  • I was hoping we would be able to cook the extra pizza recipes from Discover University- judging by the fact that the kebab pizza was in the trailer and screenshots it looks like we can. The blog also mentions the waffle maker and pizza oven are portable so they can be added to the food stand, it would be cool if the…
  • Unfortunately it only works on the tea set. The globe bar drinks/ tray are a single object (despite looking like 4 glasses on a tray) so other drinks cannot be slotted into it. You can put other drinks onto the summer drink tray from Backyard Stuff, but there’s no serve/ call to take drink interaction with that one.
  • That’s clever, I never thought to resize the tray
  • 100% they were definitely not teasing a future pack in the HR trailer. The sim who makes the ‘beyond the grave’ comment says that while talking about a special nectar recipe (and we see her as a ghost making nectar). Horse ranch contains a special nectar recipe that brings the dead (ghost sims) back to life, that’s what…
  • I suspect the horn will just be decorative, but there are still plenty of plausible opportunities for unicorns. As other people have suggested, the horn could unlock special interactions or abilities (there are already CAS items that provide several benefits). Alternative there could be a special unicorn trait that could…
  • This is a bit misleading though. Firstly, people (rightly) remember to add the cost of MFPS to the sims 4, but forget that in the sims 3 some pet items had to be purchased separately through the store, such as the automatic pet feeder (included in sims 4) costing an extra ~$3. Not a huge amount, but it makes a point.…
  • From the trailers there seem to be at least 13 different types of nectar. The black-labelled bottles seem to be occult-themed. They look like: 1- Grape 2- Apple 3- Strawberry 4- The flower from a valerian plant (Realm of Magic) 5- Prairie Grass? 6- Unspecified? 7- Unspecified? 8- Heart, unspecified? (It's hard to tell in…
  • This seems to be standard for recipes added via SDX - iirc a modder pointed out that some recipe-related files don’t seem to download via SDX deliveries (that would allow for compatibility with things like restaurants and the simple living trait). Generally the next game patch (which automatically include any SDX…
  • Yeah I agree with this, I’m disappointed they made the school so narrowly focused to the US. Even as an Australian (which is very similar to the US in many respects) I found it surprisingly unrelatable. I kind of wish they had made active schools in previous sims games- this pack felt very much like a first attempt, in a…
  • A few clarifications: -The amusement rides can be placed in other worlds, you can find them in build mode using the live edit objects cheat (the ice cream stand is trickier, the easiest method is to download from the gallery) -Making teens shorter would mean having to redo every single animation from every single pack to…
  • Is that list based just on the descriptions in CAS? In the livestream the gurus clarified that only the base game traits were listed in the descriptions (since they had to suit all players) but traits from all existing packs (and lifestyles from SE) are taken into account for the relevant compatibilities. I suspect most of…
  • That particular lot is locked to Onsen as it is required for the mountain excursion event.
  • The lists of items weren’t a leak - they are on the official EA site. In the CAS pictures of the carriers, the sims aren’t wearing any shirts, just the carriers. In all official screenshots/ trailers they are wearing shirts underneath, so the carriers must be something that goes over shirts/ outfits, rather than an outfit…
  • It’s still not on any of the catalogues (even the hidden ones) but some people have managed to access the stall (possibly through mods?) and upload it to the gallery. If you search for something like ‘Ice Cream Kiosk’ under rooms you can find the shell+stall combo there (no mods/ cc required).
  • There are definitely milestones for other packs: https://twitter.com/SimGuruMorgan/status/1631871454852816896
  • Milestones were a big feature of the GT gameplay trailer so I highly doubt they are coming in the patch. Sleepovers/ sleeping bags and child bikes were also promoted as pack features (even adult bikes haven’t been added to the BG), I don’t think they’re coming to the base game.
  • The problem is that they would have to change the jungle part- it’s coded around the fact that sims can only visit while on vacation, so accessible areas change each time, gates reset between vacations etc. If sims can live in the world (or visit at any time without booking a rental lot) this mechanic doesn’t work.…
  • I don’t think this change would be as simple as some people seem to think, since elements of the gameplay are already tied to the vacation aspect and would have to be remade, like how the parts of the jungle that you can access are designed to change each vacation - that wouldn’t work if the world was simply made…
  • As a small goodwill gesture I like it. Presumably this means the base game is becoming free around October 18th, so people who already paid for it get the kit for free but those who get the game for free will need to pay for the kit.
  • This was one of the first things I looked for when exploring BB and debug, I was really hoping to use it. Since the shell is included in debug, I’m hoping the missing stall was an oversight. Can someone on twitter reach out to one of the gurus? They’ve patched in missing/ overlooked items before, I’m hoping they can do it…
  • Personally I can’t imaging shopping malls being all that interesting. Based on the poll I suspect it may have been a potential idea for the High School pack (along with the Fan Clubs, another idea from the same poll) but was eventually dropped in favour of other ideas like the carnival pier and the boba tea/ thrift hangout.
  • The leaked map had 6 residential lots (4 occupied), not 3. Others have also pointed out the possibility that at least one of the residential lots (such as the highlighted one that appears to have the curved walls) may have been built by whoever leaked the map, and might have been empty originally. I think I need to see the…
  • In the trailer the sports field looked like mostly set dressing, with cheerleading tied to the map object and football presumably tied to a football object (like dance floors and soccer balls from previous packs). I didn’t see anything which implied the field area was required for any of the activities which gives me some…
  • That’s true, but Strangerville was a GP and the lab lot was tied strictly to the story and had no real benefit/ use outside of it. Schools on the other hand have a very obvious usage in other worlds.
  • This looks pretty legit, I like the number and balance of lots. I hope that the school being a lot on the map is a sign that we can build other schools and select which one we want to enroll Sims in (including the BG rabbit hole option). Also perhaps it’s unlikely, but a settings tab in B/B could even allow for the…
  • When Maxis first started making kits they stated on Twitter that kits weren’t going to affect pack releases. They also said kits were designed to fill content gaps. I’m not sure if fewer packs last year (and possibly this year but it’s too soon to say) were the result of the pandemic, the Sims 5 development or something…
  • I think pre-teens/ shorter teens are a terrible idea. They would either have a huge restriction on activities/ would not be able to do much (like toddlers), or else the Sims team would have to go through every single animation and interaction from the past 8 years worth of packs and change the animations, which just isn’t…
  • When the frog scenario came out the frog hot pot was changed to become a regular recipe so any sim could cook it (to complete the scenario) not just OTG
  • If I could add any one recipe to the game it would be Gingerbread Sims. Not only is it great thematically but using the group cooking feature with a parent and their kids to make gingerbread for Winterfest would virtually feel like a new activity for me (Mulled Nectar would also be nice).
