I never made a basement, and I actually remove all the stuff that is in the basement (including the stairs) if I download a lot from an other player, because I hate losing my sim. Call me weird, but I only play on single story lots.
I thought LBY was using Unity? EDIT: Found the job posting and it does say Unity https://career.paradoxplaza.com/jobs/1831797-experienced-3d-tech-artist-unity
Would love ALL of that! I love "activity" type of objects, but we all know TS4 is very stingy when it comes to adding new animations. Of what you've mentioned, I could maybe see the following being added (using existing or slightly modified animations)* Tire Swing = Definitely could see that since there's already swings in…
I most definitely would like them back! But, I also think the idea of having them as a "Lot Challenge" would be great! Then you could add that lot challenge to your poorer, less affluent neighborhoods and your wealthy areas could have more police patrolling and thus have lesser incidents of burglary.
Oh ok, when I read "Pack" I was thinking of DLC Pack like they did for teens with HSY and the kids room and toddler stuff packs, which I couldn't figure out which life stage it would be for since we don't have a "Pre-Teen" life stage.
What exactly would be in this pack? Are you wanting this for "kids" and are just pretending they're closer in age to being a teen? Or is this for teens you're pretending aren't basically a YA? I mean to me the "kids" look like they're about 9-10 years old and teens look like they're close to graduating. Or are you asking…
It's funny, cause I was looking for a new PC weeks before this game was announced because the one I am currently using is not fast enough for what I do on a daily basis. I work from home and have literally moved in with my parents 4x in the last 4-5 years (for months at a time) to take care of one of them after they had a…
Most of the time CC is fine. There could be some graphical glitches on rare occasions, such as the long spider arms or multi-colored rainbow textures with question marks on it if there's something wrong with the texture, but for the most part they don't break often. Build/Buy CC sometimes breaks if EA changes something,…
My #1 thing for me personally is the layout has to be user-friendly for me. I don't care about the "stuff" in the house, but if I ever decide to place households in those houses that are actually going to be incorporated into my story, I have to know that the house is at least route-able without me having to do a major…
Hmmm maybe bulldozing the land flat (not sure if that makes a difference or not, but in my mind I'm thinking of the "grid" as a blanket on the ground and if you raised part of the blanket by placing something under it (in this case, the terraformed lumpy ground), the blanket edges/corner would pull away from the original…
I do the trick that @MDianaSims sims posted about moving the windows to a different area and placing the curtains, then moving the window back into place (but it does require MOO for that I believe).
Well I think part of the appeal for Minecraft and Fortnight is the fact they have combat in them and they're also not Life Simulation games. Not sure that Roblox could even be considered that either (never played it) so it's a little hard for me personally to compare these games with The Sims.
Thanks @simgirl1010 for that article! It was super informative on some things. Love how you can teach other Youbies (my adopted name for the characters in the game) skills, or they could teach you skills and how they could help you improve your relationship with someone else.
Have you posted this in the Modding forum? It might be more visible over there in case a lot of modders don't look at this forum. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/the-sims-4-modding-and-custom-content
I do believe they are sticking with the more realistic style of the graphics, so while they will improve them before final release I don't think they'll be swinging over to the cartoony side. I never read that you couldn't be "mean". Do you have a link to that? I read an interview where Rod said that there would no…
The only reason I knew that they made games for Mac is because I joined the LBY Reddit and there's a lot of Mac players asking for it and others told them that Paradox was good at supporting Mac. I'm not familiar with their games because they're aren't games I would enjoy.
I have never ever "played a pack". (I might do a little testing of the items or functions, but I don't set out to just play that pack.) I buy packs and just incorporate into my everyday play style. Some of the features from certain packs I've never even done, because it just hasn't been something I needed for that save.…
Not only was it in game, the devs literally got together and played the game and recorded it together. So they could have literally been playing on someone's home machine during the weekend or the video capture software might not have been the best. It was not a professional recording done by a videographer or marketing…
Well it's not going to have "charm and outlandish" characters because this game is geared towards a more realistic aspect of the life sim genre and for people who are looking for an in depth life simulator. The sims will still be here to give them that. Those that don't want drama or real life situations/reactions in their…
Yes, I thought it was super cool how the devs "played the game together" to capture the footage and put that video together. Even though the video quality is really subpar and super amateurish, it was so much more endearing to me because they were so excited to show off their "baby". I could just picture them sitting…
I too don't want The Sims to die (and I don't think they will), I just want them to improve! There are people who will 100% be loyal to them even if they continue getting nothing but a watered down-bare minimal product simply because they've been with them since the beginning. That's not fair to those players, that's…
@Jonalin Awesome! And quite welcome! So glad you found it, hopefully that helps. For me there was sometimes just slight little bounce on occasion but all the time, and definitely not like before, at all. It really did help.
That's about how I always make my bathrooms, always 2 cabinets (what I consider a double vanity), toilet, and tub/shower (I'm a bubble bath lover in RL so can't imagine just having a shower only)
I've never really played rotationally. I mostly create a new save for new families. I enjoy that most because it's "new". The relationships develop with new people and I don't feel like I need to make sure something doesn't happen to "upset" my story line because this is a "new story" .... so if Bob & Eliza suddenly decide…
Are you on a console? On PC, the camera.ini is usually in your install directory > The Sims 4> Game> Bin> Res Then find every "IgnoreLotLevel" (without quotes) and change them all to true and save. That's the only way I've done it. And it worked for the most part (still had a tiny bit of bouncing but nothing like it was…
I've learned so many new details about gameplay for this game today. * You can create new "needs" if you wanted, like if you wanted to have a frisky person, you could make one of their needs be "woohoo'ing" * There will be white vans driving around the world, but these are not background fillers. They are actually NPCs…
