  • Wow you're world looks stunning!! I live in southern Louisiana and have grown up around bayous and can say, you have done a good job at capturing the look and feel. As I think someone said earlier - if you have Pets, check out some of the items in there. They really give that southern feel. And you aren't even from here?…
  • Wow! I'm very impressed with your coast line - impeccable sculpting!! It looks so real! Good job!
  • Hey! I don't believe you could change that because bridges are objects that can't be edited like roads... Now I'm sure if you are some kind of computer whiz, you could create your own custom bridge that would match the pattern of your road... but I have nooo clue how people make custom content like that. Haha! I'm not sure…
  • Man, all of this craziness over people taking the work of others.. it's driving me crazy. Haha! I don't think it's fair to assume he is claiming he made it when you see no where on the video nor in the description anything suggesting he made it. All this person failed to do was give credit to the creator, which yes, he/she…
  • Oooh this looks very nice. I think what I like the most, is that there are sooo many islands in comparison to other style worlds. You kept it realistic, rather than a community living on an island in the middle of nowhere in the sea, you have it off in the distance from the mainland with the distant terrain off the…
  • Ah I was curious if I had just re-imported it every time I worked on my world (in order to landscape around it) if that would world... and if I just did it one final time before export (I never get that far with a world before I toss it to work on a newer.. hopefully better one, haha) if the layer would be there! It made…
  • I think more textures would not only help make your world look closer to that of the game, but will give it a realistic effect as well. Try out this link: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/181739.page Here you will find Aunitlynds amazing list of not only multiple textures but also custom roads, and even effects…
  • I know, I used to check this thread quite regularly but rarely give it a glance any more because of the pointless bumping. And I'm sure I'm not the only one... but I really hate that it takes away from other creators with new worlds/updates/questions... :(
  • Holy smokes I agree with Docsprock. Share your blending wisdom! Haha, Those rocks looks amazing! Very nice
  • This is one of the rather popular worlds on this forum so you've most likely already taken a gander at it, but on the off chance you hadn't: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/295247.page It's Los Aniegos by Coasterboi. It's a large world, has all the basic rabbit holes I believe, bars, dance club, and you seem to…
  • Have you checked out the World Index? There you can sift through all the registered worlds and see what caters to your fancy, rather than have random people tossing their worlds at you which might not even be what you are looking for? Good luck! http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/372366.page
  • I have to plead guilty to tea_and_blues comment... although I do have his tutorial bookmarked, the second I saw it I was like "Wow... okay, my world doesn't have to be populated.." hahah! I just get nervous when it comes to mods because I'm not the most computer savvy person and am terrified of screwing up my game. But…
  • I know this thread is fairly old soo not expecting much of a response. But - in case if anyone has had a similar problem.. I imported the water layer files fine (I just imported the one large one from Twinbrook) annd it worked fine for a while.. But for some reason, after putting a looot of effort into that world…
  • Oh man, that would be a brilliant idea. I live in Baton Rouge, but I'm in New Orleans almost every weekend, haha. It's so unique, that would be an interesting city to play in. I wouldn't mind tackling this, I just don't know enough of the lay out of the city to where I think I would do it justice. French Quarter and…
  • Oh wow, is this your first world? Looks rather impressive! I like how you use varying textures to give different personalities to different areas of your world (the lusher, green part vs. the arid, beige sandy part). The only thing I could see being maybe slightly problematic, is in the 2nd to last picture, which has the…
  • Good job! I like the little delta you made at the end of the river. Nice detail :D
  • Wow I actually kinda like it :) Haha, its got a lot of potential. Kinda looks to me like some older type islands or something. Looks challenging though. How do you think the camera controls will be? Seems like it might be hard to maneuver. But good luck with this one!! Very unique!
  • Although I am a PC, there are maaany on here who agree with you!! Check out this petition on CAW for Mac users: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/133489.page :)
  • This happens to me too every once in a while... I've found that if I simply leave EIG, go back to CAW, then return to EIG without doing anything (well without doing anything to the terrain paint that was brown) then it returns to the way it should be and no more brown...
  • I'm not 100% sure of what you are asking... but I'm assuming you are asking how do you fill a town you've made with sims that you have also made? If so, check out this link: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/316575.page tea_and_blues has some pretty good tutorials on pre-populating your world, if that is indeed…
  • Good point! I haven't gotten that far in creating to where I could even consider populating a world or not. Although it has crossed my mind. I think I would have a few families, but not too much. It makes everyone's games more unique if the game creates its own people for each town... I just downloaded one world waaay back…
  • I just think having premade sims in a world helps make the world more dynamic and adds a sort of history to the world. But totally not necessary! Esp if you don't want to take the time creating and adding each person (I'm very meticulous with my work, so it would take me ages) haha.
  • http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/181739.page There you'll find links to all sorts of custom terrain paints, I think snow is somewhere in there, and they were even kind enough to include instructions on how to install the files! Good luck! :)
  • Looks good! Has a lot of potential. Nice job sculpting on the mountain part on the left side... although those bumps look kinda like an imported height map? Regardless - it's looking good! Good luck!
  • Holy. Crap. You're world is amazing. You have some serious talent. I watched your youtube video - superb!!
  • Thanks y'all, that means a lot!! Here are a couple of pictures from the swamp/bayou I've been working on... I'm not sure if you can see it or not, but I like the way there's a silhouette of the bridge in the background of the first picture. :)
  • Wooow this looks awesome! You are amazing at building and really, really good at sculpting!! That mountain in the background looks amazing! Good job!! I like the feel of your town, feels very mid-west to me. Very nice :D
  • Ah I like you're museum. And that picture inside the kitchen/living room of that house looks really nice as well! Good job and good luck!! :-)
  • Thanks you guys! Hopefully I can get some more developed this week so I can get more pictures up here. :)
  • :) I agree, the shape of your island is really unique and dynamic, pretty realistic looking! I know what you mean about this being your first time about being 'serious' about a world!! It's like, when you show someone something you've actually worked hard on, you are making your creative side vulnerable to their critique!…
