@Cmaxxn You don't need to do without Norton. I have Norton myself and with a minor settings adjustment, it's fine with everything EA. Install Norton, you probably already paid for it and, you do need anti virus. Open Norton, go to settings - Firewall - Program Control. Set Anything EA or Origin (games and all) plus…
Honestly, save up some more and double that budget, then you'll be in the price range of a good gaming computer. A desktop is 600+ and a laptop 800+ for a gaming computer. It might sound costly but, it's worth it to actually be able to play games decently and, not have a lot of problems.
That is Origin 10 and, unless you have the no longer supported Windows Vista or Windows XP operating system, that's the required Origin. You can change the size of the game tiles and, adjust the Zoom in the view menu but, beyond that, the appearance is what EA wants so, we all have to get used to it.
Fixed my embarrassing reason to pout in chat yesterday. (Don't ask, it was a horrible mistake for me to make four times over with what I made the mistake with.) [Um, I hope no Gurus were in that chat yesterday.] What is one thing you would own if you could afford it?
Yes, this week. I managed to break a small part on something I had bought that day and, had to call the manufacturer to order a replacement part. Have you ever shopped for something expensive in a pawn shop?
You might be a sim addict if. 1. you watch an all night Twitch of one game while playing The Sims. 2. you still have Sims 1, 2 and 3 installed as well as sims 4. 3. you absolutely MUST have every new item or pack EA makes for any Sims game. 4. you have more than two Sims apps on your smart phone. 5. You see a tweet about…
Well, one beta in between my solution over there and the NOW current one did this, but again, the beta is fine for me. We have found the culprit, it's the "Friend has gone offline" dialog box, so, if you don't want the Beta or, you get the invisible or white dialog box with Beta, disable notifications for friends going off…
Do you have Windows 10 and, if so did the lag start after you got the Anniversary update? (sometime in the last 3 weeks or so.) If so, it may not be the game at all but, a Windows service called Game DVR. It limits FPS is games for no reason. See th elink below for details on how to disable it.…
When the downloads you don't want start, there is a tall window with the list that pops up, click the X on each one, that stops them. Origin won't try again unless you click on the base game for them, then it will try to download everything you own for that game again because it thinks you want to play that game. To avoid…
@gryffindorgirl48 Did you get Origin working? If not, what exactly is it doing? Not starting at all, starting but with a blank (white) log in window that never loads and lets you log in or, letting you log in but then giving you a blank white or black screen?
What version of Windows do you have? Origin Legacy is for Windows XP and Windows Vista ONLY. If you have Windows 7 or later, you probably need some updates. If you need help with that, please post your DXDIAG report. 1. Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press the letter R. 2. In the Run dialog that appears…
On the MOBO, I'd go with the MSI Z170A, pretty much the same as the first one you wanted but, I know for a fact that MSI comes with a 3 year guarantee and, they stand behind it. Has one quit on me 2 years 11 months and 24 days after I bought it. Got a new one Fed Exed to me that day, was here 2 days later, because of where…
Both are good cards, that clock speed isn't going to make much difference to a casual gamer. Hardcore gaming, yeah Go with the EVGA but, for casual look at warranties and service policies and go for the best one on that.
iBuyPower does offer pretty easy financing on custom rigs.Yeah they build what you spec out, but then you've got one place to go for support and, if needed warranty service. Might want to think about specing one out over there. Your 2500 there would buy plenty of computer for you. (yes they are US based.)
That white screen is a bug for many that Origin is desperately trying to isolate and fix. Di anything update on your computer between when it worked an when it did not? Did you install any new app or program in that time? Did your AV do a scan and quarantine anything? Di your modem or router update it's firmware? I ask…
The easiest answer is to get the Geforce Experience Program, click the wrench in the Games panel and set that to Quality, then let GeForce Experience optimize the game settings for you. If you prefer speed over quality, set the wrench settings for performance.
No that just means the technical stuff that lets Origin connect for Origin in game isn't working. Might be a server problem or maintenance, might be your firewall or ports be blocked on the router or even a change your ISP made. tre turning it on again tomorrow, if it doesn't work, probably firewall of ISP. having it off…
400 won't get even a low end gaming computer, 500 MIGHT on sale but realistically 600 to 700 or more is more like it for a mid line gaming computer and 1000 and up for one that will handle TS4 and other games maxed settings with high FPS.
That happens when something is preventing Origin from connecting to the internet. See this article for more information. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/connection-issues-with-origin/ If that doesn't get Origin connected, try doing a clean boot and see if that works. If so, it's something on your computer…
the Install log in seems to not be registering, and you do have to Log in Online, then take it OFFLINE while still actually connected to the internet, then wait a minute or two, just to be sure the server got it. I know it's being a major pain, about lots of things for lots of people.
