Oooh, thanks for answering. I have the most difficult time trying to use the Sunset Valley terrain. In fact, the only one I seem to know how to place is from Riverview. I gave up having my mountain town by now...
No, you can't. At least, you can't add roads after exported. One thing you could do is to make a backup of your save file, uninstall your world, alter your world in CAW and reinstall it. Put your save file back and see if it works.
Don't you people get tired to give EA excuses? :? A step in the right direction is to fix broken games. A BIG step is to actually release a game with minimal collateral damage (reading: there always will be some people with compability problems, but at least not 1000% of them [yes, 1000. Because EA can get that number…
The Sims Team doesn't work as a whole. They are divided according to the games: there's the console team, the pc team, the community team, the Sims 4 development team, etc. I'm saying this because of people saying there's no personel to work in a CAW fix. Chellemh29, that's what I've been saying. They probably thought of…
Charging more? In my country, ever since EA transfered the rights to sell its game to Warner Games Division, expansion packs are sold as stand alone games (yep, sometimes priced as one, or even higher than base game). How many ex. packs do you think I've ever bought for TS3? Zero. :!:
I sometimes have problems to manually patch the game, but it usually fixes itself when I download the said patch again. Plus, try reboot your computer. Probably just voodoo, but sometimes it works for me, so...
Of course not. They updated their versions of CAW. Like I said, they probably thought that we were going to be fascinated by the new World Editor button in game and forget about CAW.
Free? Like, you can download CAW if didn't buy the base game, for instance, and registered it so you can have access to anything that requires download in this site. Free? And I say it again. It's not a matter of testing compatibility. It's a matter of CAW needing to be updated too, every time a new patch comes up. Just…
Ben, did you patched your base game also? If you did and it keeps nagging you, you may need to be offline to edit in game. BUT, if it only acts like that when you open your launcher to play, try bypass the launcher. Go to the directory you installed your game (usually C:\Program Files\Eletronic Arts\World Adventures -…
What you guys don't seem to understand is that it's not Ambitions/new patch that needed to be further tested in order to be released. It's CAW that needed a patch to update its compatibility (it's that a word? lol) with Ambitions/new game patch. EA didn't release it. And it's likely to release it only when the next…
I'm tired of people saying "Oh, poor EA, people don't give them a break." Honestly, they knew a new patch for the game would require a new patch for CAW and they chose to not release one. I assume they didn't expect the backlash that it became. They probably thought people were gonna be happy with the 'editing' tools…
By the way, where exactly is that SimGurus said they are "taking care" of it? Honestly, people say that everywhere, but I never found a thread with a SimGuru stating anything.
I wouldn't hold my breath. Most probably they thought no-one would want to use CAW to create new worlds because of the new ability to edit worlds with Ambitions/BG patch. A new patch for CAW won't make it have new items, it'll make it recognize the objects from Ambitions/accept different codes. Also, about that beta...…
What exactly you're installing? CAW? Because if you have patched up to 1.12/2.whatever, CAW won't open. EA must have got the great idea that once you have a sort of edit-worl tool in Ambitions/New Base Game patch, you wouldn't want to make new worlds with CAW, so why patch it? The only way right now is for you to…
If you install Ambitions, you'll be patched to latest patch. You can't Ambitions, neither patch to 1.12. That's the reason why I never patch my game before seeing people reactions to the patch. Since I'm making a new world, I'm not patching nor installing Ambitions until I finish it or a patch for CAW comes up, whatever…
I don't have Ambitions installed yet (waiting for them to patch CAW), but from what I heard of professions: - Medical career is the medical profession; it only gives you more fancy opportunities. - Sculpting and inventing profession are actually self-employment. After you get at least a point in these skills, you can…
If installed Ambitions or patched recently, there's no way to fix it until EA releases a patch for CAW that should have been released together with the others. :?
I hope you understand if no-one helps you. I personally don't like helping people who act like brats because someone tried to teach you how to make better use of a forum.
