  • Just throwing this in here: I don't see a cloud version happening. Besides technology not being advanced enough on a global scope, one of the biggest cloud platforms, Google Stadia, shut down. Forcing any always online shenanigans on their playerbase hasn't worked out for EA and received high amounts of criticism and bad…
  • I'd also go for 26 or later. This will take time and currently it seems very difficult for the industry to stick to their release schedules anyway. Which is why I assume, that they will try to be as vague as possible when it comes to timeframes. Hopefully, they will release some great stuff for Sims 4 in the meantime. 👍
  • I think there are tons of options for additional monetization -- even stuff like a season pass like system would work really well with the Sims. The major problem for EA in that regard is the modding community. As a publisher they'd be shooting themselves in the knee if they actively restrict the possibilities for modding…
  • That is actually such a good point. Other franchises do something similar. From a community perspective it would be best to have all the DLCs be free and for EA to find a different way to monetize their game. Unfortunately, the current system is making so much money that I would assume it's unlikely for them to go down the…
  • Oh that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clarifying!
  • @simmerorigin A lot closer to Animal Crossing than anything simulation like. Guess there are a couple of things to manage but more in the terms of relaxed wholesome Animal Crossing like gameplay.
  • I don't really see that working out for them. There are definitely better ways nowadays to have additional monetization without locking the game behind a monthly paywall. If anything such a paymodel is really out of place; back in the day there were no microtransactions or DLCs, games weren't as crazy monetized. Having a…
  • I would absolutely love to see more worlds representing different cultures with very nice attention to detail. Highly immersive and tons of different things to see and explore -- with the extra benefit of a lot of architectural variety to create truly unique experiences.
  • I think there is an option for it where you set the preferences in the editor; at least I remember changing this for mailcarrier NPCs because they were auto in not being interested in anything. Edit: And if there is no option I think it auto happened once you selected that the character is interested in man or women or both
  • I really hope that they will go down the complementary road. As I already posted somewhere else: Even though future smartphones might definitely have enough power to run more advanced games, backwards support/compatibility is a huge deal on that platform. I assume they would have to limit the games potential quite a lot to…
  • Sims x Frozen that would be one expensive DLC. 👀
  • I was wondering how I can get into the perfect mood for Halloween, creating a Sim with the proper look is a great idea -- will definitely do that! 🎃🎃🎃
  • @Nikkei_Simmer In regards to your 2nd point: I am super certain that you will not have to worry about random people appearing in your play session if you don't want it. The team is aware that a lot of players are not even looking for that type of multiplayer experience and I'd assume that they want to tick as many possible…
  • Didn't even know something like that existed. Competition is always good I guess. Either you end up having a very valid alternative or your main games publishers / devs are motivated to step up their game. ✨
  • I'd really love to see in-depth character customization with tons of options from the beginning -- and maybe the option to unlock more customization while progressing through the game. Kinda have it a bit more RPGish I guess. 😅
  • Btw posted this in another topic, they already have something in that regard in the official Rene F.A.Q: "Will Project Rene be a single player experience, or will there be a multiplayer option? Players will have the choice to play a single player experience or collaborate with others through online multiplayer across…
  • Oh btw. something that was updated in the F.A.Q: "Will Project Rene be a single player experience, or will there be a multiplayer option? Players will have the choice to play a single player experience or collaborate with others through online multiplayer across supported devices. "
  • @DaniRose2143 That's what I hope as well. I am new to this community but I have a strong feeling that the passion, love, and devotion Sims players have to their franchise is on a different level than most other gaming communities. The developers and the team also definitely recognize that but at the end the publisher holds…
  • Absolutely agree with your opinion here DaniRose but our good old corpo companies have proven in the last years that they are absolutely willing to bottleneck the potential of their games for the sake of mobile support. Simply because the revenue for mobile games is absolutely insane -- they take a lot less effort to…
  • Wait what? Didn't they say that they are years away from a release? 😂 Crazy to imagine that they have something playtest ready for outside people.
  • Didn't even think about the multiplayer aspect that much but you might be spot on with that!
  • Greetings everyone! 👋🏼 I just created my first couple of videos on my YouTube channel themed around the Sims. And as you can see, also created an account on the forums. Looking forward to investing myself in the world of Sims. In case you have some spare time, feel free to pay me a visit. o:)…
  • Considering that developement is in these early stages, I think it would be wild to assume too much right away. I'd wager that you'll have your standard singleplayer experience in whatever way you prefer -- but with the multiplayer or simply multiplayer features on top of that. I'm thinking couch co-op gameplay but without…
  • Would be nice if you could simply train your Sims to not have anxiety in these weather conditions. 😅
  • I'd also argue that this might be a "The Sims" game rather than Sims 5. EA did this with multiple franchises over the past years. They relaunched Need for Speed in 2015, they did it to Star Wars Battlefront when they overtook it -- and as they stated in the summit: the naming also hints towards that direction. But I guess…
