Unfortunatley It turned out I arrived home to a corrupted hard drive, so I've lost the files for this save. I'm contemplating wether to tackle this again but I'ts probably more sensible to wait until the Sims 5 and hope for better family trees.

Fair point, although I would counter the argument that the two cannot be compared. Lore and history are the same no matter what context they are delivered, be it a book, a movie or a video game world. For instance Lord of the Rings Online is a much better game because it is so connected to the vast lore of Tolkiens…

The lack of backstory/lore for families in TS4 is something I've never been able to understand. I've just finished adding Princess Cordelia Thebe as the oldest ancestor of the Capp family! It's fairly certain on the sims wiki that she is an ancestor of the Thebe family, who are ancestors to the Capp family. Just lately I've had a blood thirsty vampire family trying to assert dominance by picking off strategical targets. Sacrificial's Extreme Violence Mod has a "Drain All Blood" option and a "Slay Vampire" option.

I usually have a ton of CC (Hairstyles/Clothes) in my game but after years of scrolling through 100s of items in CAS, I'm actually enjoying playing with no mods and CC... much easier to find things and the game runs a lot smoother/faster.
