1) Open Finder (The Blue Face that has all your files) 2) Navigate to your Applications Folder (The place where all your programs live) 3) Open the "Sims 3" Folder 4) Drag and drop Sims 3 Application to your dock. Make sure you're removed the old dock icon first, though. (I'm not sure if this will fix your problem, I'm…
From my own experience and what I hear of others', you really don't want that patch, it only makes the glitches worse and still doesn't add in the in game store. And you'll still get those "please update your game" errors when downloading CC even after the 1.8/2.3 update, so it fixes nothing. I recommend just waiting till…
I'd like to see a Pets EP. Although, I'd also like to be able to play the WA copy I have sitting next to me, but I guess I'll just have to wait till EA actually turns on a Mac and starts testing TS3 on those too, and not just on PC and assuming it works on Mac. :P Maybe then they'll make the Mac version work and I'll feel…
If so, then that's great, we appreciate it, but so that we know we aren't being ignored, perhaps a small post stating that they are doing such would be nice. :)
I'm taking it to the Technical Discussions board, where Gurus actually post. Please support my (ours, really) efforts to get the attention we deserve! :( The Technical Discussions Mac Thread
I'm no expert, but I think there is some potential for legal action here. I mean, even the best we could hope to settle for would be small change to EA, but the PR impact, having their customers sue them, would sting alot more than the monetary loss, and I think would be more than enough of a motivation to get their act…
As with KarinL, my icons move to the left as well, however I have an aditional problem, it would appear as if the Custom Music Favorite to French glitch isn't actually fixed in the Mac version, so after discovering this I had to roll back my save to the legacy version. Luckily I only lost about an hour of progress, nothing…
Us Mac users understand that it may take them a bit of extra time to convert it for Mac, we know it's not easy or very quick. However, I do firmly believe that a Mac version should come out eventually, and that if they do plan to come out with a Mac version that they should state so somewhere. I mean, if we at least had a…
I'm going to try to do a complete back up of everything Sims 3 related and reinstall it. Something about going straight from Disk 1.0 Version to 1.8 in a single jump doesn't seem smart to me, so I'd like to apply each update sequentially. In order to do this I need a list of everything I need to back up, and list of places…
Tindu and theRealDeal make good points, however I feel that EA made a comitment to Mac users when they offered the base game for Mac. I, and nearly everyone else I'd guess, would have seen this as a commitment to Mac support and a guarantee that all Sims 3 related programs would be Mac compatible. A legal obligation? No. A…
They deleted our complaint threads! That's no fair!! You can't just sweep this under the rug, EA! Don't you care for us Mac users at all? Not even a little bit?! :(
They can't take our money, cripple our games with bad updates, leave us out of the new expansion pack party for a week, and then on top of all of that produce PC only companion software!! If you start out releasing a product as Mac compatible you are making a commitment to keep that software, and all very closely related…
You're not alone, infact probably at least half the Sims 3 Mac community is in the same spot of trouble you're in. And it IS important when you're loyal to a company and pay for stuff with real money and then get a pile of do nothing code in return. It seems that with each update since 1.4 it's been making the game…
Ok, so I see that the new update is out, but I'm really weary to update. I'm running Sims 3 CD Version 1.4 on Normal Leopard (10.5), never used mods, lots of Custom Content (All downloaded from Official Site), and other than the launcher not downloading CC properly I haven't really ever had any problems. So my question is,…
They said this week, that means by no later than December 1st. I will give them my patients till then, but if there's still nothing by December 1st, I'll be VERY disappointed.........
SimGuruBrent (and all other EA Sims 3 Staff Members), we greatly appreciate all your hard work in the past, and I think alot of us (at least I do) understand how hard it can be to find strange bugs such as this, and kill them. That being said, however, something as critical as predictable and repeated crashing of a game is…
I agree with everyone here entirely. Us Mac users need to be treated with the same respect and care as the PC users! Well I'm glad to know it's not just me, because at least I know they'll probably make a patch to fix the problem if others are experiencing it. Thanks for the responses. :) But ya know, it is kinda really silly of EA to release a patch to "Fix" a specific problem, and then have it not only fail to fix those that already…
I have the same as those above me (Assuming their is the Aluminum One with 2GB) and The Sims 3 runs fine. It lags a little if I've done other stuff before hand, but after a quick 30 second reboot of the computer The Sims runs very smoothly at the default settings (don't know if the defaults are high or low, I've never…
Just make a copy of the Documents>EA>Sims 3 folder, and if the original gets wiped out by the reinstall, just replace the new one with your back up, and tada, all your data should be just like it was before the reinstall. I would do this no matter what, even if it's not supposed to errase your data, just to be safe. :)
