Are you sure the lot isn't set to Residential Rental instead of just Residential. I made that mistake when I set a lot to Residential Rental and then decided I wanted to wait to set up rental areas.
YES! That's what I'd really like. I think there was one in Sims 3? You could put a desk under it or I think even a door to another room? That would be awesome.
I'd need to see what it's all about first - does it make sense or is it just nickel and diming the consumer? Kind of like cable vs streaming. Cable was a one stop shop that cost too much - aha streaming is going to be so much cheaper! BUT now you need to subscribe to 12 different services that all have exclusive content…
Mine always seem to get fat, more so now that I've got the bug where they ignore the leftovers and cook a new meal each time and boy do they love cooking. I had to turn the stove around and inventory the grill because they would cook group meal after group meal, not even pausing to eat the first meal. On a few that had…
I think it's because Maxis faves get the most visibility and like/loves by followers who haven't even had a look at or played the lot - even though their criteria for fav-ing is a mystery too. There are some really meh creations that get faved and some really awesome builds by lesser known creators who never get faved.
I've got gardening glitches too. The green smoke off of perfectly healthy fruit trees, bugs that continue to swarm even after the plant being sprayed, and a cowplant that's reverted to just two little horn nubs but is apparently still existing in the grown state but invisible because the family continues to do the "feed"…
Oh boy, I guess I have ADD because I've got 5 different saves all with multiple families in multiple worlds. I start one and then get bored and create another for those folks to hang out with and it's sort of gotten out of hand. I want to delete all but the newest save (behold, the destroyer of worlds!) but one of them has…
Nope. Can't build your own like we were able to in Sims3. I would love to build townhomes & duplexes, etc, but we're stuck with only the apartments we're given to customize and even then you need to work around a lot of things that can't be changed.
I liked the previous one. I was used to it and the new one is just sort of in your face. It just seems like every time I get used to a format or layout in anything - somebody gets the bright idea to change it - meanwhile there are hundreds of useful, actual additions and fixes that could occupy their time if they needed…
Yeah. It's really annoying. I had to take my Sim's grill and stove away until they ate the 43 leftovers in the fridge. They still started to make things before they realized there was no way to cook it. I've also got the green smoke bug with all of my plants too. Super annoying.
At least your Sims eventually wash them. In my one family they pick them up, stand there for a moment and put them on the closest surface and walk away. The sink, dishwasher and bathroom sink are all available. Nothing comes up in their bubble as the route being blocked. I've taken to just dragging the dishes into the…
There are SOOO many things they logically should have added from the start but if you do that - what are you going to do for the next five or more years? LOL! Like the modders who can figure out how to fix things but somehow it's impossible for the developers to add?
Everyone's bringing up all of the great things from Sims 2 that I'd completely forgotten about. Years ago I sold my Sims 2 full set on eBay because I thought the games would get even better. I still have Sims 3 but now I'm wondering if I'd like to go find 2 and repurchase it...There's just so much from 2 that could enhance…
Agree completely! Although they are pretty, the fake houses and all actually frustrate me. I want to go to those prettier parts and do things but they're just window dressing. I'd rather have the old fashioned lots and worlds to design even if they weren't as glitzy.
Oh yes! I forgot about fireplaces. Those are banned too since the neighbor came over and lit the thing - somehow caught himself on fire and the husband and child of one of my primary families and it was too far gone so they all died horribly. All this happened downstairs while I was taking care of stuff upstairs and I…
Washer and dryer. I thought they would be a fun addition but man, are they tedious. My Sims generate laundry like crazy and I have to tell them to do the laundry, put it in the washing machine and then they start to walk away so I have to tell them to start the washer. Then tell them to move the laundry to the dryer, and…
Oh I definitely want the Rock star and Rock God aspiration back. One of my fav Sims Ivan Rasputin went from a one room cabin to a goth rock idol with a mansion. The musician career we have now is only classical. Boring.
I don't think I need another city world but perhaps a town world allowing you to, as others have suggested, create your own single or multifamily houses, apartment buildings, townhouses, duplexes, or even trailer park like in Sims 2.
I agree with all of your suggestions. I always wonder why if the folks who develop these brilliant mods can do it, why can't actual developers put these things in the game?
I am most comfortable building restaurants and small to moderate sized homes. I like my builds to be more realistic and highly functional with good flow for efficient game play. Kitchen flow is fridge, prep area, stove, sink. Garbage can needs to be close to front door or back door and outside garbage can next to it. I…
Spiral stairs or at least stack-able stairs like in real life where you put the basement stairs under the ones to the second floor, etc. Those sort of bunk beds we had in either 2 or 3 - can't remember which - that you could put a desk or seating under. Sectional couches. I would love to have the old color wheel, but I…
I'm not following anybody and they still pop up. I was really hoping there was a way to get them to disappear. It's such a popularity contest anyway. Don't get me wrong, there are some brilliant ones that they pick and some are so simple that pretty much anyone could have designed it. I've also found some awesome, highly…
