitable fix?
I consistently oscillate between virtual addiction to complete disinterest on 3-6-month cycle. I play the game to death for a whole month before losing interest for months, then beginning the process all over again.
TS1's OST is home to some of the most iconic video game music of all time, and for good reason. The music is fantasticly timeless, and it alternates between goofiness and classical elements excellently.
That has to be a tie between Open For Business & Ambitions. Careers have often been a weak point for The Sims, IMO. Their lack of interactivity can make them boring. Open For Business & Ambitions open up the workplace to a great extend, and make it very engaging. They're eveything that I think of when I think expansion…
My opinion of The Sims has been quite low since the release of TS4. I've barely even tocuhed the game - the pre-release press releases were more than enough to convince me to wait untio they update the game to be on par wiht past iterations. To this day, I still don't have much reason to move over. I play TS1-3…
If one uses the miner to drill a hole, the hole becomes part of a tunnel network that allows near-instantaneous travel between all drilled holes anywhere in the town. The holes must be named, lest you become confused.
The main issue with the apartment buildings IMO is the fact that they can only house one playable household, as opposed to the ones in TS2: Apartment Life, which could house up to four. The apartments were the biggest misstep in Late Night, no doubt. But, I still think they're fun to play with. World Adventures isn't…
I do modify the town sometimes. For instance, my most recent playthrough is set in a heavily modified version of Sunset Valley to make it easier to access content from the EPs. Here are the modifications:* Removed the Showtime venues entirely. I dislike Showtime's careers, so they were useless. * Moved the buildings added…
Supernatural is one of my least favourite packs. It's second-to-last, only being beaten by Showtime in terms of my disinterest. Don't get me wrong, the life states are fun gimmicks to play around with for a short time. The thing that made the bizarre, supernatural elements of The Sims series so notable was their…
I almost always create new Sims via CAS. I've almost never played as any of the pre-made Sims in any of the games, and even then, I typically do so only when my CAS Sim(s) married them.
As of now, I'm at >500 hours. However, I only registered my version of TS3 on Origin in 2017, but have been playing 3 since release in 2009, so I really have no idea how many hours I have, though I'm confident it's well over 1,000 hours.
I was introduced to The Sims in 2003. One of my closest childhood friends had the PS2 version of Bustin' Out, and I absolutely loved it. This lead to me begging my parents to buy me the PC version of The Sims, including the hitherto released EPs, then TS2, TS3 upon the release of each. I haven't kept up with The Sims since…
For me, the singular best spin-off is The Sims 2: Castaway (not castaway stories) for PS2/Gamecube. There's something about stripping the game down to its bear parts and then adding an extra sense of desparation that made the game engaging. However, since that game isn't listed, the Urbz: Sims in The City for PS2 is a…
The Sims 2 being available via Origin again would be great. However, the base game is almost twenty years old. Compiled, I don't see a reasonable price being beyond $19.99.
For me, this is a rather difficult question to answer, as I struggle between selecting 2 & 3. Whilst there's more to dislike about TS3 relative to TS2, there's also more to like. This can be attributed to TS3's significantly greater volume of content relative to TS2. When I play TS3, there are features from TS2 that I…
I think people's newfound love for Generations is due to their disgruntlement with The Sims 4. It was a prime example of devs responding to criticism in a productive manner, which is exactly what the Sims 4 team seemingly aren't doing as of late, thus causing people to re-evaluate Generations' quality. It's a great pack,…
I bought the base game on the day of release in June 2009. Bought all of the EPs as they were released (except Showtime, which I must have bought one year later when it was on sale), as well as the first four SPs, and still haven't bought the latter four. I've taken breaks here and there, especially during 2014-2018, when…
I would say Supernatural & Into The Future are the two least essential. IMO, the paranormal and science fiction elements of The Sims work best in small doses, as a gimmick off the beaten path. This is why I really enjoy playing as a Simbot or alien, but rarely play as the life states from Supernatural. Supernatural and…
It's interesting how many people's perspectives of Generations has changed. I remember when the pack was first announced and released, and the lukewarm reception it received. Many people thought that whilst the new features were great, most of it should have come with the base game to begin with, and could have in the form…
My three favourite towns have to be Sunset Valley, Twinbrook and Bridgeport, in that order. I've played in those three the most, and I've played in Isla Paradiso, Appaloosa Plains, Riverview, Sunlit Tides, and Hidden Springs a handful of times in the past. I played Moonlight Falls once when Supernatural was released,…
When even after 13 years and well over 1,000 hours of playtime, you still boot up the game once or twice annually, become completely addicted again and play another 100+ hours over the course of the next month.
My earlier screenshots that I took in TS3 have been lost due to various hard drive malfunctions. Even so, I've never taken that many screenshots of my game to begin with. The oldest one I still have is this one of a ghost Simbot preparing to jump into a pile of leaves from 2014. Gives me chuckles.
I first learned of The Sims' existence in 2003, when a friend of mine introduced me to the series via The Sims: Bustin' Out on PS2. I was immediately enamoured by the game. I bought a copy days later, and I've loved the series since. For the next few years, I only played the console and handheld spin-off versions of the…
