I tend to use the plumbob lamps you can get in game if you had the Sims 3 and expansion packs on Origin (and I assume now the EA app). Each of those are a different emotional aura so if I'm in a pinch I just put two or three of them in a room and turn on the auras. For more day-to-day I usually use the little things…
My most recent club I used to get the points to increase the skill gain for my sim and his girlfriend/wife and so he'd get his university work done faster. I bought all three levels of the focused moodlet but that never showed up at all. Mostly it was useful to farm club points because I set their job requirement skill…
The trailers still haven't really shown us too much gameplay; it's showcased the worlds and the aliens/stormtroopers/whatever, but despite having narration about the Resistance and the First Order, it hasn't shown much of that. I'm not expecting them to show us the entire story, but it seems to me like it's relying on the…
ISBI because with their AI, sims can be pretty funny if you leave them to their own devices. Also it doesn't require as much 'effort' as other challenges, so it might be easier to finish than some with stricter rules/restrictions.
So first we have the Game Changers--who most simmers don't believe accurately represent us if you consider the recent poll on the forums--and now the Gurus who definitely seem out of touch right now. At this point why bother even asking us about packs if they're just going to do what they decide? I wouldn't even mind a…
@Naus It's definitely going to be interesting watching them try and convince their audiences that it's good. Especially the builders, since the items will probably only work for a few types of builds.
I don't want new traits, I want the existing traits to have an impact on the gameplay. All they currently do is toss a few buffs at sims every now and then and even that doesn't make sense -- a sim could have seen someone die, but make them drink a good coffee and put them in a nicely decorated room and they're happy. I…
I now use it mainly for building. I do sometimes try family-style gameplay but I lose my interest quickly because, to me, all sims act exactly the same. I can't get a feel for their 'character' like I do in TS3. I'd recommend it for its build/buy mode but not for gameplay.
I always cancel the action but the sims seem to drink half the glass even if I stop it before they have a glass in hand. It's really irritating that they don't stop immediately but take minutes in game to process it. I end up with half-empty glasses of water on every surface.
I use moveobjects in my usual play style and in purely decorative builds I use debug items and career unlocked items (I don't normally use them because a lot of debug is free). I don't cheat needs, although it does get tempting with toddlers, and if I use the money cheat it's to take money away because the sims earn too…
I always tend to start out with a founder, a YA (usually female) and try a legacy. Despite playing for years the furthest I've got with that is my current legacy, whose 4th generation are children/toddlers right now. I definitely like challenges - legacy, ISBI, DITFT.
What about that one hairstyle with pigtails and ribbons? In some of my games it seems that every elder male has that hairstyle if I play the save too long.
@NationalPokedex I agree completely. It's a life simulator for a reason On that note, mine are: The Sims 4 is better played as for building than a life simulator. "We have the gallery" is not a good reason for the people building the houses to be lazy. Just look at the premade houses in the Sims 3 - they weren't great, but…
In my current legacy, I've downloaded a mod for harder bills, though they've got into the hundreds of thousands so it doesn't really matter any more. I just want some sort of a challenge. I should probably try some of the harder LTWs.
I play on normal with elders shortened because they annoy me. In my legacy, they're constantly trying to take the babies out of the cots a moment after I've put them in - though due to the challenge rules I've had to keep the elder lifespan at its normal length.
> @Nikkei_Simmer said: >It's going to be a rebuild game, where the four and their descendants try to build Sunset Valley back to its glory after everything went *poof* by some unknown reason. Is that a challenge you've made for yourself? If it isn't, are there published rules? It sounds like a fun twist on legacy gameplay.…
Hi, I'm Sam and I'm sixteen. Sims 3 was my first and favourite Sims game, but I do play 4 and very occasionally 2. I've been playing since about 2011 and I've (obviously) only just joined forums and such. I use Sims 4 mainly for building but I have been getting back into building in 3.
