  • I think the biggest issue for me with the current gameplay is money. When I start a new family, they have to struggle AND IT’S GOOD! I like that they are running around after three kids, in college, and doing freelance writing gigs to pay the bills! It’s fun and challenging. But even by the second generation, they are too…
  • 1. Not sure about fame for knitting. Are there famous knitters? But great news that it will be included with clubs. Please can we get a new icon for knitting club too? Sometimes new packs include new activities for clubs, but no new club icon and the old icons don’t fit. 2. I don’t feel purist about knitting. Maybe their…
  • My big questions: 1) What ages can attend university? 2) What scholarships are available? (This one is more urgent cos I'm trying to get my teen ready but I don't know what to focus on!)
  • This website still has it as coming soon :( I'll refresh until 1800 (one more min) and then give up and come back later :/ Update: Got it! I logged out of Origin and then logged back in, so either it was 1800 or try logging out.
  • Same here. Can't get it in Origin (from the UK) yet. I find it and click on it but get a 404 error ("Well that didn't go as planned"). Too much demand or not up yet?
  • I finished it! No spoilers, but I just created a new game and only worked on the new aspiration so I could go through it quicker and see what was going on. Lots of fun, it will be interesting to replay while I am trying to do other stuff (job, family, etc). It will be really weird to have everything going on while I am…
  • I think actually all twins in Sims are fraternal - so basically the game just makes two random babies based on the parents. BUT sometimes coincidentally both randoms sometimes look the same, hence identical twins. I think a lot of it (in photos anyway) is also about how you style them - same/different make up, for example,…
  • Played as a vampire (despite buying the pack). I guess I did for five minutes, my Sim married one, but I just made her stay outside to see what happened... She died :)
  • So excited for pets! Even if it was just cats and dogs! I mean a hamster would be nice and all, but cats and dogs are probably gonna be about 90% of my pets anyway. Do they always do titles the same around the world? Like could that be a translation and the name will vary in English-speaking countries or even a working…
  • Yoga seems the silliest to me. There are specific pregnancy yoga classes! Of course pregnant women can do them! I would guess maybe it's a technical thing rather than a moral choice by Maxis - maybe they didn't want to do different animations for i.e. yoga to take the tummy into account.
  • Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Achievement tone is a good way to characterise it, it's the same one they use when you get an achievement. It does seem to be happening at weird times. It's since the last patch I think (or could be since Parenthood). I haven't quite worked out the pattern for it. But you're definitely…
  • Change ageing to Active household only.
  • Yes, I have found that when you select a computer action it is almost like you are just picking the actions "write on A computer" rather than "write on THIS computer".
  • I could write a long rant back, but I think I can explain this more simply... Not everyone likes the same things you like. People have different opinions than you. You are not the only person in the world. Your feelings are not my feelings.
  • I always play with ageing on for active family only and I play at normal. It feels about the right amount of time, but I really like to see the generation progress. For me that was the biggest thing missing in Sims 1. Sims 2 really revolutionised the game for me.
  • No, no really, that's not actually how capitalism works. Companies work out a price point based on how many people will be willing to buy at that price. Go lower, get more sales, but perhaps less overall profit. Go higher, you get fewer sales, but each one is worth more. If a company, or an industry, start to overestimate…
  • Oh yeah, I forgot that! I loved those little movies, especially the going off to college one. EDIT: Oh and yes, we need to transfer money on the same screen. I use the money cheat so that the parents can give their kids some starting money. Sometimes it's ridiculous - "well we only have 7 million, so why don't you, our…
  • Always cutaway outside of build mode.
  • My favourite fire moment was in Sims 1. In my defence, I was still learning the game! So a Sim caught on fire from the stove and died. Unbeknown to me, his urn was placed directly in front of the fridge. I didn't even realise there would be an urn and I couldn't see it from my angle of play. So after he died, his urn was…
  • I just want online dating that lets you match people. "I'm looking for an Ambitious blonde female". "Looking for a Young Adult, must not be Mean or Evil". Basically I just want the Sims 2 matchmaker back.
  • Yes, I would love cars just as an object. I'm not bothered about driving them, but I'd like it for the look.
  • I'd like to be able to keep chickens and cows/goats and beehives and then collect ingredients for cooking, like we do now with fruit and veg. (Just to be clear, I mean eggs, milk and honeycomb - NOT meat, that might be a bit much!!)
  • Absolutely love this pack. I never realised how much I focus on parenting, but it's like this pack just created a whole new game for me. I love that it's impossible now to do everything so each Sim is coming out with a unique combination of traits, skills, etc.
  • Agreed, it doesn't sound like we'll be able to have PlantSim babies.
  • Ahh, I assumed they would work on US time! Oh well, hopefully everyone voted well! What were the choices (or did you need to see it)?
  • Exactly what I was going to say. Solar panels, wind turbines, more efficient equipment (e.g. dual flush toilet) or upgrades to existing items (e.g. upgrade to eco shower head) should all save money on bills. And bunk beds would be awesome.
  • As soon as your Sims become a young adult, send them to any lot and make them marry the first Sim you see.
  • I usually wait until near the end of adulthood. I like to focus on one Sim at a time really because then if they need to go to work (e.g. doctor) or just go to a bar or whatever, it's not messing up what everyone else in the house is doing or leaving them to care for self. So I try and get done everything I really want to…
  • I agree, this feels like a step back from Sims 2 where the apartment would light up when you knocked on the door.
  • I guess it depends which Sims you're comparing and when. The trouble is that Maxis has to keep Sims going so if they gave us everything we ever wanted, then we would play it and not spend any money for about 5 years before they released Sims 5. I stayed played Sims 2 after Sims 3 came out because I felt like I had just…
